this isn't from a movie, haha (although it would be awesome to see it made into one someday). Na Na Na is from the concept album Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, and Gerard Way (the lead singer) created a comic book series which continued the storyline where the album left off.

i recently discovered that gerard was on his way to a meeting at cartoon network when he saw 9/11 happen in person, which changed his perspective on life (he was an animator prior to MCR, which would leak into his the art and concepts for MCR’s albums).

That’s so cool to come at it from that side! Gerard actually wrote another comics series which this album belongs in the universe of! Each of their characters was designed by him, and he also did the art for the car and on their previous album the concept art for the Welcome to the Black Parade music video. So it’s fitting that you could find comic related connections! I agree, Gerard has stated that Queen is one of their influences. Also, millennials has said that Welcome to the Black Parade is their Bohemian Rhaspody of their generation. And why have you not checked out Helena? This was the song that got me hooked on this band. The entire Black Parade LP should have a listen, it is a masterpiece. Should also check out some songs of their songs that only true fans know like Boy Division, Ambulance and The Light Behind your Eyes (more mellow and emotional, I believe it was a song he sang to his daughter).
I feel like what they also have in common with Queen is the way how they kept on re-inventing themselves. Every single LP of them has a highly distinct sound and style to it while being unmistakably MCR, to the extent that you can pinpoint any MCR song to an album, just by the way it sounds. Having had my formative years while they were active, I feel like MCR probably can be considered a once in a generation band and really a unique experience to grow up alongside, just due to how bright and fast they burned as a band. Especially since the band singlehandedly defined emo more than any other band before or after them. While I won't be able to visit their reunion concert once covid is over, I'm stoked as hell about them performing together again and I'm absolutely hopeful that we maybe may some day see a new release. Just the reaction to them announcing their reuinion tour had me hyped, emo's not dead after all.

Kind of irrelevant but you should listen to Billie Eilish. She SWEEPED the Grammy's this year, winning every category, and is the youngest artist to ever do so. She's young. Like young young. Like both in Dec 2001 young. She's only 18 atm. She wrote and produced her debut studio album with her brother Finneas in their bedroom at home, the wikipedia page for the album actually cites the studio it was recorded at as "Finneas' home studio" hahaha (at the age of 16!!!!!). Actually she still lives with her parents! Her stuff is pretty... sad, but incredibly meaningful, intricately produced, and you can tell she's changing the music industry. React to her whole album, but some you should do are Bad Guy, Everything I wanted, you should see me in a crown. Oh and she recently did the new song for the James Bond movie, the last one with Daniel Craig. She has some great live stuff too, I recommend the stuff from Howard Stern. She's also a huuuuuuuuuggeee Justin Bieber fan and was ever since she was like 8 years old, and actually got Justin on a remix of Bad Guy (look at the cover art for that remix!)
