Looking at the highlights and watching what they do, I can't help but compare Clowney to Jason Taylor just a little bit. He's not the almighty sackmeister like Taylor was in his prime, but good god almighty if their move sets don't look similar.
Yeah it's called a front seven that can make up for the secondary's weaknesses. Deshaun Watson and this front seven will win the Texans a Super Bowl in the future, maybe in like 5 years or less
Check out the hit Kevin Barnes put on Jahvid Best on a perfectly read screen pass. Has Best throwing up from the hit. th-cam.com/video/LCO0sRPJEZ8/w-d-xo.html
I was in the same class as Jadeveon coming outta highschool in 2011, I got a scholarship as a tailback for Sacramento State. I remember always looking at Scout/Rivals top 100 and seeing him being the consensus #1 recruit. It's a bittersweet feeling to see how far he has come and makes the class of 2011 really proud!
He got exactly what he wanted for himself out of this trade, and the Seahawks did it for practically nothing. Two average defenders and a third round pick? That's crazy! He's going to be such an asset along that line, bringing a pass rush that has been missing since Cliff Avril went out with that neck stinger that ended his career. I think he can do for Seattle what Mack's trade to Chicago did for the Bears - make their defensive front seven scary again. It's going to be fun to watch.
Clowney was never a big bender... He has said himself that having microfracture surgery has taken away his ability to really bend around the edge. He'll never be a 14+ sack guy. He's not Mack or Von or even Frank Clark in that way. Those guys have more bend and are more technically sound. But he does have a nasty swim move and can routinely beat unathletic guards and tackles. But he's still a freak of nature and can turn speed into power quite well. That alone gets him a lot of pressures. He's an absolute monster against the run. His ability to disengage from blocks and tackle a passing ball carrier is elite. Not to mention his penchant for shooting gaps. One thing worth noting is that he said he's going to put on weight since he won't be manning up on Tight Ends now. How this will effect him isn't known. Will he add muscle? Lose quickness? I guess we'll see. But he's listed as the DE opposite of Ansah. Which is interesting. Ansah is slated to take Frank Clark's/Avril/Clemens role as the LEO defender. Clowney is slated to fill Bennet old spot. I'm sure they'll mix and match along with Collier and Brendan Jackson thought to keep guys fresh. I imagine sometimes he'll still drop into coverage and maybe even bring back Pete's NASCAR package and rush standing up through the guards. Either way, they just took care of their run D issues from a year ago, and added a bit of pressure. He's the best edge run defender in Seattle since Red Bryant, and gives you Bennet/Avril type of pressure. (Just in a different way). Excellent fit in almost any defense.
@@jamessoroe5605 a lot of people don't talk about the microfracture. Very good point. He will probably need a follow-up operation soon in addition to the ones he gets after every season. Arguably why he's an elite edge defender vs pass rusher
Clowney is so underrated. Feels like everyone wrote him off after rookie year. He is a top 5 defensive player in this league. He DOMINATES the line of scrimmage like no one else. So glad they drafted him
Great Breakdown. I really like these player breakdowns but I loved your vikings defensive scheme video (which actually was a Harrison Smith Breakdown). I would love to see one of these again!
Clowney's going to love playing in front of The 12's! The Clink is like the NFL's version of a big college football rivalry game... and the place gets really LOUD!
Dude, you seriously rock. I have watched every single video you've put out since I subscribed, and I keep going back through your past video library and have found some outright fantastic gems. Please keep this up. You're analytically brilliant, and you break things down in a fantastic way for someone to understand and appreciate.
Best video in a while (as if they don't keep getting better). It is fantastic to see the growth and development in his game since the first time you made a video on him. I'm a Jaguars fan, but I have been rooting for this guy since "The Hit".
Been watching your content for years, honestly making the most underrated and incredible content on the website, keep grinding man, you're doing everything right
Yeeeesssssss love these Texans videos. I have been defending clowney to friends since his first injury. And my Cowboys fan of a father in law. Now I just sit back and smile while he destroys the run game. Love it.
