So this is it, the last Cardiacs song. Unlike other bands like the Beatles who keep making their 'last song' (seriously its happened like 3 times already!), this truly feels like a finale. It is such a joy to know not only that this band existed, but that it still exists on our minds, in our souls, and around our turntables. Seeing comments everywhere online with nothing but praise and admiration, I've come to see this band was not only loved, but an inspiration. After hearing how numerous other musicians, animators, and other creative types cite Cardiacs directly, I see that this was not really an ending but a beginning. Really that's why I find this song feels like a proper finale to the band. The lyrics here represent true creativity, looking at what is right in front of you and realizing you can change the world.
@@JulianHBurchillgood news actually! Many of Tim's friends and colleagues are trying to make the album this song was originally going to bookend a reality. It was basically done besides some vocals and production.
This song puts me in the mood of being at the funfair for the last day before closing for the end of summer season. Not knowing the fair would never be quite open again. 😢
This song has been an ear worm for several days now. One that I never want to leave. I am certainly glad Tim visited us in this mortal coil for the time he walked the Earth.
I love how all the layers fade in and out, giving the impression they’ve always been there, but hiding just under the surface. The musical equivalent of a psychedelic trip
I often listened to a live bootleg of this song in the forest in the early 2010s, it felt like knowing a strange secret, people weren't even sure of its title back then
Think of a way Then always go the other way In customary evenings, legendary mornings Louder than drums and softer than a cloud Leaves being blowed away [Verse 2] Hard as soft nails and knives and even Harder than pulling a soldier off your sister Hands were all shaking they're all of his fingers [Verse 3] Son stop staring yond If you look your eyes will grow germs You can't pick them up 'cause they're glued to the floor Made it unkind (not money) for not staring all day at them [Verse 4] And has your mother sold her mangle Last time I did saw her, she was in a dream dress Playing with flies in the weeping willows' dank dark ditch [Verse 5] So not so perfect But seeing as how it is a funny kind of apple who practices every day There’s room for a big forgive and a surprise and adventure [Verse 6] And what adventures And all only for feat are They building a long slide And along it they glide Danger all around and without a sound Bound on the ground [Verse 7] I am the git that walks all by himself Your bargain was by me All places are alike to me "How did I get here?" said I, who can’t believe me eye [Verse 8] Hands are all shaking That out all of his fingers Hands they were all shaking Then all of his fingers Hands were all shaking they're all of his fingers

Well it would be difficult to continue after their lead singer and main songwriter died.

@@platyproductions Looking forward to it already.

Tim took me places I never thought I'd visit. I often go back and he is always there.

What a tune . Bless you Tim, you were a true genius.
RIP mate.
What a man, what a group.
Brilliant and wonderful they where.

Thank you Max, thank you Tim for everything.
Three years ago today that we lost a true genius.
It's like he even wrote his own funeral dirge. An appropriate final release.
We will praise Him.
Think of a way
Then always go the other way
In customary evenings, legendary mornings
Louder than drums and softer than a cloud
Leaves being blowed away
[Verse 2]
Hard as soft nails and knives and even
Harder than pulling a soldier off your sister
Hands were all shaking they're all of his fingers
[Verse 3]
Son stop staring yond
If you look your eyes will grow germs
You can't pick them up 'cause they're glued to the floor
Made it unkind (not money) for not staring all day at them
[Verse 4]
And has your mother sold her mangle
Last time I did saw her, she was in a dream dress
Playing with flies in the weeping willows' dank dark ditch
[Verse 5]
So not so perfect
But seeing as how it is a funny kind of apple who practices every day
There’s room for a big forgive and a surprise and adventure
[Verse 6]
And what adventures
And all only for feat are
They building a long slide
And along it they glide
Danger all around and without a sound
Bound on the ground
[Verse 7]
I am the git that walks all by himself
Your bargain was by me
All places are alike to me
"How did I get here?" said I, who can’t believe me eye
[Verse 8]
Hands are all shaking
That out all of his fingers
Hands they were all shaking
Then all of his fingers
Hands were all shaking they're all of his fingers
I saw these beautiful lyrics going around, were these fan guesses or is this official :o
@@MaxMobarry Dunno. I found them on a lyrics site. If not official, they at least have a very authentic feel.
Thank you. X
