If I had to guess? She probably had more information. Yes, kill the hag, but get all the info she has first. Maybe she knows where the other hags are and can be persuaded to tell the group so they can take that info to someone to wipe them out. It's not about having empathy for a hag, in my opinion. It's about making proper use of the resources you have.
I found her attempts to hide to be pathetic and her attempts to justify her actions to be hilarious, , and she was wounded. Also she probably had more information about Anje that could of made it easier to communicate. Upset was probably not the best word to choose. Also I would say she deserves no sympathy, empathy is the the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. Sympathy is feelings of pity and sorrow for someone else's misfortune.
I like to imagine that mid-suplex time just stopped and you could see everyones reactions. Panic would be about to jump for literal joy with the biggest smile on, Grekkles would be rolling his eyes, Task would would be lowering his bow with the most horrified expression as the Hag was going to land right in front him, and Remy would just have the widest eyes and the slackest jaw of all time, all the while, Borky would just have a blank face.
We need fanart of Anje. We need SO much fanart of Anje. He's like a big hairy Android 16. He reminds me so much of Majin from Majin And The Forsaken Kingdom, except he speaks a different language, and even then he's got limited speech. He must be some sort of strange Druidic creation, like some sort of Druidic Homonculus. The fact that the Hag even called it by a specific name means that its not completely unknown, and the Hags know it exists, they just don't know what it is. I'm not gonna lie, I cracked up when Anje threw seeds at Remy. That was priceless.

It's a game mechanics thing, I imagine. Like how you are only allowed to use two magic rings at a time (one on each hand). The lore explanation is that too many magic items clustered to close can interfere with each other. The mechanics reason, I would think, is that GM's didn't want people decked out with ten magic rings, seven bracelets, five necklaces, two hats, three pairs of pants, twelve belts, etc.
Yes-yes, I understand :) - I do believe the game (5e) has a mechanic to prevent this scenario from a different angle, called "attunement", which limits your number of "OP goodies" to 3, even if they are 3 necklaces... and then the DM can decide if 3 belts fit the lore and the narrative or not :) (Jotaro thinks 2 belts is perfectly fine, for instance)

I've been binge watching this campaign for like a week or two trying to catch up. This was the perfect episode for me to watch today, I woke up borderline suicidal and this just helped so much. Thank you guys for playing and posting it here and being hilarious.

It's funny, Taka's already a very creative guy, so this un-synched episode put him ahead a second and made him look like the quickest thinker ever. Also this makes me realize how much his sister and him have in common

