    Well, what I want to know, after all this time and all the shouting about equality, which I'm for if somebody can meet the standards without lowering standards, why aren't females required to register for the draft when they turn 18 like males are?
    They should have to register for the draft and face the same sanctions if they don't, like not being able to get federal student loans Etc.

    • @bobcobb158
      @bobcobb158 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The short answer, though most people don't like to hear it, is males are expendable and females are not.. that's the way it has always been in every civilization throughout human history and how it will remain. Mostly comes down to biological reasons, as pupy said you cant have your babymakers dying.

      That's a good point. Do you have any explanations? Has the job become a whole lot more technical & complex? Have we realized being ready at all times instead of having to promote field officers in a big damn hurry like Ike, going from Lt Col to 5-stars in just a few years? Do we have commitments all over the world to assist allies & suppress problem areas instead of allowing them to blow up & even come in-country again? Are we retiring officers at a reasonable age so we don't have a bunch of feeble old leaders in a crisis? (I'm an old man so I get to say stuff like that without even smiling) As long as there's a real need for a well-trained & diversely experienced officer corps, I say yes, we're doing a good job of ensuring we are ready & able anywhere, anytime. These four general & flag officers represent the best & brightest personnel available for the job.
