Having Dehya send us off is something I didn't know I wanted, yet also didn't want to feel like crying 2 minutes into the quest....

bruh fr like i just wanted to start the fontaine journey and now they got me sad af 1 minute into the quest.
Few things to note about this entire quest:
-If you noticed the Fontainian man that was watching us in Caravan Ribat while we were speaking with Dehya appeared again next to Furina when she was asked how did she knew that the traveler was gonna show up in Fontaine. Clearly she sent spies after us back in Sumeru and then acted as if she anticipated our arrival to add to her grand entrance. Clearly she has been keeping an eye on the traveler for some time.
-This is actually insane but both Lyney and Blade from Honkai Star Rail share the exact same English voice actor, Daman Mills.
-Navia's vision is geo, making her the first new geo character to appear in the game since Yunjin nearly a year and a half ago.
-The House of Hearth is an orphanage owned and looked after by The Knave, Arlecchino, that looks after children and eventually recruits them into the fatui. This isn't the first time we hear about it in the game though. We've met people who came from that house many times in side quests around the game. Sadly the house's reputation wasn't good from those quests, as we even helped couple of NPCs who were raised there to leave the house, indicating that it's not all rainbows and sunshine there.
-Furina most likely doesn't have a split personality, she just talks to herself a lot.
-...Are we just gonna ignore how the game took a dark turn and mentioned actual p*dophilia and human tr*ffecking? That noble that took Lynette had a basement full of specifically young orphan girls. I shudder to think what would've happened to them if Arlecchino didn't show up...
Furina does have a split personality. We just haven't seen the darker side of her yet.
And yes, I'm quite surprised the game hinted at trafficking and and the likes. That's quite brave. I have high hope for the story to get more darker from here.
since monstadt the story was really grim and dark but can only be found on flavor text for items or books It's just here in Fontaine that they had the actual balls to display it on a voiced quest

this is pretty weird, one half of the community hates furina and the other half loves her, i genuinely haven't seen a single person being neutral towards her, although it kinda makes sense considering her unusual personality
I'm quite neutral about it, She's bad as a person she's probably gotten many jailed or killed due to wanting entertainment. And yet I can't hate her because she's silly and funny but until further chapters I'm neutral about her.
I hate her when I hear her EN voice, it's the most irritating one second only to Paimon's, I'm somewhat enjoy her character in JP voice-over
She's basically a more eccentric Fischl and she was like or dislike similar to marmite.

The way she imediately changed it into a court duel clearly shows she was scared there, she realised the traveler just wouldn't budge to her like everyone else.
It's fun to know that she is willingly putting up a front but is actually very scared and with not that high self esteem.

Jeikage to answer the inquiry you had as to WHY Lynette is a Ka'tzlein (Genshin's version of a Cat person) It's actually answered in the Lore, apparently it's explained as a "Recessive Gene" Lynette & Lyney's Great Grandfather was a Ka'tzlein, apparently when the two were small children they were abandoned for this reason apparently the parents were afraid of this fact becoming known. Really dook dook reason to abandon one's children in my honest opinion. Kids deserve better nobody likes a crappy selfish parent nevermind both.

@@silverhawkscape2677 Your Partly correct. It was Lyney and Lynette's Ungle and Aunt the Elder siblings aka the "Main Branch Family" that cast out their parents along with their infant twins. You see due to the whole recessive gene thing the head family the ones at the top, thought the wife had cheated and was having affairs. Even though the husband kept trying to explain it to the head family what the cause was, nobody believed him the result..Was a noble scandal issue so the main branch kicked the two of them out and cut them off essentially forcing the parents to live in poverty..Eventually both the twin's parents died it's undeternined WHAT killed them. It just goes to show some Nobility are willing to crucify their own kin just to save face. Apparently Lyney never forgave their Uncle and Aunt. Honestly if HoYo decides on a "Vengence" storyline for the twins, I'd be totally for it. I'm sure many "travelers" would be into that route too.
I found all the people overreacting about Furina's Attitude and Personality. Yes, she's annoying but I never realize how funny she is. Of course, all of the archons are different. Its not like she's the worst character you've ever seen

I like it, it would drive me crazy if all the anchons were the same.
It's because people (probably a bunch of kids but also always online adults) take things too personal. They don't see characters as characters but for some reason as real people so they have this desire to treat them how they would a real person. Furina is completely fine, they're all just projecting insecurities and made up scenarios for a fictional character. Just take it as cringe online behavior since no sane person would treat fiction as reality like they do

Furina's entrance is so good! Like you see a man from fontaine next to her, the same man we see earlier. She knew we were coming cus of her spies. Since she's small, she's standing on a box to look down at us. And we see her insecurities immediately when the crowd starts to doubt her. People hate her but I like her a lot. She's an insecure teen girl (physically and mentally, not age wise) and that's fine
Fun fact: did you know that if you go to the fountain in Fontaine you actually hear Furina crying just lower the sound and music but keep the dialogue sound on

