Ah, nothing beats the original Tomb Raider! I loved everything about this game, from the locations, interesting levels, cool story and puzzles, to the iconic classy but mysterious music. Its just one of those things that never gets old or boring. Like a movie you could put on constantly and it never looses its charm (cough Empire Strikes Back cough). Thanks Steven for taking the time to play the original TR. You get through so fast but skilled. I normally take 6 hours not 4.
You are totally right Sarah! Nothing will ever compare to the first and original TR1. The atmosphere and feeling of total isolation in the first game was never matched again! God, I love the classic Tomb Raider games so much. Back when your hand wasn't being held almost every minute, you had to figure everything out by yourself, the puzzles took some time to solve, the atmosphere perfectly matched each location (with or without music), and Lara Croft was a straightforward badass who jumped through as many hoops as it took to get what she wanted, consequences be damned. I know it seems useless at this point, but since this game is now fully playable at 60 frames per second, I don't suppose you'll do an updated playthrough in the future, will you? Your skill level amazes me and I love how high quality your videos are, which makes it all the better.
60fps? You mean OpenLara? Handling, camera etc. They all feel different. Very similar but not identical. They're an approximation. Tomb1Main on the other hand feels 1:1 cause, well, it is an exact replica result of the complete reverse-engineering of the game's code. But alas, it can't do 60fps just yet
Thank you so much for this. For taking the time to do it right, and not just rush through it. I was really wanting to relive the moment and you gave that to me. I look back now and wonder how the hell I figured out how to get there. You see it today and its way confusing without map markers or other support. Great play through, I really enjoyed watching you. Cheers.
Incredible playthrough. It's seamless. Very pleasing on the eye. With the announcement of the remaster games in feb, it made me want to see some gameplay again and the nostalgia is unreal. But it's almost like you designed every level the way you know every corner and every jump! Perfection. Well done
I was 11yrs old when this game came out. I have never completed it after all this time. This game is a classic. The games we have got now are good. But u can't beat the classics.
When I see this I have to think of all the other great PS 1 titles like Resident Evil 1-3, Parasite Eve 2, Tomb Raider 2 ... unforgetable. Of course everbody will have had their favorites but these ones are definately mine ty for playing this :)
Wow, this brings back memories. I use to panic playing this game. You made it look so easy. Fantastic gameplay. Thank you for this, enjoyed every second. 👍🙏
🤩🤩Great run. I could still remember a lot, but it took me many months to finish the game at the time. At that time still with a solution book on the PS1. Thanks for uploading, it was an exciting film.👍👍
I finally beat this game earlier today. It's been a few years since I started for the first time. And it won't be the last time I play and finish the game again. I'll definitely recommend it to whoever hasn't played it yet because even though it's tricky and a bit tedious with having to start over sometimes it's definitely worth playing.
Very good...I played this game decades ago when it was released, so it's certainly one of the most unforgettable and memorable games in history, because you feel like Indiana Jones himself in it.
This wasn't my favourite game on PS1, but it deffinitely is the most nostalgic one. The symbiosis of athmosphere and music is as perfect as perfection in games can go. If you hear the music or play the game, you just get the flashback of quiet darkened room with gunshot noises and climbing grunts.
Thanks for this walkthought. In my opinion, Tomb Raider 1 is still the best game ever made. Absolute classic. Im really looking forward to the remasters TR 1-3 made on the modern game engines.
Thanks for this walkthrough. So much easier than when I first played it on PS1 and there was no TH-cam. Just some book guides which were lacked any detail. Needless to say, Lara died a lot on my first run. Tomb Raider 1 is a Classic.
Thanks. This is a life saver. My son is playing this on my old PS1 and on a big screen TV. I actually think the big screen makes the graphics worse. We couldn't see 1 of the cog wheels from the Lost Valley.
How does this Game’s cutscenes look better than the “Remastered” versions?… This Game takes me back to my Brothers place he had this Game and I sat and beat it that Day. To this Day I don’t think he’s ever beaten the Game 😂
I will never feel the same way with a video game again, story, music, the big scenarios, camera movements... I was young and I saw the change from 16 to 32 bits. My friends and I were fascinated. I was happy and I didn't know it. I bought Tomb Raider at the beginning of its release, still no one knew the fame it would have later.
Why did she cut the rope? :-) Nice play. Clean jumps, 100% pickups. Steve is a true TR pro. That draw bridge at 3:37:11 almost caused me to quit the game. Must have tried it 50 times before I finally got it. Never thought of jumping the corners like that. RISKY! Why does it look so much better than my original disc, on Windows Vista with GLIDOS? This is still, to this day, one of the coolest video games EVER! I remember when this game first came out, everyone in our office was standing around my computer monitor watching the demo with our tongues hanging out. They even did a piece on it on Good Morning America. Katie Couric referred to Lara Croft as "The sexiest female Indiana Jones". What a media crazed genuine cultural sensation. Thanks to everyone who made it. LCWLY4EVR

