Sim Snuka had already had a decent run in WWE as Deuce, part of the Deuce 'n Domino tag team. The Bam Neely name was a reference to Cam Neely, an NHL (ice hockey) player known for both his scoring prowess and physicality.
I grew up with Daniel Bryan rise in 2013,14. And supported Roman during fan resentment as a kid. Now almost 21. WWE was good from 2013-2017 in my eyes, despite the fact I know most would strongly disagree. I remember always seeing videos online saying “don’t do roman in the wm main event” every year and would hope so much wwe wouldn’t listen 😂😂
@@markula_4040 You can go back and watch The Golden Generation, The New Generation, The Attitude Era and the Ruthless Aggression Era etc. Not saying that they were all perfect and never had any bad moments, but the PG Era doesn’t hold a candle to any of them.
The Dudebusters are part of one of my favourite pieces of wrestling trivia. In 2010, they were on SmackDown! And in the middle of a losing streak. Yet, they inexplicably defeated The Gatecrashers (Curt Hawkins & Vance Archer), who were on a winning streak at that point. And both teams dissolved soon after, with Croft and Archer getting cut later that year. Plus, I think The Dudebusters had been Heel until that point.
I would add Kizarny to the list, I thought I knew 2009 WWE until I watched an episode of Smackdown and saw this guy I never heard of before, 0 people talked about him since 2010 probably lol
I 100% remember Ricky Ortiz. He botched a top rope spot at Survivor Series '09 and he went and redid the move in time for the delay to edit the miss out. I was there live.
All these forgotten superstars shoulda all gone to TNA and later to AEW. I betcha they all had amazing charisma that Vince McMahon was too senile to view in them. I'm sure they could have all made it big had they stuck with wrestling.
I was a huge fan of Eric Escobar. I saw his fcw matches and was excited when I saw he was getting called up. Don’t know why it didn’t work out with him
I actually remember most of this list. I'm surprised Sim Snuka's run as Deuce from Deuce n Domino wasn't mentioned. That was a more notable run as they won the tag titles from Brian Kendrick and Paul London. The fact that he was the "camera man" who didn't catch Undertaker at Mania 25 is also not mentioned but I could see not wanting to bring something like that up in a list like this.
Back in 2010 I was in FCW's wrestling school. Steve Keirn took one look at me and said "you remind me of Bam Neely". Thats when I knew my career prospects were dead in the water.
fun fact: Lena Yada is married to Disturbed lead singer David Draiman. I remember both Manu and Sim Snuka. Sim Snuka had a great run as part of the Deuce n Domino tag team along with Cherry. both Manu and Sim are part of the Anoa'i wrestling family which makes them members of The Bloodline. I also remember Eric Escobar. I however don't remember Bram ever being in the WWE.
I was genuinely surprised i remembered a few of these guys. I actually remember liking the Dude Busters specifically and Eric Escobar was…just there to me. He was a little charismatic? From my memories. Some I don’t remember at all such as the woman on this list then again given the era of women wrestling I’m not shocked unfortunately. Bam Nelly I remember him just never a match he was in. Cool list
Umm, for those who don't know. Prior to the Attitude Era, WWE was ALWAYS IN THE PG ERA. Also, Lena Yada was released when it was found out she was nude in a movie prior to joining WWE.
Even FEWER know that SmackDown, Heat and Metal were ALWAYS PG; they're just TV guidelines. The kiddification had more to do with the sponsors and merch sales to kids/families, making it a Vince/Dunn call. In fact ALL WWF TV was still TV-PG midway into 1998; it was the KOTR PPV that caused the TV-14 change...

Wait, when did the Ruthless Aggression era end and the PG era begin? Lena Yada was brought up being in the year 2005. If the HHH era ended the PG era, that would mean the PG era lasted around 20 years!
WWE's problem is that they diminished a lot of good wrestlers who made thier name outside of WWE. Most of them could've been pretty successful in their company, so we wouldn't be seeing so many failed wrestler experiments.
The OG Acesnsion gimmick had the best entrance going at the time. Was very much playing into Twilight and other vampire shows of the time. Was weird to then see Connor being called The Ascension as a solo wrestler before Viktor got paird with him