Guys, strange though.... Who here thinks Anje may be a child of their species? What it said at the end sounded a bit like maybe it was calling someone, and maybe not who we think. And it comes across to be a bit like a kid feeding all the cute little animals they find.
Well, since Anje is intelligent enough to speak as well as carry a bag full of food for different kinds of animals yet still showed a sense of childlike curiosity, you might be on to something. I personally wish they searched the area further to maybe see if they're are any more of them or maybe a kind of campsite where Anje might sleep.
Aye, definitely something I think everyone agrees they want to look back into when they don't have an immediate mission and are possibly better provisioned. Also, technically speaking, was Anje the boss of this arc from what we can tell thus far? Given, a boss in which peaceful resolution was an option, but seriously seems like they were the most serious challenge they faced, though that could just be the sense of danger.
While Brorc's comment about Kenku was totally uncalled-for, I doubt he is as racist as Greckles/Gajin seems to think, since Brorc is the one who started the racial inclusion program and thus, the reason they are even working for Alivast. Part of what I assume is the reason he even started is because of how he faced his own racial troubles. Brorc was beaten as a child and exiled from his Orc tribe for being an Aasimar and if I remember right, has mentioned that even though he's an Orc, the Aasimar side is what unsettles most people he met. Before that jail conversation he has shown the Unexpectables nothing but respect, getting Task and Borky the Owlbear and using his own money to buy Greckles that blue fan which seemed to have sentimental significance. Though Greckles have a good reason to be sore, I think calling him a racist is a uphill battle. The part about police brutality is less understandable to me. Brorc was aggressive and pinned Greckles to the wall sure, but he didn't actually damage him as far as I remember and I feel that Monty really wanted to emphasise that this was not normal for Brorc, showing that Greckles may have made an enemy in him. In Brorc's perspective alot of things are happening back to back; mysterious deaths (which passed onto the party), fire giants (when he left the Dulmar thing to the party), Orun Clergy (the people everyone in town agreed would go to war if pissed enough), property damage (caused by doing the exact thing everyone in town knew was not ideal), and finding out that the party (the people he trusted) had been keeping Solly. Brorc mentioned a stray Aasimar three times: when they first met, when Artemis died (after they met Solly), and after he just finished talking to Solly without knowing. The last two times Greckles had a chance to tell Brorc, but didn't even during the last time when Brorc explains that Aasimars can go rogue against their God leading to Ginter's Folly and he stated that he only wishes to help guide Solly as he went through those troubles himself. Most who talks about Brorc have goods things to say, that he is a goody-goody two shoes. His involvement in Ginter's Folly is the one negative thing we know about him and even then, we don't know his side of the story, it's clearly something he deeply regrets if he got so stressed out. Think about how he treated the unconscious Solly, when Greckles and Task tossed the body, he gently picked her up, when the party enters the room with Edward, the chains Greckles and Task put on her were removed, and finally when the option of killing Solly was mentioned to Edward, he states that he wanted to, but Brorc didn't. So the idea that Greckles seems to have that Brorc would kill Solly feels a little misplaced not too unreasonable though, but considering that Brorc was one of the few who could see Stillhavity's eye in the sky (not sure how, he either had some contact with Stillhavity, according to Edward, or met Lys in the Attic), he would have noticed it disappear.
Yes, basically the same things I have been saying about Brorc since this altercation began. I did forget the mention of aasimar when they spoke at Artemis' death scene, so kudos for recalling that. We as an audience have the benefit of knowing exactly what the characters are doing and thinking for the most part. Brorc does not. He has to assess what is in front of him and the whole United Clergy and Solly thing came together in probably the worse possible way. "Oh, that group that could bring a continent to attack us? A small group of adventurer's just got into a fight with them and wrecked a sizeable chunk of the market district. Also, those clerics said they were looking for a rogue aasimar right? Yeah, the group that fought with them has part of her armor." I'm honestly surprised Brorc didn't send an armed escort to apprehend Solly and stop this nonsense in it's tracks. I suspect it is because he had a pretty good idea she must be afraid for her life and figured the group would be a less intrusive option.
I agree Brorc seems like hes a good guy for the first part. The only three thing that that make him suspicious were 1. He seemed to have an ulterior motive for looking for Aasimar 2. His interaction with Hassrad about the "Attic", which we all know the truth about now 3. That Hassrad has some kind of dirt on him. Other than that I have no reason to suspect him of being evil, and even his worst actions were probably for the greater good, but only time will tell for sure.
Bradley Hampton, my guess is the blackmail thing is whatever really happened at Ginter's Folly. I'm sure there is an official story, which we have yet to hear, but I think we can all take an educated guess that Brorc carries alot of guilt about whatever he did.
People need to stop getting so mad at the characters and people playing D&D. It's a game, it's fun, and the only people who can control what happens in it are Monty, Gaijin, Taka, Senile, and Zito. Let them have fun and do their bits, the characters aren't perfect and neither is anybody in real life. Flaws exsist and so do flawed characters who do actions which night not be beneficial to the party. It's fine, it's fun, and people should get over it.
I understand why they are upset but half the time on what they are complaining about they are ignoring other stuff that contradicts on what they are complaining about like "Task is just loud and angry" but ignore that 70% of the time hes not.
I think it seems to be more of the Chat gripes over tech stuff and Mechanics rather than character flaws. Typically thats reserved more for discord not twitch chat. When it comes to mechanics always roll with the DM My only gripe is Greckles still hates Brorc, which no one seems to know why nor does Greckles have a reason. The only mentions were the interrogation scene were Brorc grabbed Greckles, whom at the time had a hand in Orun's Folly and was actively lying to the Aasimar of Justice. Alot of fans think Greckles is bein petty but we keep that sort of discussion to discord.
SrRuffington So was Task(almost did it too) and Greckles was thinking about it as well. Also considering Ginther's Folly I doubt he would, considering how he was. Keep in mind also Greckles was pretty apathetic towards solly after the library helping task chain her up. edit: Also this got me thinking Greckles is starting to slip a little bit, his goal seems to onvolve the tengu which devote themselves to greatness not just survival.
Sleptrock1 Task was understandable since he was starting to warm up to solly and then she made the deal and he snapped and greck's assumed she would't make the deal either so yea.
I think it's perfectly normal to be annoyed at the characters. Just like you can hate some characters on TV and that can add to the enjoyment of the show. Personally I find it a bit odd that Greckles is going on about how he cared so deeply for Solly when he was seemed pretty OK to be done with her during Orun's folly.
Okay so I have read the comments and a lot of them are people hating on Greckles having all the magic items and how contrarian he is with his backstory. So I will just post a list of magic items that they have at this time, episode to be accurate (that I remember). Borky- Gripples the Exploding Onyx Penguin, Boots of Otto's Irresistible Dance (I'm listing it as his since he wants to use it on Helga) Panic- Circlet of Scorching Ray, Ring of Spell Absorption (Fireball), Fey Slicer, Potion of Alter Self, Potion of Bodily Shrinkage Task- Potion of Fire Breathing, Whistle of the Drake (on loan to Willow), Gloves of Thievery Greckles- Goggles of Night, Cloak of the Manta Ray, Acid Dagger of Stabbing, Pearl Seagull of Annoyance, Hat of Disguise If I forgot any magic items they have as of this episode please list them with the proper owner As for the contradictions, I think it's mostly due to the players misunderstanding of the information given and no one correcting them (when it comes to character knowledge) but otherwise it's just the players not having a complete idea on how to play their characters As for the Hat of Disguise, he does ask if anyone else was interested.
At the 1:48:00 ish mark, when Taka is talking to chat about rules lawyering, it works like this: If driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cake hole, chat is figuratively the guy in the trunk who's sole job is to shut up, hold on, and enjoy the ride.
Task was behaving a lot nicer than usual for a good part of this episode... Also, the rulemongers still nagging you? Not going to die out. Too many pros out there who think of the rules as some sort of ancient tradition that must be followed no matter what. Having fun? It's not in the Rule Book so it isn't relevant.

