Met him here in puerto rico.
And jeff watson. And jack blades. They all were incredibly cool and signed all my stuff.
I took my yamaha rgx guitar and jeff and him signed it. I still have it.

Traded a Les Paul Custom for a Floyd Rose trem kit. Best trade Brad Gillis ever did. Got him his famous trem trill recognition. 😆🎸🤘🏼👍🏻

What! Ok ok. A Floyd for a LP Custom!? Man. We take so much for granted now, don't we?
And the way he customized this guitar. Carving into it like that! Guys would never do that now.
I'd be afraid the antenna wouldn't work, but that's obviously not the case.
What an interesting interview that was. I really enjoyed that.

Yeah but it's a hell of a job trying to route out the back of the body to fit a Floyd Rose bridge it's not really that hard to do but you do have to know what you are doing.

@@patrickshannon4516the FR original doesn't need routing, it's the bigger one that does, but in EVH case he didn't need to.

Imron paint is no joke. They used it on most semi’s before the new eurothane paints were invented. Used to be very expensive and hard to shoot.

Srv had countless necks and mods done, Angus young also had a huge hole for wireless, etc.
These idiots that think tone wood and vintage is a thing, just don't get it. It's about the pick up and the person. Brad can get this sound from anything. Angus had played 60s sgs and brand new, Srv had countless strats and parts.

    • @ckmoore101

Exactly. As long as your guitar can be tuned, has solid wiring, and intonated, thats the "framework". Wood don't mean shit when it comes to tone. Pickup, and fingers, that is 95% of a sound. You can make a tiny case for string quality/gauge... buts its tiny. String differences are mainly concerning playability (gauge vs ability to bend).

    Just an observation..
This has to be the third World Class Guitar Player I've seen stringing his guitar by hand..(Chris Holmes, Mick Mars, and now Brad..)
    Don't they use String winders?

      Why?
      I never use those.
      No need.

Does anyone know what in God's name, he's talking about filing the top of the plastic pickup for added top end crunch, how does that help??????

    • @johnnygtr000
      @johnnygtr000 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

The PJ Marx has a plastic casing like an EMG. Probably thick too, so sanding it down I think allowed him to get it closer to the strings for more output and it would be more like a regular plastic bobbin pickup without a cover.

No string winders in the 80s??? 😁

I started playing back in the 80's so I guess that makes me old like Brad is now. LoL I don't remember any string winders back then. First one I picked up was probably very late 80's to maybe early 90's and I was like WHAT A GREAT FREAKING IDEA! Made putting new strings on so much easier. Now everyone has one.

@@iliafigueroa4820 Haha must be a young soul. Well brother I'm very connected to my guitar and what I play more now then when I was young, but here's a pro tip for free. The less time you take to restring your guitar the more time you have to ACTUALLY play it. 😆 It really does speed things up so why not use one?

Those little gadgets really do worth well. I'd be willing to bet if you tried one you'd LOVE IT