The scene where there are two Furina's, that's her inner conscience every time she thinks that she nails her argument and or getting frustrated.
EDIT: Also judging from her behaviour, despite her bratty attitude, it's probably her defence mechanism, she's probably scared at everything surrounds her or even just a lonely.
After Act 2. Visit the Fountain Lucine and turn off all sound but the Dialogue and you'll hear Furina crying.
She's definitely pulling a "Sakura's Inner Voice" from Naruto

Furina doesn't have a second side of herself like Ei does. It's her inner thoughts and insecurity which she doesn't reveal through her body language because she's trying to act more confident and self-assured than she actually is
I think it's previous obvious that Arlecchino should NOT be trusted. The devs have been HEAVILY hinting at people wearing masks to hide their true interests. It's obvious that she is lying to the twins and wants the gnosis for her true intentions.
Childe and wanderers voicelines very much support this as well, its probably not a coincidence both of them suggest that arlecchino is not to be trusted

To me the Traveller’s attitude towards Lyney and Lynette after the Fatui reveal is completely understandable.
They withheld crucial information and put the trial in jeopardy and weren’t completely honest about who they were were.
The Traveller’s trust was understandably broken.
Not to mention that nearly every encounter the Traveller has had with the Fatui has been bad, the Fatui have hurt multiple people the Traveller hold’s dear in Teyvat and they’ve been betrayed by a Fatui who was acting like a friend (Childe) before.
Also in Childe’s case we are friendly although still somewhat on guard due to having so many run ins with him. The Traveller practically JUST met Lyney and Lynette and they are masters of deception by trade making it even harder to trust them.
Sometimes it can be inconsistent, personally. But the traveller seemed to have built up better ground of morals better before to have this reasonable reaction. Especially present in Sumeru.
Not to mention, from our experiences with the Doctor and Scaramouche, when he was still Fatui that is, would've left a lasting impression during the Sumeru arc seeing as how they aren't hiding how far they'll go to commit to their actions. Like, creating a God for example and using that as nothing more than an experiment?
@@Eternity116 I think what you see as inconsistent is probably more so circumstantial. Everything is case-by-case and, at least in this case, the Traveler is not in a great mood after the trial, understandably so. They did say, "I still can't completely trust you." They didn't say, "I can't trust you." That means that they're not severing any connection, that means that they're willing to give them another chance, but the bitter taste needs time to fade, and perhaps the players don't instinctively feel that as they're not actually at any sort of risk. We also have the meta-knowledge of the Traveler's plot armor as well as the assumption that they're inevitably going to help people, so when circumstances occur that push the Traveler away from those assumptions, their actions may not instinctively feel consistent, when really there's just a dissonance between the player's expectations and the character's present experience.

Mind you I've yet played Lyney's story quest, so I don't know the change in circumstance after that, but that does make sense after further thought of what you said, thank you. Also, when I say inconsistent, I was more so speaking of the past considering how they view some Fatui members in comparison to others. But, of course, this is all subjective to me and I may be dumb to just not understand. Though, your point does help the prior problems I had. ^^
@@Eternity116 I actually haven't played his CQ yet either, so we're on the same level of understanding here. But yeah, even in cases with Fatui NPCs during quests, shifts in attitude could literally be attributed to mood. It's not like we know what mood the Traveler is in at any given point (we all probably just have a baseline that we assume), but I feel that there's enough reason for the Traveler to take issue with the Fatui that their mood alone could justify their various behaviors throughout the game. I do understand how it's jarring, though, due to open world quests not establishing the Traveler's mindset before it begins.
And it's not really a case of being smart or dumb, it's about being able to piece together the circumstances in addition to a character's history to determine how reasonable their behavior is and why. If you forget certain things (or simply don't recall them at the moment to factor them in), you're not necessarily going to come to a fair conclusion. It's worth noting that the quest does explicitly lay out most of the reasoning for why the Traveler is irate, it just happens far enough before the end of the trial that the player might easily forget the details.
It starts at 2:24:00 with the Traveler's inner thoughts, and later is further supported voluntarily by Lyney during the adjournment. They just happened to run into two Fatui agents immediately upon entering Fontaine? Yes, the Traveler initiated, but we don't know what would have happened had they not. Additionally, even Lyney pointed out at the time that Lynette doesn't usually talk to people. Keep in mind that, as Fatui agents, the two of them knew who the Traveler was on sight, regardless of their intentions. It's not just their affiliation with the Fatui that gives the Traveler reason to be suspicious, but the fact that they did actively hide something from them, personally. You're supposed to tell your lawyer everything, otherwise they can't defend you if those details are raised by the opposition. It is literal proof that they can't be completely trusted. And as for how the Traveler left things as they left, I think it's fair for them to have a sour taste in their mouth after having been put in that position under false pretenses. No amount of empathy with the person that just broke your trust is going to completely wash away the bitterness immediately.
Imma be real, I blame Furina for even bringing it up on trial, it was irrelevant to the current case, but damaged the relationship between the Defedants (Lyney and Lynette) and the Defense (Traveler and Paimon).
Sorry, I've been playing Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Trilogy for the past couple of weeks and thought that Furina's arguments were baseless conjecture and had no connection to the current case
She's such a goober. Love and Neuvillette as a duo in charge, they're the perfect ying and Yang for each other yet they both share *the* burden... one we see and one we can hear.