Normally if something like that happens, Monty mentions a flash of light or something. This technically isn't a mission, Balfor is sending them home for their own safety, not having them do a favor for him. Remy is a different story, but not sure if he has a contract.
You are right, but this is kind of like a side quest. Balfor sent them home but he sent Remy on a mission technically. Escort and checkup on the village. if I have not been mistaken :D
P.L.E.B Gaming I know the color of dragon affects alignment for full dragons but some dragonborn fight against their heritages colors to not be an evil alignment. Unsure what yellow signifies
Well, this is old stuff, but apparently yellow dragons have been a think in past editions. dedpihto.narod.ru/games/Monsters1/MM00076.htm From what we know so far, my guess is that Dragonborn and Kobolds tend to come in the chromatic colors but also other non-metallic colors (Task referred to Silver Kobolds as a fairy tale), such as the yellow scale kobold Timber we met.

Fair enough. I personally don't mind waiting as the group settles in but I can understand some people don't have my same setup. I tend to listen to the campaign and other videos as i do something else.
They guys must of been pretty stressed this day. So hard keeping up the fun amongst all the show. Everybody was slightly off, specially Greckles in being aggressive without sense.
Ikr gaijin is a little irked out this episode. I hate to comment on the players but I relate to him. It's just that he doesn't crack jokes and is the nerd serious kinda person. So when he tells taka to shush without any punchline, it feels aggresive. He had a habit of telling taka that he ruined his bit. Taka always feel sorry for doing so but his response usually doesn't convey genuine acceptance of his apology. I just wish he cracks more jokes and takes dialogs less seriously. I have a bias towards him since I know gaijin more and greckles is my favourite character. So I take notice of his actions more. I know its rude to assume a Player's characteristics but I genuinely care for greckles and gaijin.