I am not sure about 60 fps plan, but yeah maybe someday. I would like to focus on my study first 😅
Cheers.
It's my honor. I am so delighted to bring back such a good feeling and memories to ya. Thank you man 😀
This video is great because of how methodically done it is.
Less than 4 hrs, I'm impressed! As always great playthrough!
I absolutely love this game it was the first game I ever brought when I bought a PlayStation.
Wow. it's good for you 😀 I only saw my brothers and sister played TR3 and TR4 on PSX
@@stevenPCGaming I have all the tomb raider games for PlayStation 1 to 4.
This game captures that eerie feel so perfectly. The sounds and music.
And feeling of isolation
Agree 👍 😊
Incredible playthrough. It's seamless. Very pleasing on the eye. With the announcement of the remaster games in feb, it made me want to see some gameplay again and the nostalgia is unreal. But it's almost like you designed every level the way you know every corner and every jump! Perfection. Well done
Thanks for such generous compliment. I enjoyed playing this classic TR all over again. Can never forget how TR fill in my childhood memories 😄
I absolutely love how Lara is in a tank top and shorts in Peru.
You mean because it's an Islamic shithole?
Looks are most important. Freezing to death is secondary 😆😆
Flawlessly played. Throughly enjoyed, brought back SO much nostalgia. The second Tomb Raider is my favourite but this is a close second.
Thank you 😄
I was 11yrs old when this game came out. I have never completed it after all this time. This game is a classic. The games we have got now are good. But u can't beat the classics.
yeah, nothing can beat classic era. Nostalgia no doubt 😍
I still have this game on my tablet and of course all the originals. Never gets old. Love OG Lara
That's good to know :D
How did u get it on your tablet?
@@gumball06baby I downloaded YEARS ago before they took it off the play store.
@@brentneykaye7022 yea I remember should of got it man
@@gumball06baby if you need it you can still play it on your android phone I still have it on my phone
When I see this I have to think of all the other great PS 1 titles like Resident Evil 1-3, Parasite Eve 2, Tomb Raider 2 ... unforgetable. Of course everbody will have had their favorites but these ones are definately mine ty for playing this :)
Thanks for this mate. Strangely find it so relaxing watching old tomb raider videos respect mate
Thanks man. Glad you like it 😊
Born in the late 80s how nostalgic is this. Love the music and the sounds. What a feeling this gave me.
I remember when i first encountered the T-rex . The music change was terrifying . Amazing game
for me it was in TR2. And the T-rex just rushed out of the small cave in the pit 🤣
Wow, this brings back memories. I use to panic playing this game. You made it look so easy. Fantastic gameplay. Thank you for this, enjoyed every second. 👍🙏
hahhaa I only panicked for T-rex popped out when I was 5, playing with my sis 🤣
@@stevenPCGaming I panic now. Can never do the end of tomb raiders. Lol
Still the best sound & music of any game. Perfect feeling of isolation and loneliness which the game set out to achieve.
Thank you for helping me in the Remastered Tomb Raider 1-3. It helped a lot going back and forth and also watching your pro walkthrough. Thank you.
No problem. Thanks for watching 😉
You gotta also love the atmospheric sounds in this game. Gives one the feel of being in these cavernous spaces.
Most of soundtracks in TR1 are immersive. But somehow reused in TR2 can be a little bit weird 😆
What a great adventure this was back then 👍😊❤️
This wasn't my favourite game on PS1, but it deffinitely is the most nostalgic one. The symbiosis of athmosphere and music is as perfect as perfection in games can go. If you hear the music or play the game, you just get the flashback of quiet darkened room with gunshot noises and climbing grunts.
❤LARA CROFT TOMB RAIDER❤
I frigging love Lara croft she is so hot beautiful and badass.
back when videogames were innovative and exciting. thanks for revisiting this seminal title!
No problem. Glad to bring back nostalgia vibes to ya'll :D
It took me like a month to beat this game back in 06. Only got like 20% of gems and all that . You are a master lol
Not really haha. There are lots of good players better than me 😅
@@stevenPCGamingI think you playing great was having a hard ass time playing this on the original ps1 lol😅
@@justingregorylugo5151 don't worry 😂 I'll never get used to playing it with any gamepads or controllers 🤣
Thanks for this walkthought. In my opinion, Tomb Raider 1 is still the best game ever made. Absolute classic. Im really looking forward to the remasters TR 1-3 made on the modern game engines.
Grandes aventuras con nuestra querida lara croft!este juego es una maravilla!felicitacines y saludos
Muchas gracias. De hecho, es una buena aventura. Especialmente son nuestros buenos recuerdos del pasado. 🥰
We couldn't see 1 of the cog wheels from the Lost Valley.
the graphic was limited by the hardware itself. No wonder you can't find the cog wheels . 😅
I missed the cog wheel that was under water. I couldn't see it at first!
Fantastic! Had this playing in the background while working. So much nostalgia, excellent gameplay here too!
thank you 😄
How does this Game’s cutscenes look better than the “Remastered” versions?… This Game takes me back to my Brothers place he had this Game and I sat and beat it that Day.
Amazing to think that 2026 will be Tomb Raider's 30th anniversary!
Ah, yes ! :D
True 👍 ✔️ 😊
I played this when i was 16 and i loved it.... thanks for upload 😊
My pleasure 😊 🙏
The first five Tomb Raiders and Thief The Dark Project give me so much nostalgia for the '90s.
Awesome video good Job I in joy it thanks for the video I Love it how are you my friend have a good day and Night ❤👌👍
1:26 you have more restraint than any TR fan avoiding turning yourself to gold.
Every. Single. Run
🤣🤣🤣
Why did she cut the rope? :-)
Nice play.
LCWLY4EVR
I love the enemy health bar! An excellent touch!
and with that we can see how tough those enemies are in first TR 😅😅
Oh man I love this game. I was living in Europe, this was my first game on PlayStation. Me my wife and kids stayed up to 3:40 in the morning playing this game. It took us months to finish this game.
This was the only classic TR I didn't play as a child but when I was a grown man but nevertheless I loved it just as much. Thanks for the gameplay friend
Me too. I started from TR2. Just until recent years I went back to play the first TR. 😁
@@stevenPCGaming TR2 is my favorite, lots of combat and straightline levels
I love the original Tomb Raider. I played that on a PS1, when I just was 3 years. Best game ever and you play really good 😊
Thank you 😊classic TR really gave us such an wonderful memories 😊
I was 36 when I first played it back in 1998.
Esse é um jogo que merecia um remake!
Addicted to this back in 95 got stuck for days near the hand when you have to place something into them. Moving forward got my first pc.
Then one night I stumbled upon the greatest game ever that I still play today
"Team fortress classic". If only could go back to 1995 much better times.
Love you always k