Three Things Genshin has Consistently Done RIGHT
1 Archon Quests and Character development
2 World Building and Exploration
3 Music and Combat. (albeit some Characters do need "adjustment" or "Fine Tunning" Dehya, Hydro Traveler, Aloy for examples..)
At least Dehya is useable to a certain degree, and apparently she allocates well with a Lyney focused comp..
Dehya’s downtime is very long and damage is negligible so I don’t know about that
@@mmmkay2457 Damage is quite noticeable if you don't use Xianling tbf. However, it's a good excuse for me and others to use her. Arguably tho, her interruption resistance does provide some level of comfort and her downtime can be managed depending on rotation... albeit with some problems here and there. But I'm looking at it too positively since her present problems still exist. The downtime could be fixed by C2, but like... unless they have something like they do in star rail in their standard banner to choose specific characters, then it's very unlikely to get Dehya C2 unless you pulled hard on her limited banner. She really could've been better with some better adjustments, le sigh. But at least she works.
The archon quest surprised me, honestly. I thought Sumeru stepped it up, with some noticeable flaws here and there, but nothing to offset me too much and get me derailed by the brutality and tearjerker of a climax with Nahida and Rhukadevata. But, DAMN, Fontaine started strong and will most likely keep up with the pacing and level they currently have in later archon quests. Glad to see they've taken more considerations in the story, can't wait to see more.
Bringing Kokomi to Fontaine just felt right, everything seemed fitting for the Kokomi.
Furina has the best eye pattern next to hu tao and nahida. Also fontaine has the best music hands down (Your game bugged out at the rain part btw)

Traveler is so done with this and I love it. Like, they just want some info but constantly being dragged into some sh*t with people lying and wanting to do all their jobs for them, I'd also be tired of it and say "not my problem, bye"
I actually felt bad about the traveler not wanting to trust the twins after all that but I guess I can kinda understand where they're coming from given how horrible our experiences have been with the harbingers in the past.
I hated the traveler when they were acting so heartless when lyney needed to give their past which was sad enough but the traveler still needed to be like that lmao, hated the traveler nerve at that

Weirdly, our experiences with Harbingers and Fatui haven't been entirely bad, we've seen plenty of good Fatui members. So far the only truly bad Harbingers the traveller would've met was Signora and Dottore as Signora was pulling the strings in both Liyue and Inazuma dragging along Childe in Liyue and Dottore had been manipulating Scara who's completely abandoned the fatui. We've seen two bad and two morally grey harbingers with Cino sounding like she might be the latter. I think it's being made clearer and clearer that the original villains aren't what we thought. It seems like more and more the true villains might be Celestia.
Also Signora might've had a chance at morally grey but lost herself in anger and was struck down before the traveller could truly learn the truth about her.
@@lacytaylor1501the fatui have stirred the most trouble from liyue to sumeru that the traveler has to deal with. naturally, the traveler would hate them. yes, weve seen fatuis who just work to work for their own needs but that does not excuse the way they are operating. despite talking to lyney and lynette for a whole few days, the traveler has put their trust in them, especially since theyre new to fontaine.
even to this day, the traveler still holds some hostility towards childe.

After watching this I just realized that Childe really has a connection with the confrerie of something something where the head is Marcel. Childe is the one that collected the debt in front of the blacksmith. I just don't know if it's a factor for the oratrice's decision. 🤣
That's Northland bank, keep in mind the entire trial against lynney was a plot to get the futui to take the fall for the disappearances case

