I clicked and assumed it was Die Hard based on the reopening...but I can see how LW would fit. Oddly, not one we watched together as we were too busy searching the woods behind VL for dead bodies and freaking ourselves out. In my opinion, one of the best buddy cop flicks of all time!
Ah, memories and the influence of Stand By Me! 🤣 And 💯 to Lethal Weapon being one of, if not THE, best buddy cop movies ever!
Darlene Love sings the Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) song over the opening credits in Gremlins. When she went to see the movie with her kid, she was so proud...and then pissed off because she hadn't been paid the residuals she would be due. She famously sued Phil Spector (the song's producer) who claimed she wasn't really a "featured performer" and was just a "session performer" who had been paid her fee back-in-the-day. As if we didn't need more reasons to hate Phil Spector. She finally won her case in 1993 and received the royalties she deserved.
Nice trivia! And I’m glad she eventually got what she was owed.
Lethal weapon is amazing
Agreed! :)
@ what’s your favourite movie that you own on vhs? 😎😎😎🤣🤣📼
Mel Gibsonis arguebly one of the best actors that has ever existed.
Agreed! His acting work (especially the more dramatic stuff) is really underrated. And his work as a director never disappoints.
@momandpopvideoshop Yes, sir. Have you seen the movie Conspiracy Theory? It's great. They say the people who have the most inner demons are usually the best actors. I know that he struggled with addiction for a long time. He's better now, thankfully.
Yep! Saw it in the theater when it came out. It’s been a long time and definitely worth revisiting. I agree about inner demons. Most of the greatest artists had/have them. We appreciate their work perhaps in spite of and because of those demons.
@momandpopvideoshop Amen to that. It would take a lot for me to not like Mel. I grew up watching his movies and about every one of them were great. Have you noticed that there are no movie stars anymore? Movies used to be so good in the theater. Now most of them are just hor garbage.
💯!
