4400Hz would be around C#8. I think you meant 44100 notes per second but that'd be outside of human hearing range

How did you figure out the correct pitch to bpm conversion for each note?

I asked zyde to replicate the melody in a midi sheet, then i looked up the frequency of each note. That number indicates how many notes to insert