Northland Bank is owned by fatui tho, and Marcel or Vache is from Snezhnaya, plus we also don't have idea how did he know or at least discover the water from Primordial Sea when it's supposedly in Fontaine (eg was it purely accidental when Vigneire touched the water? But he said that the disappearances happened way before he came to Fontaine - might be related to Arlecchino but is hard to prove right now). Everything's getting exciting lmao.
@@ahrisse6528 his story about only appearing 20 years ago is likely false, afterall he was saying it as Marcel, the created identity after his partner was dissolved in front of him. In the cutscene it shows him and his partner in adventurer garb, so that explains how they'd come across it.
Also yes Northland is futui owned but nobody actually knows that, suspected yes but I doubt anyone except those like ninguang actually know the connection
Also I'm pretty sure the gnosis is inside the judgement machine, meaning lenny and Lynette were the best ways of getting to it quietly, and considering the heavy presence of guards and machines, there won't be a peaceful loud extraction

Wow Furina, she's one of the first characters ive met that i both love and hate. Her bratty behavior at first was kinda unbearable to me but seeing more and more of her made that personality of hers more likeable to me. Especially with the developments further through the archon quest. Her being a bit egotistical (if thats the right word) was the one that made me not like her at first but seeing her more serious side, i could tell she means business if needs be and i feel like ill grow to like her even more as more quests come up in fontaine. Also its really hilarious how she tries to save face everytime she makes a mistake.
She's hilarious, that's for sure.
Also, she's bratty but more tolerable than Scaradouche IMO

Hanging out with Navia during the trial made me love her the most out of the Fontaine cast so far. I’m so tempted to pull for her even tho she’s another Geo Claymore.
Def gonna pull for the Archon, Clorinde, and the Chief Justice for sure tho.
After this quests I still don't Trust Arleccino. Especially that the 2 Harbingers that are somewhat in Neutral terms with us doesn't like her at all.
From what I’ve seen, Arrlechino is a case of “good intentions, shit person.” Lyney’s damage is subtler than most of her “children,” but he’s all but confirmed he’s being groomed to be the next “actor” for the arrlechino “role.” As for the rest of them... there was one shrine maiden in Inazuma who was heavily traumatized by Arrlechino’s “parenting,” and Freminet’s behavior just SCREAMS “victim of child abuse.” Especially his leaked voice lines.
Essentially, discount Hua is shaping up to be a serial child abuser. Not the best first impression. Tartaglia kills people sometimes, but he’s affable and generally lets his foes live when he can get away with it. Scaramouche was a little shit who talked a big game, but once he was away from the poisonous influence of Dottore and Pierrot (and RECOGNIZED that he was being manipulated) he basically immediately set out to do genuine good. He bitched about it, sure, but “hat guy” is a respected scholar of the akademiya and personal aide to the Dendro Archon. Arrlechino? How many of her “children” have met their end by our blade? How many children have been “disposed of” for refusing to kill?
Scardouche really doesnt seem to like anyone until he became the Hat Guy.

Fontaine is great, i laughed so much with Furina's character she is so funny and smug
This quest is easily the best Act-I of archon quests so far. We jump right into the drama/action as soon as we enter the border and it just pulls all the central characters of Fontaine into the story seamlessly (except the main antagonist).
Inazuma and Sumeru had very slow starts, while Mondstadt and Liyue had the central plot introduced quickly but slowed down a lot after that.

nah i okay on ps5 and it was raining during the dialogue so i’m not sure why it’s not for his? most likely just a bug, sometimes it happens with the weather in this game and has nothing to do with what console you’re playing
For those who complained about Furina let me tell you what I think of her!
To me she looks and she’s as Mad as a Hatter but has the authority power as the Queen of Hearts! Yes I’m comparing her to Alice in Wonderland but you see where I’m getting at? Let’s be real she tried to arrest us over breaking her ridiculous laws and also calling Paimon a Flying Object awfully rude her Main Title is Emergency Food!
Her calling Paimon a flying object made me laugh because that would've been my excuse "Oh, you...uh don't need to worry about this thing, it's remote controlled"

Their Grandfather was a cat person and the cat-like traits are some sort of recessive gene. The gene manifested in Lynette but not in Lyney.

Fun Fact: Clorinde (at least her JP VA as far as I'm aware) Also Voices 2B from Nier Auto Mata, Alpha from Punishing Gray Raven *YOWAI !!* , Mikasa from Attack on Titan, and Stelle from Star Rail just to name a few Absurdly Popular roles. The Woman is exceedingly well Loved by both the Gaming and Anime Communities alike. Plus Clorinde seems to be like a Fusion between 2B and Alpha's personalities and actions of Quite sword swinging badass.

Furina for me was one of those characters that pissed me off, but It was blatantly obvious that that was the point. If I thought that Hoyoverse wasn't trying to make us hate her at first, than my feelings towards her would be vastly different. You can tell right away that there's more to the character than what were shown right at the start, so despite how obnoxious she is, I'm really looking forward to what her story unfolds to be. Nahida is still my favorite, but she could definitely take 2nd place if her story pans out like I'm expecting it to.
