Just started reading deep blue & I cannot put it down!! Almost done & ive already ordered then next book of the series. looking forward to reading some more of these mermaid books you’ve recommended, thank u!!! 💗
Yay ! Not sure if you're an audio fan. But audible is having a huge sale and I just shared a bunch of the mermaid audio books that are on sale on my Instagram stories!
The three (or rather just one due to me, only reading one from beginning to end, while the others or just the first one book and that’s it for the most part, possibly four if you don’t count just the audiobook) book series was the Serena Legacy, the Emily, wind, snap book and deep blue, I’ve also listened to the Real Mermaids Don’t Wear Toe Rings audiobook, all to varying degrees of intrigue, as far as I was concerned. I myself have written a Power Rangers fanfiction about two mermen and a mermaid becoming Power Rangers in order to combat this thing that caused their bio parents to send them to the dryland when they were babies, or rather minnows/fingerlings.
@11:35 Glad someone else loves "Emily Windsnap" too! I began reading the series as a middle grader, they were a big part of my childhood I even made a video summarizing the 1st book :) --> th-cam.com/video/lWHbBgjaY-g/w-d-xo.html
I know this video is sort of old, but thank you so much for making it!! I just finished reading the Waterfire Saga for the first time, and am currently reading Daughter of the Pirate King, and so I was looking for mermaid book recommendations! I’ve been obsessed with mermaid since I was a very young child, so I’m looking forward to checking these out! Also, kind of random, but you seem like such a kind, fun person!
I talk about Emily in this video love it! I've read water fire saga also. So good! I'm gonna do an update version of this video this summer before my mermaid readathon starts!
I read The Siren by Kiera Cass a couple years ago, it was okay, it was different, I dont think they were "mermaids" in the sense of half fish half girl, I dont recall the book describing them having tails, just a fancy oceanic dress type outfit once they go into the ocean. The sign language aspect was interesting
The ocean being a character in the siren is quite strange and not my favorite. They're sirens, you are correct but since they spend a lot of time in the water and communicate with the ocean I still put it in this category for anyone who enjoys a mermaid/siren read. I did like the sign language too!
@@brightsidegirl oh for sure, I agree, they definitely are kind of the same category as mermaids, it was just an ok book for me, it was a good one time read but it didnt really satisfy my mermaid novel craving at the time lol, I'm on the hunt again!
Agreed it's one I enjoyed but not an all time fave! I have a lot of mermaid recommendation videos and there will be a lot more coming this summer to as well!!
I just want mermaid books where the mermaid isn’t a human for 90% of the story. If you’re gonna make them human for most of it anyway, what’s the point of writing a mermaid story?

I'm so glad you're liking it. That whole series is so great. If you like that one you're going to like a lot of the other recommendations I have!!
I remember reading the tail of Emily windsnap as a kid. I totally forgot what it was called but I remember really liking it.
I wish they had been around when I was growing up. I would've loved them even more!
I have Leigh Bardugo’s Language of Thorns and i loooove the stories there!!
And the twist of Little Mermaid’s origins left me speechless.
Oh my gosh the mermaid story in there is so good!!
The original little mermaid is brutal 😂
Thanks so much for these recs! I’ve been on a huge mermaid kick lately, so this list is awesome!

I love the watersong series by Amanda Hocking !! ;)
Me too, those books are great.
I enjoyed that one and finished it last year!

Have you ever read Rising by Holly Kelly? It is one of my favorite mermaid books.
Love your makeup in this one!
Lost voices are my favorite too
OH CRAP I should have re-read Peter and the Starcatchers for the readathon!! I've been meaning to for aaaaaages! My bad for not watching this sooner!!

@@brightsidegirl you’re welcome! The readathon sounds like a ton of fun! I’ve never done one before. ❤️
@@brightsidegirl cool, I’ll check out the videos, thank you!
I’d recommend the water fire saga and the tail of Emily windsnap series!

I tried to read Deep Blue once, I just couldnt get into it at the time, but maybe I'll try to give it another try sometime
The language is so weird it can take awhile to get used too. I felt odd about it at first but it really grew on me!

From your descriptions Forgive My Fins sounds a little like Ariel from The Little Mermaid
Really thank you for your lovely recomendations, you have read a looot about mermaids XD
What's the difference between Mermaids and Sirens?
Cause in Spanish the word for Mermaid is Sirena
@@brightsidegirl thanks for the clarity
New sub, love this list. To Kill a Kingdom, is my current read and I'm almost done, I actually really like this book
Wonderful books 📚 I want to read now 😚
OMG THE WAKE BOOK IN THE BACK
Yess! I have the full quarter and just found the Spanish covers too!

There aren't many sadly. But deep blue, into the drowning deep, lost voices, lies beneath and breakwater are a few! I just love all the vibes!
@@brightsidegirl thanks for all the suggestions!
Deep Blue and breakwater are under water kingdoms!
