Excellent stuff man! I really didn't believe that it was true that the call during the skrillex interview wasnt staged, but with your context, that is a wild moment. Thanks for this!
I think a note worth mentioning is that Mo also worked with Kayzo, Dotcom, Yultron, Jauz, and Ookay in one way or another and while Marshmello was coming up, surely they all contributed to helping Chris form the brand. Similar to how Deathpact functions now, with multiple artists playing a role with someone taking the lead.
Would be great a video about other countries DJ's for example how Tiesto made history being the first DJ in the world to sold out an arena show back in the day.
@@audioeatsseen them at Organic in SoCal 96(?), was right by the front, sick fricken show, never noticed the subsonics in their first album until then.
ngl, I totally thought he was an industry plant who was put out there due to how he immediately showed up & became the face of how every aspect of the various 'EDM' subcultures became extremely over-commercialized. Glad I watched this, cant say I blame him going the route he took - future bass back when he blew up was begging to be exploited and had mainstream appeal - much more-so than any of the more niche underground bass genres that had been popular in the underground prior to it.
Success by making/remixing commercial pop songs. Watched like 30 minutes of ones of his sets, blah, not for me at all, I'm an underground/desert raver.
@CeemPlay no no no, Pablo, didn't make millions. His billions had to be weighed, all without advertising. It's impressive that an artist who's not even that good can make it. Maybe there's a chance for us still?
It's ironic that I made this video like a week before it came out that Marshmello got a $10million SVOG grant 😂
Your channel is legendary 🙂
Thank you!

There is a lot of evidence that he has had others do shows in his stead. But I loved his riddim era in 2024.

Dude that's wild! I've never seen them before but I used to listen to Push the Button a ton when I was a kid
His first show was actually the day before his day of the dead set, on Halloween. Opening for Skrillex in NYC
Love it
