Like no sane mother wants to do that. So what specific brand of fucked up is the mother on or suffering from. If this is how she treats her in adulthood I can't imagine the shit from the teen years. Wifes-Mom crosses boundaries willingly and cares nit to apologize for or even know how wrong it is without asking. This is someone who doesn't respect about anything you tell them your not okay with. Mom or not this is settled in a very few amount of words, simply "get fucked".
I myself have a mother who can't be a decent person and respect boundaries and she's far from me now and I'm the black sheep of her side of the family. People don't like truth, least not about themselves or about yourself, "You need to respect my boundaries or you will be causing conflict not doing so". But they don't care they cross the boundaries your comfortable cause they are inheritantly disrespectful, 1 or 5 warnings and they continue so cutting them out of your life is the only solution. They'll NEVER learn to be better then such but lambast you for having self respect.

I had a similar situation with my mom, she would come over to my marital home and just start going through drawers and stuff, she once went to me and my husband's bedroom and went through the drawers and closet; that was the last straw. I had to set boundaries and let her know that it was not okay with us. She was upset and tried to pull the guilt trip about her being my mother, but I stood my ground and she learned her place. If I was a single woman, I wouldn't care so much, even though it's still rude to be going through my things, but being married, it was more of a violation to me.

If they’re that touchy about being asked to respect your wishes in your dang house, let it be. She did you a favor. And don’t let her take it back. When she gets over being mad, that doesn’t mean you have to too!!

Nothing really other then change the locks and further set your boundaries. Let them be childish, you crushed their dreams of having what you have and it’s hard on them to see you have what they wanted and couldn’t have plus it’s harder to hear your children tell you no for the first time in ever.

If they have a key to your house Mabye change the locks so they can’t come in uninvited and also get a new house sitter and don’t let your parents in if you don’t want to you could put a lock on your bedroom door not a push in lock but a key lock so they can’t use your room when house sitting

NTA, but OP needs to find their spine and shut their parents down on this boundary-stomping nonsense. This clearly isn't the only thing going on, given the mother's attitude. Sh thinks she's entitled to anything in the house, like it's hers.

Lock em out if they think their entitled to your house and go no contact since they’re clearly trying to manipulate you to get what they want and if they cared about you they wouldn’t throw such a fit over using a guest room

Change locks or add a lock to your bedroom door. Then when or if you talk to them again, tell them don't sleep in our bed anymore or don't come over again. I know it's harsh since they're your parents, but they should have known from the get go, it's weird. It's your house and they're treating like it's theirs and the audacity to not talk to somebody because of that. How are their parents, they're children 😒
