I watched this as a kid - i hate this so called adavnced modern world - we have and ae going backwards by the day. the fun has gone out of this life in 2020. thanks for the film.
Thing is everyone from every generation has said the same thing - that life was better when they were a kid. It may be that things are objectively getting worse, but it's equally if not more probable that people just enjoy life more when they're young and then judge everything according to that baseline, so naturally any change seems worse. Ask the kids today - they all seem to be having fun, but they're doing it in ways that seem odd to us old fogeys.

Thank you for everyone who up load these films for us...I used to love these progs and can.t remember seeing this film, know I.ll enjoy it and being from a Jewish/Catholic back grounds..makes me smile more :)I trained as a Nurse in The London Hospital,Whitechapel back in the 70s,...There were East Enders born within the sound of Bow Bells, proper Cockneys...Jewish and Irish Catholics and a few others..best time ever..!
No doubt Mary Whitehouse complained at the time, and no doubt some will complain now for entirely different reasons. There's always someone who just doesn't like people being happy. Good work Wendy.
Great innocent comedy, people who get offended need to switch off and let us with a sense of humour have a good laugh. Thank you for this from a grateful fan
I had no idea that they'd made a feature film of this programme.. I used to love watching the weekly television show of this... Thanks so much for this.
😁The golden age of comedy .Cheers for bringing this film to my attention .A great film Yes I Remember this much loved and popular comedy tv series when I first saw it on tv thats a long time ago. Religion can be funny. And what a great comedy entertainer John Bluthal was. Seen him on bbc2 Q5 with Spike Milligen l always admired his work. Does any one remember w c fields
Thanks for putting this up Wendy. It's 'of its time' and obviously wouldn't get made today but it's a nice nostalgic trip down the 1970s memory lane. And some classic old-fashioned jokes. And you were stunning. :)
this is brilliant...a superb piece of social history...great comedy also with top acting...it's such a shame that such a film couldn't be made in 2021....fk political correctness...according to modern day standards, this film is racist, sexist, and disrespectful to religion. ...yet at the same time it is none of these....brilliant. Thanks very much for the upload.
I live in rural appalachia and love these movies,I cant imagine living there but the humor just keeps me going . Love the way you all speak.the accent. Wendy you are great in this one too.
Wow what a beautiful place to live in the mountains! Bet your accent is awesome too! Always wanted to visit where your from! UK has gone down hill big time!!! 🥰
Comedy gold. Loved it. Halcyon days, even though I was only 3 a the time :D Why don't we have films like this nowadays? Why don't we have girls like Rita nowadays?
Thank you for uploading this hidden gem 💎 of a classic British comedy film. I was watching Doctor in Clover on TH-cam last night and when it finished this came on . As soon as I saw the Jewish and Catholic characters distributing leaflets of the business in their places of worship I knew this was going to be great . It was also fun to spot various well known faces from TV sitcoms of that era . You made my Easter weekend. Thank you ❤️
Wendy, you should've been in, the carry ons, & a whole lot more.love your look&voice. I'll bet you're proud, though. They don't make 'em like this anymore, phwoarrr!!
1 hour in. "RELIGION! What Is It Good For? Absolutely NOTHING! (Say It Again Lord!) A great laugh. Thank you very much for uploading this film. Wendy you were great in it.
WOW. We definitely got an Eye Full of Wendy King in this movie. Beautiful Figure too 👌 Not sure why ?? But I kept getting the video sticking at the 35:00 mark 🤔😁
Really brilliant Wendy...Can I ask what was Joe Lynch like? He was well known here in Ireland. Seeing him as a young man in a picture of such good quality is a treat. Thank you
I remember an episode of this, where they each took on the others' religions. A line from John Bluthal, cracked me right up: How DARE you offer me meat on a Friday? I don't think that I've EVER laughed so hard.
My goodness! This film only appeared on UK TV once, on it's premiere on ITV in 1978, it was the same day that Pope Paul VI died, in fact the newsflash was immediately after the film! I always wonder if that's the reason it's never been on TV since, in case it's cursed!
@Gregory Jones In those days movies had to be at least 5 years old before TV was allowed to show them, This movie was probably made after the TV series finished in 1972
Many thanks for uploading this. Do you know when this was taped off the television? My guess would be early '80s because of those glimpsed ads (which are great). I'm wondering if the nudity in two scenes was slightly cut for this showing - it was originally a AA and the running time here is a bit short of what it says on imdb.
G'day to you Wendy, I was only 23 when I saw this Movie, your part in it ,at this Tender Age made me search for a Girlfriend just like you! PS Didnt find one ,but it was Fun looking!
WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 What a very funny movie & well acted by all. GOD--Wendy sure was a gorgeous looking young lady & her body! !!!!!!!!!!! From a mad keen 75yo Aussie fan.
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view!" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"

This reminds me of an extended version of the Benny Hill Show, from the late '70s or early '80s. It was broadcasted late at night.

@@wendyking3852 Hello what part of the world you are watching this from??
Such a great character..
The film wasn't up to much, but at least by watching it ive discovered the gorgeous Wendy King, another 1970s stunner.
As a boy I was an extra on this film, got a bit excited when Wendy King was in a scene nearby! 😉
So funny!🙂Good memories...
I remember an episode of this, where they each took on the others' religions.
A line from John Bluthal, cracked me right up:
How DARE you offer me meat on a Friday?
I don't think that I've EVER laughed so hard.
This film is so obscure I can't find it in my big book of MGM films so it never hit the state's.
I remember watching this film in the Church on Maple Street 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
Joe Lynch, David Kelly and Eddie Byrne. The greats of Irish Talent. All you need is Jimmy O’Dea.😉☺️
Thanks for this upload Havnt seen the film version of this sitcom of two religions tailors clashing under the same business
real Powel and Driver touch - certainly inspiration for french The Mad Adventures of Rabbi Jacob
@MichaelKingsfordGray hä?

As a young boy I had the hots for Wendy King. Hubba Hubba 😍

Was the man playing Murphy also Reilly the dodgy builder on Fawlty Towers ?????
Yes he Certainly was
@Martin Nugent yes, have seen it. Have been acquainted with the line producer. Who had nothing but praise for the entire cast and crew.
@10.21 the guy on the right is the builder o'reilly from faulty towers!
+Hrh Fish He was also a one armed dish washer in Robin's nest!!! Very funny character
+Hrh Fish xI think his name is David Kelly.
+Hrh Fish He was also the one armed dishwasher in Robins Nest
And he was The STAR of The Waking of Ned Devine, in an unforgettable performance. A very lovely actor, always delighted us.
he was also in willy wonka with johnny depp before he passed away
