Not SS. Just a very common army dagger. $495. Average condition , poor blade condition.
She knows nothing about German daggers

Could you tell me about the actual German officer ww2 dagger?, my grandfather killed a German officer in ww2 in hand to hand combat and took the dagger from the corpse. Due to family issues it has been destroyed and I never got to see or know about it.

@@liamhayward1083 There were A LOT of types of daggers, this one is probably the most common, the grip is not Ivory as this lady says, they are most commonly celluloid. They would have been worn by officers of the Heer, which is the army. And they are no where near 1500 dollars. That is way too much. The dagger in the video was not in beautiful condition like the woman said either.

yeah, she is excellent for art and furniture, but I saw her military video and I was a bit skeptical. $400 for a poilu ww1 helmet is crazy. you can find them for like $100 maybe $150 max. They definitely are valuable though, but just not $400. Literally millions were made. They are littered around France.

I agree with you 100% I have a SS honer blade with Heydrich Himmler signature on it. The SS Dagger is similar to a SA dagger but with a black handle the same eagle and swastika and the top of the handle have the SS markings with a black scabbard mine is in black leather. the SA dagger is a brown scabbard. The majority of officer daggers brought back from Europe are from post war dealers.
It was known how much u.s. soldiers loved souvenirs, specifically side arms and parade daggers. These daggers were massed produced for years. tooling and left over inventory were readily available. Many investors bought into this inventory and assembled more daggers from original parts for sale to occupation troops.
This is what this dagger is. The story is made up. You wouldn’t find a dagger for a german army officer on an ss officer. They had there own SA style daggers. Also a ceremonial dagger would not be worn in combat. This unfortunately the story of alot of vets who got to Europe too late to see combat and for decades during the cold war. The demand was so high for these they started making fake copies in the 1960’s.
Because the dagger is a vet bringback and complete, it is worth 700. Without the vet connection 500-600

    • @auxmike718

    LOL! What a poor review!
    Awful condition!
Wehrmacht Heer lower officers dagger (NOT SS) with knot and hanger goes for around 800USD in GOOD condition all over Europe.
That dagger in poor condition would go with knot and hanger for around 650/700USD
My advise, Keep it. Dont sell.
Great family story attached to is.

    Lol ridicolous. Shes an expert?
First of all, it aint from an SS officer, Its a wehrmacht, a normal army officer dagger.
    Second, its not ivory.
Third, it aint an edged weapon, and it was not in use, as in the mentioned intent, since this aint a weapon in the first place. Its ceremonial dagger, intended to be worn in parades, not used as bayonete.
And finally, the price was COMPLETELY off.
But whats important is to look at it with magnifying glass, that says Im an experts, I saw it on movies.

@MSgt Baca what? He is not wrong this is a 400 to 500 dagger, nothing special about it at all. As for a army dagger it's at the bottom of the price range from condition to white handle. As a collector the chance of ever coming across a ww2 German army dagger worth $8000 is about zero

Not a lot of close ups on the dagger but it looks to be a Heer officer's dagger. $1500 is a bit high. If it had blade etching or a name engraved on the crossguard or blade I can understand $1500. It is complete with portepee so more like $700 to $800.
