My brother kicked me out of his house when I suggested that they have a simple wedding potluck type of ceremony at their church, if they didn’t want to just go to the justice of the peace, like I would’ve done if I was in their shoes. Told them to do something simple and cheap and if they were still together in 10 years, I’d pay for their dream wedding. Then a few years later, he’s calling me asking me to borrow money. I asked him where were all of his guests who he fed and paid so much money for to have a lavish wedding. Told him, the money he spent on his wedding, he could’ve bought a house down in FL where he moved to, when he moved there, out right, without a mortgage nor debt. Some people!
When I met my now wife,from the 1st time I saw her on my birthday in 2011 I knew that she was going to be my wife and we got married on my birthday the following year,2012. We have celebrated our 12th anniversary this year.

I learned some things from this interview. The most important one is to sit down when having an argument. I’m going to be more mindful of that when I’m having a disagreement with someone, esp since my go to is to walk away from the conversation to cool down. Then later on, return. I also find that it helps me to not have too many/any arguments, when I keep my statements about how I feel in the moment instead of airing grievances about what the person did or didn’t do. I also like to accompany my I feel statement with something positive about the person, esp if the positive thing is a character that I not only want out of them, it’ll prevent the argument. I need to remind myself to do this with my comments on the internet as well. I need to do a better job remembering there’s someone at the other end not only reading what I’m writing. They don’t necessarily selectively read/listen to people the way I do.

I’ve been watching DFW(just noticed the abbreviation of the title of the podcast is also the abbreviation of Dallas Ft.Worth, which is where the podcast is based😆) This podcast is absolutely my favorite podcast. I definitely learn something every time I watch!
I wish the way she said she was worked for everyone. I would talk about him having a truck company and was working and going school so we would still be covered by any setbacks the business went through. I changed my degree to make sure I was knowledgable to help him run it because he only knew how to drive. When he was complaining about his job that he chose to do instead, I would get yelled at when I would just ask what does he want to do and suggest things when he would say he didn’t know. Being this way to a man who is not a good recipient of it can break your heart. No matter how much faith you have in your man if he doesn’t have any in himself, it’s useless.
Most truck drivers don’t like to stay in that field for too long because they get the ‘white line syndrome’, which is when they get fatigue looking at the white line passing them by on the highway as they drive. That’s not excuse for him to be yelling at you though. I regret to hear that you went through that.
The being with a man that is broke only applies to a man that has a strong mind and is motivated to do better. All men are different. Love Dear Future Wifey

When he was complaining about his job that he chose to do instead, I would get yelled at when I would just ask what does he want to do and suggest things when he would say he didn’t know. Being this way to a man who is not a good recipient of it can break your heart. No matter how much faith you have in your man if he doesn’t have any in himself, it’s useless.
Most truck drivers don’t like to stay in that field for too long because they get the ‘white line syndrome’, which is when they get fatigue looking at the white line passing them by on the highway as they drive. That’s not excuse for him to be yelling at you though. I regret to hear that you went through that.
