Hands down, bowl cozies are the best gifts to give. I’ve received much feedback from people that I’ve given these to, as to how much they love them, and how often they use them. I buy fabric whenever I travel (make sure it’s 100% cotton ), and I make gifts from the fabric I buy on my trips.
Really love your video. Absolutely love the one half using multiple pieces of fabric. I've been seeing such in my minds eye, not knowing quite how to measure for such using up my stash scraps. Thank you Stacey Lee.😊
These are awesome presents...making them larger for serving bowls eliminates the need for trivets and hot pot holders for family meals....very functional and practical.
Great tutorial! Just made my 1st one, thank you for giving me the confidence as a newbie sewer to make these awesome projects. Onto the phone holder next, thank you x
Very much enjoyed this video. Very clear instructions and step-by-step with very handy tips. Just what I was looking for to make these. Thanks so much!
Thank you very much, Stacey! My Wrap and Zap should arrive tomorrow. My son will be getting my first bowl cozy. He remarked last week how hot the edges of his bowl were as he carried it out of the microwave and ran to the table. I think they may be best to use once the food is heated up, but will tell him and my future recipients the Wrap and Zap rules! I saw your 10 gifts video (more great ideas) and I’ll decide whether to shorten the batting size. I love all your videos and your friendly manner and really appreciate you telling us all your details and tips, such as needle lengths and seam sizes. Happy New Year❣️🧵
Fabulous! I got more tips in doing these right! I tried one in my own and I will have to keep that one, lol. It was bad, and I used polyester thread. Looking forward to doing one based on your instructions. Thank you for all you do!!💕
Another amazing video tutorial Stacey! You made this look so easy. The ones I made I didn’t have the instructions from another tutorial that mentioned the night if the bowl size. Thank you for your detailed instructions. I’ll think more on suggestions of what to make and post again. 🌸💖🌸
Thank you. I have been making these for years. I haven’t pierced my fabric before. Wonder if that would be ok going in the microwave. Appreciate your technique. I will try that.i do 1 1/2 in diagonal
I would love to learn how to make half square triangles. Maybe there is a small project we could do where we could learn how to make them and use them? I've tried several times but they never seem to come out right.
Hello Stacey Lee, loved watching your holiday video. The gardens were beautiful and you looked happy and relaxed. My question is, I have been making bowl cosies from your tutorial. Is it necessary to use a top stitch abound the edge. I am unable to get the stitching even. I am wondering if the cosies will be strong enough without. I have Parkinsons and am slowly getting back into sewing. It's my happy place. I am happy with the look of the cosies as I am giving them as gifts. Appreciate your advice. Lea from Australia 😊
So I’m loving this bowl cozy tutorial I have made two and they are easy like you say but is there a tip for the top stitching for inverted dart area as I have broken two needles now on my machine and I’m just wondering what needle you use I just broke an 18 and a 16 so any advice
Thanks for your question, Catherine! 🤗 For the inverted dart area, try a size 90/14 needle and go slowly. You might also hand-crank over the thickest parts. I appreciate you sharing your experience. Happy quilting! 🌸
Prewashing is a personal choice. So if you usually do, then I probably would. I just did this tutorial again here: th-cam.com/video/QtLPASmVDTs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LOqoarwOqW1FKtqo
If you're looking for 100% cotton for projects like microwave-safe items, go for "no scrim" or use something like Wrap-N-Zap, which is specifically designed for that purpose. 😊
Hi Sharon, not particularly, if you wanted more body you could add another layer of batting. Cut it a bit smaller so the seams aren't too bulky. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment 😊

I will definitely be making this. My husband will be thanking you.

I think it's about time to do half square triangles too Janice! I can see us doing some soon. ❤
How about making a baked potato / sweet potato "bag" for the microwave. 💕🤪🥰 Love your videos ❤️

Lea from Australia 😊
Hi Lea, it's partially decorative but also closes up the opening. Perhaps just sew the opening close? Thanks for watching my video. 😊
Thank you so much for your reply. Look forward to your comments 😀 and videos.

Is the cotton fabric preshrunk? I do that when quilting should I do it with these bowls? Love the video!
Prewashing is a personal choice. So if you usually do, then I probably would.
I just did this tutorial again here: th-cam.com/video/QtLPASmVDTs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LOqoarwOqW1FKtqo
😊what size needle? I had a lot of trouble getting my material to go through. I’m totally new, so don’t know much.
I just use a universal one but Schmetz brand which is a good one. It might be time for a fresh needle.
So I was going to order wrapping from Joannes fabric and it has scrim or no scrim and I wasn’t sure which one I would want
If you're looking for 100% cotton for projects like microwave-safe items, go for "no scrim" or use something like Wrap-N-Zap, which is specifically designed for that purpose. 😊
Hi Stacy
Hi Carol 🤗
Does piecing the strips together rather than using one piece of fabric give it more body?
Hi Sharon, not particularly, if you wanted more body you could add another layer of batting. Cut it a bit smaller so the seams aren't too bulky. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment 😊
If you plan to use these for ice cream do not use a washable marker the color will show back up when it gets cold
Thanks for the tip! I just this tutorial again here: th-cam.com/video/QtLPASmVDTs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LOqoarwOqW1FKtqo
Can 1 piece of batting be used
Yes absolutely - it just won’t be as padded 😊
❤️

What sewing machine is that?
It is a Brother I have had for years. I have now upgrading to this Juki: jukijunkies.com/product/juki-tl-2010q?ref=staceylee
Why don't you mark all the sew lines and then sew all of them? Wouldn't that be easier?
Hi Esther, yes maybe that would have been easier 😊