I would love to see a Film Room on Bobby Wagner, I think he has been snubbed from NFL DPOTY several times now and I would love to see a breakdown of what makes him so dominant. Love the videos, thanks for putting out such quality content
Great video as always and your draft chart from last year got me a first place finish in my 250 dollar buy in lg and 2nd in my 100 dollar buy in lg. Thanks bro!
It’s great to see how freakishly good he has become. I’ve been rooting for him since he got drafted and even during his recoveries I was always sitting back thinking to my self, “just wait till he’s back on the field.”. You are absolutely right when you say that he deserves every dollar the Texan’s got cause I thought JJ would be the Texan’s best defensive player of all time without a doubt, but if Clowney just keeps getting better and better like he already is... oh man. That’s a scary thought(for the rest of the league at least).
Haha I think the timing of this video exposes your Texans homerism, getting this video out now to help mitigate backlash against his soon-to-be massive deal 😂 Fantastic video as usual and always looking forward to new content!
Glad you got a bit of the Rams game in there. As a Rams fan he absolutely brutalised a good Rams line for the first half of that game. They game planned against him for the second half and it work, but wow. The way he played in the first half was something else.
His junior year at South Carolina was a major disappointment due to a coaching change. We had a new D line coach that had absolutely no business being hired. His freshman to sophomore year there was a huge jump in his productivity because he received great coaching. His junior year he sort of fell off and mostly made plays due to athleticism and instinct. I believe if he had the same coach all 3 years he attended S.C. he would have been far more productive. I am glad he’s shown what he’s capable of in Houston and I expect them to make it to the playoffs easily barring injuries.
I love that you’re a Texan fan lol. I don’t think we get enough national media. And the Texans themselves aren’t very loud. We don’t have wild superstars like obj or Sherman. Ours have always been quiet Watt Andre etc. the most noise we made was when we were on HBO’s hard knocks. Lol. And that was all big Vince and billy o. Keep it up bud. 👍🏼
I see a super similar ceiling for Bud Dupree with the Steelers. Same build, same super elite top end athleticism. I hope hope hope he can have a Clowney like resurgence. Hopefully this time next year I’ll be watching the breakdown of Dupree! #herewego
I love how you break down tape because I don’t know how to. I was wondering if you could do this to see what happened to Eddie lacy I thought he had so much potential
Micheal Curran he did he just wasn't dedicated enough coming into camps waaaaay outta condition top tier players train year round Lacey obviously couldn't watch his diet and train with the consistency he needed to to be a top running back he had the natural talent but......HARD WORK BEATS TALENT WHEN TALENT DONT WORK HARD
In a word.. Inconsistentcy.. He could never dedicate himself throughout the season and off-season and as a result couldn't run the ball with the same aggression throughout the game. His game stats are pretty much boom or bust and it makes GMs leary cause they don't know who they're going to get.
You should do Everson Griffin. A guy who isn’t talked about as much. Or Mike Daniels. More specifically focus on Everson’s ability to get off the blocks quick, and Daniels overcoming his disadvantages to be a stud DL guy.
This is how the Eagles see Sweat in Philly because the ways he was used in the opposite in college. I always liked JC and think the focus was on him without Watt being out there
Imagine what Mike Vrabel will do with Harold Landry and Rashaan Evans. That’s a scary thought for AFC South teams. Placing Clowney at DT at times is a smart move. I expect with the Raiders drafting Mo Hurst and PJ Hall we might see Khalil Mack at DT a play or two per game. Anyway, just once, I’d love to see Mack and Clowney on the same team for a day. Talk about a wreaking crew. Dang!
I love your videos. Would you consider making more general offensive & defensive scheme/concept explanation videos i.e. not focused on one team/player? You do a great job of breaking things down to be understandable.
Seeing him in a 4-3 as a D end in Seattle is going to be gorgeous with the rest of our front 7
Hope he does well for Y'all. Gonna miss wearing my #90.....
Looking at the highlights and watching what they do, I can't help but compare Clowney to Jason Taylor just a little bit. He's not the almighty sackmeister like Taylor was in his prime, but good god almighty if their move sets don't look similar.
This didn't age well
@@ShiddyTimelineClubMember ......we don't talk about Clowney's time in Seattle

