Good video bro. I was able to change all my lights. For those who don't have a Sonata with dual exhaust, you'll have to remove a black shield underneath the vehicle to get to the wiring on the non exhaust side. 👍🏿
LEDs look great! LED swaps were the first thing I did when I got my Sonata earlier last year. I too swapped out my license plate bulbs with T10 Lasfit bulbs and noticed that they are super bright and shine a distinct pattern on the ground, but I personally don't mind it. Thanks for making this video guide so people can follow along!
Thanks to you, the reverse lights were a breeze. For anyone curious there is no clip I could find on the plug, you just grab the base firmly and pull straight back.
Thank you for making this video. As a new sonata owner I’m loving the car but feel as though there isn’t much of content on it apart from reviews. Quick question, did you ever get a “check haptic steering wheel system” error message pop on the display? Mine comes on every other day and goes away once the car is parked for few hrs.
hey, i'm having a hard time removing the taillight bulb to switch them to LED's, do you have a video of you removing the lights? i can twist it but i'm having a issue with pulling it out because of the wiring
Just used either sewing string and dental floss after applying heat from a heat gun. Don't get too close or expose it for too long though as it can damage the paint. Just enough that you feel the letters budge. After that, just use Goo Gone to remove any left over adhesive or outlining.
@@Chayness yea u good bro. thanks for the tutorial my car is bright af now. i was also wondering if there any way to remove the rear tail light bulb for the blinker/ brake. mine is pretty dim during the day and want to make it brighter
@@d6kk If you have a 2021 model, no since those had built in LED's. If you have a 2022+ model, they switched them out for normal bulbs so you should be able to replace them. Keep in mind that you may need a CANBUS decoder if you run an LED bulb as the car will throw an error code on the dashboard.
@@Chayness so a Veloster has a light in the glove box and sonata doesn't? It's so bizarre where Hyundai cut costs in this car. Only thing I'm missing now is the led brake light/turn signal. Haven't been able to find a bulb in the forums.
@@fragonarag lol this is going to sound crazy but I have had 3 Hyundais I have done this to. Maybe you're right and it wasn't the Veloster. Maybe it was the Tucson haha but yea, the Sonata does not have one in the glove box. I can confirm.
Great video. I have a question. I have the 2021 SEL with Conveneice and I wanted to upgrade the taillights to LED. Can I just buy the LED module that comes on the Limited trim and just swap without any rewiring? Basically would they be plug and play? Thanks in advance
So that's a great question. Not sure if you saw my new video where I explore that option for non LED trims.... The short of it, it may not work. While you may only need to add a resistor, something in the taillight itself will send a fault code to your dashboard that will not go away. It's frustrating. I recommend you check out my new video to see what I mean.
@@Chayness Great. Thanks for the response. I was interested in going from the non LED to LED both North American. I will check out rest of your videos and I have subscribed. Thanks so much for the response.
@@xTDRxksc400 Wow that's odd. I went with LASFIT myself (though i'll admit, i've had a few of the Auxito bulbs too and some have not lasted very long) but Sylvania is usually top quality. You can try LASFIT and see if it helps?
I have a 2022 sonata, I tried to actually replace it today, unfortunately ran out of daylight but I’ve noticed unless u have the N-Line model, the left side is covered up via plastic so there isn’t just a hole there cause there’s no exhaust, so to answer ur question is yes, you would have to remove the panel in order to gain access to the reverse light
There's someone in the community with a non N Line Sonata that has theirs super fixed up. It's bagged on wheels with custom front and rear diffuser, was wrapped and has custom exhaust. Super clean! Sky is the limit even if you don't have the fancy engine. Besides, theirs more parts and stuff for the 1.6T engine thanks to the OG Veloster and Elantra Sport models along with the new Kia Fortes.

Thanks for the kind words. Yea those LED's are quite bright lol
Just leased a ‘23 and wanted to change the LEDs … your video definitely came in handy for those reverse lights - ‘ppreciate it, *SUBSCRIBED*!

Weird. But good to know!
Do you know what it's the fuse that control the Dome light ( the room interior light )
Sadly I don't. I haven't checked.

I have not personally gotten this but I have seen a few people on forums post about this. Not sure what it pertains to sadly.
So I guess is the same process for the sonata sel 2023 ? Or do you think is different ?
Do you know of any led light bulbs that work on the taillight that does not give the warning?
whered you get the rear bumper sticker ?
The KDM SD sticker was made by the person who created the Facebook group
Thanks just got mine ! Love it !
can you explain the reverse lights more, do I twist first to take it out or is it a clip to pull out the housing then what thanks

Did you figure it out?
Thank you for the video I will order inside led kits for my 22 sonata sel plus I also wondering if I can swap the limited headlights to sel plus
They bolt on easy but the plugs are slightly different in their wiring. They will not work 100% as intended without re-wiring and some work.
With the reversing light, do you pull off the connector with the wires and then twist to get to the bulb, or do you twist from the start?
Awesome awesome LED upgrades. Btw was it hard removing the sonata badge? It looks soooo much cleaner. 👍🏽👏🏽

How did you change the interior center console bulbs?
The center console? As in where the shifter buttons are or the top LED's by the roof? Either way, I did not change them. They came as is.

The product has a year warranty do they last a long time ??
Not sure if they changed things mid-model year, but my 2022 N line I bought yesterday has full LED interior.
Hmmm. You sure? Mine has full LED except for the glovebox and the individual lights for the courtesy mirrors.
@@Chayness You are correct. In my 2022 manufactured in June, it has incandescent under the courtesy mirrors and no light in the glove box.

I have a 2020 Sonata SE model and I want to change both of my brake lights/turn signal to LED bulbs, is it possible?
If they're not already built in LEDs, you would just need to look up the bulb number and replace it.
Is it easy to replace led reverse light bulb?

Are the ambient lighting trim OEM or did you install them I have 2022 SEL PLUS 1.6T
I believe they're oem . And only the N-line and limited have them other models will have to install them aftermarket
Can it be changed on a 2018 Sonata SEL?
Appreciate the input 👌