Guys, strange though....
Who here thinks Anje may be a child of their species? What it said at the end sounded a bit like maybe it was calling someone, and maybe not who we think. And it comes across to be a bit like a kid feeding all the cute little animals they find.
Well, since Anje is intelligent enough to speak as well as carry a bag full of food for different kinds of animals yet still showed a sense of childlike curiosity, you might be on to something. I personally wish they searched the area further to maybe see if they're are any more of them or maybe a kind of campsite where Anje might sleep.
Aye, definitely something I think everyone agrees they want to look back into when they don't have an immediate mission and are possibly better provisioned.
Also, technically speaking, was Anje the boss of this arc from what we can tell thus far? Given, a boss in which peaceful resolution was an option, but seriously seems like they were the most serious challenge they faced, though that could just be the sense of danger.
I just cant help but find myself at the end of each episode saying "No.. this cant be the end of the Episode.. I still Want more.." T_T

While Brorc's comment about Kenku was totally uncalled-for, I doubt he is as racist as Greckles/Gajin seems to think, since Brorc is the one who started the racial inclusion program and thus, the reason they are even working for Alivast. Part of what I assume is the reason he even started is because of how he faced his own racial troubles. Brorc was beaten as a child and exiled from his Orc tribe for being an Aasimar and if I remember right, has mentioned that even though he's an Orc, the Aasimar side is what unsettles most people he met. Before that jail conversation he has shown the Unexpectables nothing but respect, getting Task and Borky the Owlbear and using his own money to buy Greckles that blue fan which seemed to have sentimental significance. Though Greckles have a good reason to be sore, I think calling him a racist is a uphill battle.
The part about police brutality is less understandable to me. Brorc was aggressive and pinned Greckles to the wall sure, but he didn't actually damage him as far as I remember and I feel that Monty really wanted to emphasise that this was not normal for Brorc, showing that Greckles may have made an enemy in him. In Brorc's perspective alot of things are happening back to back; mysterious deaths (which passed onto the party), fire giants (when he left the Dulmar thing to the party), Orun Clergy (the people everyone in town agreed would go to war if pissed enough), property damage (caused by doing the exact thing everyone in town knew was not ideal), and finding out that the party (the people he trusted) had been keeping Solly. Brorc mentioned a stray Aasimar three times: when they first met, when Artemis died (after they met Solly), and after he just finished talking to Solly without knowing. The last two times Greckles had a chance to tell Brorc, but didn't even during the last time when Brorc explains that Aasimars can go rogue against their God leading to Ginter's Folly and he stated that he only wishes to help guide Solly as he went through those troubles himself.
Most who talks about Brorc have goods things to say, that he is a goody-goody two shoes. His involvement in Ginter's Folly is the one negative thing we know about him and even then, we don't know his side of the story, it's clearly something he deeply regrets if he got so stressed out. Think about how he treated the unconscious Solly, when Greckles and Task tossed the body, he gently picked her up, when the party enters the room with Edward, the chains Greckles and Task put on her were removed, and finally when the option of killing Solly was mentioned to Edward, he states that he wanted to, but Brorc didn't. So the idea that Greckles seems to have that Brorc would kill Solly feels a little misplaced not too unreasonable though, but considering that Brorc was one of the few who could see Stillhavity's eye in the sky (not sure how, he either had some contact with Stillhavity, according to Edward, or met Lys in the Attic), he would have noticed it disappear.
Yes, basically the same things I have been saying about Brorc since this altercation began. I did forget the mention of aasimar when they spoke at Artemis' death scene, so kudos for recalling that.
We as an audience have the benefit of knowing exactly what the characters are doing and thinking for the most part. Brorc does not. He has to assess what is in front of him and the whole United Clergy and Solly thing came together in probably the worse possible way.
"Oh, that group that could bring a continent to attack us? A small group of adventurer's just got into a fight with them and wrecked a sizeable chunk of the market district. Also, those clerics said they were looking for a rogue aasimar right? Yeah, the group that fought with them has part of her armor."
I'm honestly surprised Brorc didn't send an armed escort to apprehend Solly and stop this nonsense in it's tracks. I suspect it is because he had a pretty good idea she must be afraid for her life and figured the group would be a less intrusive option.
I agree Brorc seems like hes a good guy for the first part. The only three thing that that make him suspicious were 1. He seemed to have an ulterior motive for looking for Aasimar
2. His interaction with Hassrad about the "Attic", which we all know the truth about now
3. That Hassrad has some kind of dirt on him.
Other than that I have no reason to suspect him of being evil, and even his worst actions were probably for the greater good, but only time will tell for sure.
Bradley Hampton, my guess is the blackmail thing is whatever really happened at Ginter's Folly. I'm sure there is an official story, which we have yet to hear, but I think we can all take an educated guess that Brorc carries alot of guilt about whatever he did.

