Heads or Tales Tour 1983 - my first live concert ever I think - absolute awesome. Not in Suhl but in Würzburg with Chris Rea as supporting act. Hmmm - thinking about to go for their show in Nürnberg this summer.
Thanks for posting. This is the tour I would most like to get on a DVD. First time I saw them. And really them at their height of popularity. What Jim C says in the interview is exactly what made Saga. Every album new instruments and new sounds yet not sounding like any other song. They were amazing that way.

The best live recording of "wind him up" was from "Rock am Ring 1985" (also on YT), where it sounds like 2 guitars are used. Ian plays one, the other may be a recording. I dunno. Sounds fabulous either way!!!
I was member of the concert security as part of the free youth organization of our highschool. We had to stop the people from overrunning you, while one of the band (you?) was throwing cigarettes into the crowd. ;-)

Geil geil geil,das war der pure Wahnsinn zu DDR Zeiten zu einem solchen Konzert gehen zu können.

Ich wäre so gerne dabei gewesen. Hab leider keine Karten bekommen. Habe sie dann nach der Wende in Hof gesehen und bin heute noch begeistert davon .
