This video was so helpful! I am researching courses and seeking real advice from people who have done them. Thank you for going into depth and comparing these two certification courses and the recommendation to read the book first. Very good advic
Thank you soo much for doing this. I’m just getting started on getting information about staging. It took me a couple of years to come to this. I was a realtor, but that wasn’t speaking to me, so I left the industry. But, knew I enjoyed real estate, fixing up and flipping (I consider myself an accidental flipper), and helping people. Once I dissected what I wanted, and it had a specific name, I was so happy! I’m in the beauty business right now, but I’m looking to transition out over the next couple of years. I will take my time, so I do it right. Thank you. I’ll be hitting that subscribe button. Looking forward to following...
Hello Keki, the information that you provided has been very helpful. I am too much interested to go for staging business but do not know where to start from. I m from Ontario Canada. Your Video has given needed information and insights. 🙏🏻
I find that if you were interested in fashion when younger you’ll do great at staging homes! It’s kind of like fashion but for homes making cheap look expensive.
Thank you so much for this Cecilia!! Very helpful and I definitely took notes. I will be following you closely as you continue sharing. Please keep sharing.
Thank you, for your video! I was wondering where you recommend getting the furniture for staging. Do you have a specific place where you get better prices on furniture?
I'm so glad I found this video I am definitely looking to get into staging. I have always received compliments on my decor and designs. They all wanted me to decorate their homes and said I should do it for real!! But I always be like I'm not a professional...lol idk what I'm doing....I just make great living spaces according to what I like haha I'm glad you explained there are certifications because would definitely want to be legit going into the staging business.
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and tips. I staged my house and sold it all by myself, but I couldn’t find a way how to turn it as a business to help others. I think I found the answer through your video. Thank you so much. Hope I will meet you someday in RESA.
Hi Cecilia- Great info! Thank you. I have a full time marketing job, but really have the itch to get into staging. I would like to start as a Staging Assistant part time. Do you think it’s possible to do this job part time at night and on the weekends? Do Staging Assistants need an ASP designation? Thanks, Kelly
Thank you for taking the time and sharing this info. Ive definitely been looking into course work to go into this industry. There's just soo many schools & programs. Thank you for your input on these two that you mentioned. I will definitely be looking into them.
Thank you so much for your videos!!! Your blog titled "Home Staging Consultation - How To Conduct Your First Onsite Consultation" indicate you were planning to make a video on how to conduct an on site consultation. Can you advise where I may locate the video? Thank you
Lisa lisa - yes, you can and should definitely start with occupied consultations (Only). When I started, I did consultations and you will see, that an occupied client might need a couple lamps, or a side table and lamp, or some mirrors. You can buy those and start building your inventory with these small consultations. I will go over how to build your inventory and how to charge “rent” for those pieces the first of the year. 2 more weeks. Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.
Cecilia Composto Cannon I need to know how much to charge for a empty house ( master bedroom/ bathroom, kitchen, livingroom ) I’m lost on how to charge and where to rent furniture from
I was fortunate enough to get an internship for one of the top staging companies in my area. The first day, they gave me a Non-Compete Agreement to sign and it stated that if we separated for any reason, I was not able to work for competitors or myself within 50 miles for 3 years. I was so upset! I am no longer working for them. What do you think about that?
Thanks so much for your video! I'm trying to decide between becoming a real estate agent and a home stager. I love being able to help people discover the value of their homes. Your video is really starting to help me put things into perspective. I really appreciate the video and I look forward to watching more!
Thank you Cecilia, your video was very helpful for me as I'm in the first step and didn't know really where to begin. So thanks again for your honesty about what a course to take and book to read before anything. Please give me some advise also as how much do home stagers charge. Will be helpful!! See you soon!!
You don't need to be "certified". But you need to have the natural ability & experience decorating , be business minded & researched the process, have connections & be media savvy.
Uoo Hoo- I disagree. Certification gave me a ton of insider tips that I know you would only learn taking their courses and keeping up to date with their techniques and research. The amount of research they do, that I learn from keeping up with my certification keep me ahead of the other “hobby” stagers.
Terany Nicole - thank you, I have more great quality tips and behind the scence already scheduled to post in the New Year, just 2 more weeks. But, always check out the blog Staging section as I do write a lot there. Www.homewithkeki.com
sorry about your job. Definitely try to start learning about home staging and building a brand off hours, while you can hopefully get an income elsewhere. But start brand building.
A week later. Now Im wondering if I have to take the courses to become certified. I can afford the membership but not the courses. Not yet at least. I'll have to check the website. You probably can. Thanks for the info! Im feeling so overwhelmed but gosh I really want to do this.
I hope to keep on sharing on the blog and here so keep on coming back for tips, maybe start building your brand and business until you feel ready to take the course.
So basically you are saying: learn to start up a business first. One year later or so, you can learn how to stage. ????? Doesn't seem such a good idea to me. Rather take an all-in-one course. Or do both shortly after one another and then start to stage. For in your first year, you must have made a LOT of home staging mistakes! Since you didn't learn how to do that yet. It's like you learn how to start a business in photography without learnin how to shoot good pictures. But you know how to invoice, alright! Then a year later you are finally taking a professional photography course. Must have been some awful pictures at first...
I also purchased a staging course and wasted my money. Please do your research before you take courses. A real condescending person run Thr course I took. Horrible.

You are exactly what I am except I’m not a realtor. Would love to get more info about how you got started!

Hi Cecilia, thanks for your video. Can you start home staging with just consultations then work your way up to the other stuff?
YES!!! of course. I did that and recommend that in one of the other videos

Hi there! I'm a stager in Waco tx. Facebook, Waco Home Staging. Thanks for taking time to make this. Great to meet others in the business!
Can home staging be a side hustle?
how do I get to your blog?
This is very helpful! How much do the ASP & CSP courses cost??
have you taken Catherine Lewis Browns The Certified Successful Stager Training??
if so what did you think...honestly
What if a house just doesn't sell because of the market, the area or the quality of the construction and has nothing to do with the stage?
How much is the CSP? It doesn’t tell you on the website!
Hi i am really interested on staging classes and I want to read and understand about it where is your link for your blog's
GREAT! www.homewithkeki.com New home staging post is up today too. For all the staging posts just go to the STAGING tab
Do you charge when you stage or when the home sells?
As a stager you charge when you stage.
I don’t trust anyone that keeps deleting comments.
Kim Ryals - I prepared the behind the scene while with other work, BUT once I launched, I launched no other work, You need to be available m-f 9-9 :)

Which course did you take?
@@stagingbycc dont really want to say on line
OMG! So sorry to hear that happened to you. Did you find a mentor or course that helped or did you just start staging?