People need to stop getting so mad at the characters and people playing D&D. It's a game, it's fun, and the only people who can control what happens in it are Monty, Gaijin, Taka, Senile, and Zito. Let them have fun and do their bits, the characters aren't perfect and neither is anybody in real life. Flaws exsist and so do flawed characters who do actions which night not be beneficial to the party. It's fine, it's fun, and people should get over it.
I understand why they are upset but half the time on what they are complaining about they are ignoring other stuff that contradicts on what they are complaining about like "Task is just loud and angry" but ignore that 70% of the time hes not.
I think it seems to be more of the Chat gripes over tech stuff and Mechanics rather than character flaws. Typically thats reserved more for discord not twitch chat. When it comes to mechanics always roll with the DM
My only gripe is Greckles still hates Brorc, which no one seems to know why nor does Greckles have a reason. The only mentions were the interrogation scene were Brorc grabbed Greckles, whom at the time had a hand in Orun's Folly and was actively lying to the Aasimar of Justice. Alot of fans think Greckles is bein petty but we keep that sort of discussion to discord.
SrRuffington So was Task(almost did it too) and Greckles was thinking about it as well. Also considering Ginther's Folly I doubt he would, considering how he was. Keep in mind also Greckles was pretty apathetic towards solly after the library helping task chain her up.
edit: Also this got me thinking Greckles is starting to slip a little bit, his goal seems to onvolve the tengu which devote themselves to greatness not just survival.

Task was understandable since he was starting to warm up to solly and then she made the deal and he snapped and greck's assumed she would't make the deal either so yea.
I think it's perfectly normal to be annoyed at the characters. Just like you can hate some characters on TV and that can add to the enjoyment of the show.
Personally I find it a bit odd that Greckles is going on about how he cared so deeply for Solly when he was seemed pretty OK to be done with her during Orun's folly.

Borky- Gripples the Exploding Onyx Penguin, Boots of Otto's Irresistible Dance (I'm listing it as his since he wants to use it on Helga)
Panic- Circlet of Scorching Ray, Ring of Spell Absorption (Fireball), Fey Slicer, Potion of Alter Self, Potion of Bodily Shrinkage
Task- Potion of Fire Breathing, Whistle of the Drake (on loan to Willow), Gloves of Thievery
Greckles- Goggles of Night, Cloak of the Manta Ray, Acid Dagger of Stabbing, Pearl Seagull of Annoyance, Hat of Disguise
If I forgot any magic items they have as of this episode please list them with the proper owner
As for the contradictions, I think it's mostly due to the players misunderstanding of the information given and no one correcting them (when it comes to character knowledge) but otherwise it's just the players not having a complete idea on how to play their characters
As for the Hat of Disguise, he does ask if anyone else was interested.

it makes it so the one he attacked can't have an attack of opportunity on him, whether he hits or not, but it has to be a melee attack and only affects the one he attacked

You are right, but this is kind of like a side quest. Balfor sent them home but he sent Remy on a mission technically. Escort and checkup on the village. if I have not been mistaken :D

From what we know so far, my guess is that Dragonborn and Kobolds tend to come in the chromatic colors but also other non-metallic colors (Task referred to Silver Kobolds as a fairy tale), such as the yellow scale kobold Timber we met.

They guys must of been pretty stressed this day. So hard keeping up the fun amongst all the show. Everybody was slightly off, specially Greckles in being aggressive without sense.
Ikr gaijin is a little irked out this episode. I hate to comment on the players but I relate to him. It's just that he doesn't crack jokes and is the nerd serious kinda person. So when he tells taka to shush without any punchline, it feels aggresive.
He had a habit of telling taka that he ruined his bit. Taka always feel sorry for doing so but his response usually doesn't convey genuine acceptance of his apology. I just wish he cracks more jokes and takes dialogs less seriously.
I have a bias towards him since I know gaijin more and greckles is my favourite character. So I take notice of his actions more. I know its rude to assume a Player's characteristics but I genuinely care for greckles and gaijin.
