Shovelhead Harley Chopper Build Pt. 1 - The Harley shovelhead is one of the most popular old school motorcycles to turn into a chopper. So in this series we take my 1982 Harley Shovelhead and turn it into one of the coolest choppers on TH-cam. I started this channel with doing triumph bobber build so I am excited to finally bring motorcycle builds back to the channel with the help of my friend at Shed Cycle.

I am not that into motorcycles, but I have friends that are. Many of them are into Harley Davidson. I find it funny that the most vocal of these posts silly Honda Goldwing memes on Facebook (ah yes, boomer-land). The original Harley that this chopper build is based on looked to my uncultured eyes as something somewhat akin to the Goldwing (HERESY! I hear you say). All that being said, it will be really interesting to see where you are taking this chopper. So I am going to watch this whole series...

Really cool how you take it apart, Nice.
I dig the speed but this should be called how not to teardown a shovelhead. Ctuting the belt, speedo cable, cranking on the primary case with a screw driver and didn't use a clutch spring retainer! Bet yall had fun putting that back together!
Must have been hella satisfying to take everything apart. Putting it all back together though is usually not as fun lol

Didn't expect this from this channel, but I've only been watching since some point after the beginning of the boot cutting content. Enjoy motorcycles, but not a harley guy. I would prefer narration instead of the music, but that may not be majority opinion. Also, I'd enjoy seeing those boots cut to show the construction.

About Indie Ridge, that's quite a few Native American Tribe names their usin for their boots. Is it actually Native Owned or is it another group of white people choosing "Cool" words they know nothing about to sell a product by using the fetishized allure crerated by hollywood? Cuz on the site it just says they're all really passionate motorcyclists, which is fine but if they're not Native they need to rethink their current naming scheme. People need to stop using Native American words and imagery to make money when they have no direct ties to the culture.
The boots look great tho.
Appreciate the “Native” check, however Indie Ridge, while not Native owned, legitimately puts back into Indian Country. The artwork on the box is commissioned work by an INCREDIBLE Apache artist Rod Velarde. They have also been very respectful of Native cultures by asking different Native people prior to launching their brand. Steve has also been very generous in giving to various Native causes. I know this because I am an Indie Ridge Insider, my home is on the Akwesasne Mohawk Territory, I am a Mohawk, and have walked the walk with Steve and the Indie Ridge brand.