Well I can't
THIS IS THE YEAR! (please God, let it be the year)
Yeah it's called a front seven that can make up for the secondary's weaknesses. Deshaun Watson and this front seven will win the Texans a Super Bowl in the future, maybe in like 5 years or less
Isn't the turf in their stadium horrible?
Back half? I think you mean one that can at least field it's starting defensive line and QB of the future.
I don't usually watch a lot of college ball, but that hit. Clowney buried that man's soul.
Bike Rash You're totally missing out. NCAA Football is amazing.
Bike Rash That hit was nothing compared to what he did to UGA’s QB two years in a row. For real
Bike Rash Vincent smith was a tiny rb. Like 5’6 165 pounds tough as nails but tiny
Check out the hit Kevin Barnes put on Jahvid Best on a perfectly read screen pass. Has Best throwing up from the hit.

Are you de’jon coleman or Demetrius warren?
@BrettKollmann
How do you feel Clowney will fit into the Seahawks scheme and what do you think of the acquisition by the Hawks?
Thanks!

Hans Sarpei need it.
Watching this after Seahawks stole him from Texans! Man he is going to dramatically improve Seahawks front seven. .

I have zero ties to south carolina or houston but hot damn i want to see clowney have a brilliant career. Its so fun to watch him dominate.

I’m excited for vrabel to finally get him back. I can’t even imagine how much he’d improve that titans defense
Welcome to SEATTLE..!
💙💚🏈💚💙
Glad to have you back!
Living in Houston these people don't appreciate how good clowney is. If given the chance these people would trade him for a good washing machine.
Randall Rodriguez ummm that’s not true lol
For real?
Randall Rodriguez from a good video to shitty comment this is ...
That's a pretty good deal. Is it a Miele?
Wasn’t he all pro this season?
Your initial Clowney video was one of the first I saw. Liked him and you ever since

Damn It dude, why you gotta release this before he gets paid. This video will cost the Texans at least another mill or 2
Syracks you act like they don't watch film themselves, and don't know anything that this man is saying.
Syracks I understand it may be a joke but it's still a dumb one
" I understand it may be a joke" you seem to not understand this
foxfire1112 yeah sorry about that, blame the Caprisuns bro
Brandon Marshall u good
I remember seeing him at the Galleria in Htown. The line to get his autograph was unreal and that was before he ever played a down for the Texans.
Keep up the great work man. Every video you make is packed with quality.
Yes sir I'm from and stay in Houston Texas great work on him
to take a 40 pt lead... I like how you slid that in there.. another amazing vid.. Thanks Brett

Great video man keep it up you made my morning so much better!!!
this video was so good. love the way you tie it all together. subbed!!

The Evolution of Jadeveon Clowney Part 2: Getting Traded to the Seahawks for Practically Nothing in Return
Glad you got a bit of the Rams game in there. As a Rams fan he absolutely brutalised a good Rams line for the first half of that game. They game planned against him for the second half and it work, but wow. The way he played in the first half was something else.
The best way to stop a pass rush is to do a hurry up offense to tire defenders out and our garbage CBs couldn't bat a pass down.
What a tank! Great breakdown and analysis as usual.
welcome to Seattle JC. He's in our camp now. He'll get EVEN BETTER
Great video. Welcome to the Seahawks. Appreciate the Texans developing him for us
Good work bro. Clowney is monster to much talent
I'm a Carolina alum. He brought Carolina to new heights, I will always be a fan.Thank you, Jadeveon
nice commentary...pace, tone, style...keep gettin better!
'New' Clowney is the best DE/OLB in the NFL since JJ Watt
Seahawks got a major upgrade
as a long time pats fan.. its nice to see the patriot way take root and flourish in another town
this is honestly brilliant.
Whenever I see a new Kollmann upload I drop whatever I was doing and click as hard as I can
Neat closing with that last shot of him
You're amazing ! Keep up the great work .
Great breakdown. Now l gotta wait patiently for the next one rip.
Your videos are pure gold.
Love the videos I know the process is long but keep up the good work man
Clowney's evolution as a pass rusher is noticeably impressive, but what I like the most is how he's one of the best run-stopping 3-4 OLB in the league
And now he’s reunited with Vrabel in Tennessee. Welcome to the Titans
This is a dope video. Great job bro!
This is like the most civilized comment section on TH-cam, good shit
Old clowney was 20 years old. Great video
Nothing better than watching a film breakdown for breakfast🙌🏽

Mike Vrabel damn u ended up being right lol
I LOVED THIS GUY AT SOUTH CAROLINA LIKE I WOULD ALWAYS WANT TO WATCH THE GAMECOCKS PLAY
I can't get over your knowledge
I can't wait to see how Clowney plays for Pete Pete Carroll. With Clowney raising havoc the Legion of Boom just became the Legion of Doom. Go Hawks!
