    I'm 18 and feel betrayed by my family for not putting me in dance classes when I was a kid despite having natural rhythm, musicality, and a desire to perform (that sounds pretentious, I promise it's not). Now I'm a minimum wage full time food service employee getting ready for college (funded by Financial Aid), trying to pursue my desire to dance on my own.
    This tutorial is fantastic, and I've seen lots of turn tutorials (turntorials?), but this one really helped me the most. So thank you so much for this.

      its a vid tutorial it have to be step by step, some teachers are not impatient they just want people to learn fast, many pro companies do that, i went to an audition and ty just showed choreo once and that was it, you should pick up fast, you know some people have it and some dont, try to take notes, make your way to get what your teacher wants and look for it at home in slooow qiuet how long you need, maybe even on Auties channel :)

      @@phebe5226 I never took ballet as a child. I did take a few classes in college. Then I didn't take a ballet class for many years. Then I joined my local YMCA. They have a terrific dance teacher and I started to take his ballet and Jazz class. He also just started a Salsa class ! The ages in the class are from 30s to 70s ! After about a year I started to supplement these YMCA classes with dance schools in NYC that have absolute beginner ballet classes. You can use Yelp to see classes and reviews in your area. Search Adult beginner ballet classes and your area code. You can also try that search in Google. Good luck.

    During this Pandemic I hope to continue to practice my turns using this video😩❤️ and others but you make everything make sense. I’m always falling out of my Pirouettes, I can’t do turns in second , so during this time , I hope to train at home , work on my flexibility, and gain strength in my calf’s, stomach, just my whole body so I can get these turns. My freshman year in college I auditioned at Alabama state university for the Stingettes (you can look them up) and sadly I didn’t make the team and I spent my whole freshman year sad and feeling not good enough to ever make the team again . I knew in the back of my mind I wasn’t going to make it because I didn’t have my pirouettes, turns in second , leaps in second , and other leaps. All I had was flexibility. I was on the dance team at my school in Highschool but the team didn’t focus on technique . I wanted to quit the team my senior year and join ballet classes so I’d be ready for auditions but I’m pretty sure you know that being on a dance team is expensive so my mother didn’t let me quit because she payed too much money already. Summer before college auditions I wanted to take ballet classes and quickly learn but we couldn’t afford it, I took like 4 classes and just from that my parents were struggling to pay for the classes and even would pressure me and get mad at me by saying things like “ you better make this team” . So time was up and I still went to auditions and didn’t make the team , I was so intimidated by the other girls because they had everything VS me. I tried to self teach on TH-cam before auditions but it was had . But I’m going to continue to look at TH-cam videos and self teach. I am a great dancer , I have the energy and can pick up Choreo, I have flexibility, but no technique . You can check @so.thatsjay on Instagram ❤️❤️ . I’m going to keep praying and trying !!

    I used to do dance when I was little and now I want to join the dance team now
    I never know how much force to use, how to spot, and how to land with parallel feet
    Anyone have tips?
    Also you teach so well!!

    • @gloomsdayy
      @gloomsdayy 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Im sure that you know this now scince its been 2 months but to spot look at an object and as your turning you eyes never leave that object or you can use a mirrior and look at your eyes and never stop looking and your eyes while your turning

      For force it is kinda just a you learn sort of thing it depends if you have bare feet ballet shoes etc. And the type of floor you are on