Yeah thats not a Problem...but i will try it with an hdmi converter at next on HD TV. But on tube it is more notalgic✌️ do you play it on PC or Ps1?

Man I had a hell of a time with this one back in the day. I’d get so lost it took me hours to get through some stages
that's totally understandable. I had the same experience back in the first time I played this game 🤣
Outstanding play. Just bought TR 1-3 on Steam sale. Brings back many happy memories and gameplay
haha that's really good for you 😄
I still have my original PlayStation one with all five games of tomb raider including of course all the newer ones

It still looks just fine. Clean and atmospheric. Detailed enough. Georgeous game.
Wow that music brings back a lot of good memories, everything in this game is just so beautiful.
Well played! And I don’t know why I laughed so hard at 3:35:28 for that one uzi shot to the doppelgänger.
like testing her 🤣
I just bought everything needed to play T R games 1,2, and 3. Takes me forever to get through a level, though. A few pointers will help. Thanks for doing this !

Best game ever I played
Yeah, me as well!
The soundtrack in this game for its time is unmatched. To this day, the sounds in TR1 are beautiful.
You play so smooth, I feel like it takes me forever to do anything in the game 😅 always falling off ledges and 💩. I feel like there is such a timing lag when I play too, but maybe it’s just the og tomb raider.
It's okay. Just need ot enjoy the game, don't force yourself to play it smoothly 😉
Curry's, High Wycombe, 1996. I stood in the shop watching the demo play over and over again. Mesmerised by the Playstation 1 and the new era of gaming about to begin.
I wasn't born back in 96 or earlier. But I can imagine that must be full of excitement for this 😀
Thanks for the help. I got the TR collection on Evercade and need assistance every now and then.
My Childhood Game 💕💕 I love you Lara Croft ❤️ Forever. This Game deserve My like 💯
I got goosembumps and crying. Amazing
Great watch as always, shows its age (it is 25 years old !!), but an absolute, timeless classic. Something that did surprise me though, assuming they are in this version, is that you did not go for the extra med packs in Palace Midas & Sanctuary of the Scion.
you mean the unreachable meds? 😮
I was only ten when this was out. Omg feel old!
@@stevenPCGaming what are the unreachable meds? They just put med packs there that you can't access?
@@autumnrenee2708 yes, the dev placed the large medipack in Palace Midas and Atlantis, both of them are not reachable. One is too high and there's no way to grab the ledge of the platform. The other one is the door won't open, there's no such a switch or trigger to open the door. 😱
I can’t believe we used to play this on a desktop with a keyboard. Back then, there was no such thing as online tutorials. You might spend weeks trying to get past a level. But wow it was amazing when you got through it. My big brother was good at figuring it all out.
