Awesome video! I'm excited to see what your channel will bring in the future. I love how you have music playing, but it's not overpowering or gimmicky. it just helps to reinforce the vibe of the place. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work!
Excellent video, love the chill yet informative vibe. Has a great Bob Ross Dan Bell ASMR vibe. Nice narration mixed with quiet ratio. Love the camera work. The footage of that round glass ceiling entrance way is striking, what a grand entrance in such a sad state, worse than a lot of abandoned houses. Nice vaporware soundtrack as well. The art deco checker board tiled free mason floor at the end is cool looking as well. Thank you
Wow! Great video! This is a great example of an old mall that looks more like a county college. Excellent voiceover and background music choices. I continue to document the signal hill mall down here near charlotte, NC and it has the same mold issues. I’m so surprised they still open the doors considering you can’t be in the place for more than a few minutes without beginning to itch. Thanks for posting this one!
Also, the leisure suits in that sad little display case and the odd triangle shaped benches are straight out of the 70s, too cool. Are either of those restuarants open? Hawaian Kitchen or Sunnys Lounge? Or are they long abandoned
Thanks for sharing! I believe the Hawaiian Kitchen is closed as a physical location and is now a food truck and Sunny's Lounge is still open. Not long abandoned, but definitely an omen of a dying mall is dwindling food options.
Thank you for the correction! I think I must have walked past ‘Everybody Eats’ that was open during my visit. It’s a shame the food options are so limited now and more restaurants closed
That mall was dead since it first opened, there were never many tenants in there and the people in that city never wanted that mall to begin with and they tore down historical structures for it.
Definitely would be a great conversion as long as any possible mold problems are remediated first! There is definitely an air quality issue in this mall
The guy who helped devolped the city (Ira Gates) didnt even wanna build the mall but had to because the city broke down tons of buildings opening up a lot of land but this area was vacant for years and thought it would be better to make a mall but because everyone moved to shop in the plazas in the city main street was made irrelevant

What an excellent narrator you are! Very well spoken. Intelligent and concise information. Thank you.
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it!

Sunny's closed in 2019@lina

Very eerie atmosphere! What did the notice on the Hawaii Kitchen door say?
The paper taped to the door was a city notice regarding the payment and use of the garbage and recycling dumpsters at the mall.

That one would make a good conversion to corporate offices, medical, small educational, or small scale shops.

Stopped there to use the bathroom in 1991 and the place was dead then. The stalls didn't have doors on them. Made that much of an impression on me.
Even though it has mold, it's good to know that the asbestos popcorn walls were painted over.
