Top management won't change. They have to please the Stock investors. TCS will forever bid cheap maintenance projects and pay peanuts to developers. If TCS rectified it then CTS will bid that project for a cheap price and pay peanuts. So IT service based companies are like thread mills. Earn and save as much as possible and exit before 50. Product based companies will have layoffs because of the high package. At the end of the day earn and escape and have an exit plan.

Nice discussion and points by Sudhir
IT life is tough for everyone but especially people above 40.
    1) It is not easy to switch jobs after 15 years of experience
    2) The opportunities are less , as companies want their existing employee to get promoted
    3) The package will be less , due to demand & supply .
    4) Mostly people in early 40 will have Children and aging parent to take care .. Need to take for Hospital visits ..
    5) It is not easy to study new technologies due to Family commitments & other stress
    6) Body doesn’t respond like early 20 at this age ,
    7) Due to Home loan EMI and family commitments can’t quit Job easily ..
This younger generation in early 20 are better since most of them understand IT life after age of 40 is not easy .. so they start planning early

In corporate life, one thing we should follow is follow the orders of the managers. If you are against your immediate manager then you will not grow. Politics, favouritism - all exists in a corporate life which you've to overcome otherthan the targets which are set by the company. You will never have free time to invest on some preparations for career shifting as you are already engaged and piled up with all the hectic works everyday and all the day you are running like anything and chasing the targets. As Mahesh you mentioned the only way by which you will understand this is when your body goes un well you will realise the effects of work pressure. With this existing system it's really bad for the society who have many dreams while the entering into a job as a fresher gets a bad boss and gets trapped in this loop and can't get out of this. This video really made me to think of myself how I have been in the past and present. But I have today learnt something from you that we should try to break this and come out of the shell. Thank you for your valuable information and thoughts

The biggest problem is our education system and parenting builds a clerical attitude and low self-esteem which is played by top management. Your self-confidence and self-esteem is more important than skill set.Dont take crap from anyone and don’t let anyone demotivate you.

Have you ever fought for manual scavengers…there are so many horrible jobs and we should fight for all of them. During covid I had to go to office and work becoz my boss would lay off. I did it but cannot imagine doing it in my 50-60s. The point is IT jobs seem to have certain comfort which many cannot even dream. It’s important to respect and acknowledge those comforts too. This incident is not due to IT work but a horrible manager or boss. These kind of people exist in all fields. It is important to bring such bosses into public - file lawsuits against them. The whole field is not bad but only some people are bad that’s all I am trying to say.

Am handling 2 roles at the same time. They keep dumping everything on the people who is working. They also need people who doesnt work simply because they will listen and do whatever they want. On positive side what i am seeing is that am having good learning by handling multiple roles. I know anytime they can fire me. But this learning will help us to survive outside.

Credit card and House Loans are another way to trap the salaried employees. Always better (or must) to have "EXIT Plan" to our financial commitments of our life.

Stupid thought process. I am an individual contributor in an MNC. if I feel pressurized, I raise it to my boss. Work-life balance is not the managers' or the organizations' responsibility. It is up to the individuals to take care of their work-life balance. and nobody forces people to work late regularly. if they don't waste their time during the day, they don't have to sit late nights. some days when there is a deadline, yes everybody works late. that is an anomaly. if you're sitting late regularly, take lessons on scheduling. If an individual fears for their position or fears the manager's wrath, it is in their heads. raising you as a weak individual is not the manager's mistake. grow a pair and stop blaming others for your inadequacies. if you really are looking for someone else to blame, blame your parents. if you really feel that IT is not for you, go find some other job that coddles you.
