Dear Sangeeta That is a very good question. Liberation means freedom from the bondage of ignorance that prevents us from knowing who we are and why we are here. There are three main bondages that tie us up to ignorance. The first is the veil thrown up by our ego and desire self. It keeps us tied to the surfaces of life. We get rid of desire by the sincere practice of nishkama karma. The knot of the ego is cut by constant surrender to the Divine in the heart or better still in the persona of the Guru or the Master. Through faith and devotion the inner veil is rent. The second knot is in the mind. It breaks open as the mind becomes quiet. The third knot of ignorance is the knot of habits and subconscient nature. It is slowly loosened as we become a witness of nature by learning to step back from the world of sense appearances and chains of thoughts. Affectionately Alok da

Yes of course. Thanks. Unfortunately most commentaries available until then we're largely using the Ishavasyopanishad to endorse eventual other-worldliness. We are not sure what exactly he saw in it or meant by it. But as such it makes a powerful statement.
