Heaton's public image did not take a hit. It's called diversity of thought. You have to love the bias. Somehow Boyle's image didn't take a hit. I think they had more in common they this lets on.
Great show all the main characters were awesome. But Robert was my favorite excellent comedic talents! Still watch it almost every night. When u never tire from re-runs you know the show is fantastic comedy.
As unfortunate it is, and it pains me in a way I'm not sure how to explain. I get how people could have issues with others and what not. But it's just remembering these shows with a fondness. More or less having a moral/ lesson at the end. It kinda sucks hearing about the issues they had with themselves or others. Guess that's why it's called acting, huh?
I didn't watch the show during its run bc I was working. I've watched the reruns multiple times. I find every episode funny! One of my favorite episodes is when Ray gets jealous of the comment Debra made about Robert being handsome. Ray ends up getting a spray tan & slicking his hair back.
Patricia Heaton makes 160K per episode (and later 250K) and pays her assistant less than 800 a week. Being sued for $7400, that is pocket change for someone making 160K per week, (even when conisdering that a portion of that 160K goes to agents and more). Having that kind of income, I would be embarrassed by NOT paying my assistant more. Not a suprise then to hear she is a conservative. So sad, and I thought she was really hot... until then.

Do you believe everything because you read it. We don't really know much about this story. If a job is worth $800 then that is what you pay. What does that have to do with what Heaton was earning.

I watched it then, but I find the Ray/Debra dynamic of whiny husband/killjoy wife has aged poorly since then. I'm glad for the fans that they have nine seasons, and I say that they are welcome to them.

I thought the show itself was toxic and I could feel the conflict that was going on behind the scenes. Awful people living awful lives. Quite the opposite of Seinfeld, where they loved performing together. I watched it but not regularly.
Absolutely agree. Could not stand all that bickering. I know it was written that way and it was supposed to be funny, but having grown up in a dysfunctional family, I never thought it was.
It was one of the smartest plans from the beginning when it was said the show "was not really about the kids" as family sitcoms almost always make the same mistakes when the children outgrow their young roles! I don't think I've ever watched an episode of this I was very disappointed in and that says a lot!

Debra was great! Whether ripping Ray for trying to give her meds for her PMS (bottle didn’t say it cured “Bitchy”); ripping Frank for siding with Ray on the suitcase left on the steps episode’s; getting really snarky with Monica for trying to give her and Ray marriage advice; ……..! I have been married for 57 years and my wife and I could see ourselves in this great show so many times!
@@FactsVerse It’s hard to pick one from so many great shows but I believe my favorite was when all the Barone’s went to Amy’s parents for Thanksgiving (no TV, killing the wounded bird, the traditional Thanksgiving pageant with the Barones playing the Indians and McDougall’s playing the pilgrims)! Great episode with every character integrally involved including Chris Elliot as Peter!
One of my favorite episodes is when Marie tells Debra that she & Frank no longer have sex & it turns out that they're having more sex than Ray & Debra. That uncomfortable feeling of knowing about your parents sex life.
Despite a great cast, I found Everybody Loves Raymond a very stressing show to watch. It's premise almost demanded stressful situations. The relationships between all the characters was stress filled, even between Romano and Heaton. And it goes on from there. Ray and his brother, Ray's parents living across the street was a constant stressor, Garret's love relationships, and his ultra religious inlaws caused a lot of stress full situations with the Barons. And it goes on and on. But I still watch it occasionally despite it all.

I love this show. I think it's one of the greatest sitcoms of all time. I've seen every single episode at least 5 times.
