"One Hot Minute" is a overhated, brilliant album !!!!
it's one of their best...but the Frusiante -lovers don't like it because Navarro is on it..but did you read "scar tissue"..? anthony said it was the least pleasant album they recorded...they where miserable in the recording studio, yet they produced an incredible album..the irony
love it.
It's definitely the black sheep of their catalog, but it's an incredible record! Super under appreciated
I always go with Mother's Milk as the epitome REAL peppers album. BSSM was no doubt their epitome, but they never rocked like they did then. and warped brought that heavy rock feel back without Frusciante and his melodic nonsense in albums to follow but yeah, navarros best work to me. walkabout is groovy aussie funk. eventhough navarro said he felt goofy playing funk. whatever, that fool sleeps in a coffin with painted fingernails, and lotsa cash, and lotsa beer, and carmen electra....... ⚰💃🏻🌭 😚😳☻

Anthony Kiedis is very close to me in many ways. I grew up loving their music. Blood sugar was the album when I was a teen. I was a poet. My philosophy Life is "cauteric" ie my slang word made by me. I don't have heroes. Anthony and his lyrics helped me through my life from 14 to 41, right now. I had a stroke a few months ago, the scariest thing and I have a rare incurable sickness, affects Europeans, etc. I was left alone to care for my 8 year old daughter after hospital. I could hardly talk, walk etc. But I blasted Music and i fought it . My daughter is my life. I love the musical poetry, altruism, and them as people. Anthony Kiedis, Flea saved me and my daughter's life. Now I am starting a great international business to help people and to have money to secure my daughter, Maddie, she's gifted. We're poor financially but I've struggled fought to be best in college I was for 3 plus years on a scholarship after dropping out in tenth grade. I had life to live. Then my mom got sick, I studied to become her hospice worker. She died. I left school. I'm ready for transformation.

I cannot wait for a film to come out about this band, a 3 hour epic. from the very beginning, no bullshit. would be great, but Frusciante certainly wouldn't want anything to do with it.

the age-old "artistic differences" shtick. I mean, I stand behind Frusciante 100%, he should do whatever makes him happy and to be honest integrity should be commended in this day and age but it'd be a shame if he was to disregard his past as if to deny the impact he's had on popular culture.
Dr: Great comment! It's unfortunate that a lot of people feel like being that successful is something superficial or bad?!? If your doing it for the wrong reasons, yes I can see that mindset BUT these guys have never compromised & that something to take even more pride in! Just my opinion is all I understand if other don't agree but I do feel that way.

I know lots of people claim they are perpetually 13 years old, but I think Anthony and Flea personify that sentiment. Even though they are brilliant musicians and clearly very intelligent, they act like middle school boys. And its stupidly endearing.

Jamie Hellfire Mike had a rivalry with Anthony and was purposely making the rhcp look like a joke. The jabs came in Mike's song what is this...obviously making fun of the other band Slovak went off to join and a thorn in Anthony's side.
