KAT comes off of the 2nd best defensive team in the NBA last season. The end all is Julius was walking for nothing next year anyway so better they got a pretty damn good player than nothing.

Karl is good if he gets used to his potential. I don't see Thibs doing that.. Thibs was the first to make KAT into a winning player. But that was making him more of a role player...
Not worried at all about it… Katt is the highest scoring center we have had since Patrick Ewing in the 1990s. Then with all the offensive threats in the guards & forward positions.. I see him getting a lot of open passes in the paint..

Julius wants the bag. The Knicks wouldn’t give it to him. Kat makes Knicks starters better. Bridges to the 2. Deuce is Tibbs guy. Better Defender than Dante and 3pt shooting getting very good. Randle saw what the Knicks gave to OG and was probably trying to get more. Those negotiations went down the toilet so he had to be moved.
Donte in one season became one of my favorite players. His absence is gonna be felt.

Does this make us better? We'll see. Instead of the Nova Knicks being Brunson, Hart and Divo its going to be Brunson Hart and Bridges and we just solved our Bigs problem. We basically replaced Hartenstein and Divo with Towns and Bridges from what we had in the Playoffs last year. Randle would have walked next year for nothing and hes never healthy when playoffs roll around. Hes the oldest body 29 year old Ive ever seen.
I don't like the trade. I would have been ok with it had they not traded Randle or Divo. Randle is a head case, BUT Divo had all the heart and fire. KAT is like butter, hot butter. SOFT.
Donte traded becouse deuce needs more playing time and also they LOVE kolek.

Divo should not be a part of this. He needs to go thrive and show this team they shoulda kept him. The Knicks really proved they're just as jumpy as any other franchise. Power of friendship my a55. Some yall coming from emotions have to look at just basketball and how it helps the team adding size and another 3pt shooter that can play the 4 or 5 and is 7 foot tall and yes sucks losing Devo but now Deuce gets all those minutes who can shoot the ball almost as good and has no problem coming off the bench not to knock devo but look at his numbers with less minutes at the start of season getting 15-20 minutes he didnt take off until injuries happened and he was able to take more shots and deuce was able to come in hot shooting just my opinion also as far as IHart goes hes a career backup until Thibs got him and maybe a half season of starting and playing well then imo got exposed in playoffs against Turner so i dont think hes worth 30 mil a yr.. and as far as that Donald guy i root for the knicks and i trust this front office im looking to win a championship so maybe go root for Minnesota now bye!
I don’t love this trade but I understand why they did it; it solidifies the 5 spot a bit more and his shooting is a plus but that was covered by Donte, Julius Brings a Physicality that KAT does not bring another thing is Donte was not going to have trouble getting minutes AT ALL… he was getting his 25-30 with Josh

All these trades, the Knicks made still gonna need back up center or future center to replace Mitch Robinson. If cats get hurt or OG get hurt you’re screwed and it takes less pressure off those guys if they can find a back up center. Or future center
They still need to address the center position issue if you think you’re gonna use cat to switch to center. If he gets injured or OG gets injured, you’re in trouble. I still feel like they need to still get a back up center.

Exactly my thoughts. The move is giving no confidence in the team after they did so much to earn it. It's very weird, players aren't plug and play and everything will run just as smoothly. I don't see fit, whether or not he is talented

Now they're gonna probably play Hart at the 3 with Bridges at the 2, which significantly weakens the bench. That means the microscope is gonna be on and HOT on Deuce and Cam Payne.

would NEVER get a player half as good as KAT for DD. I get DD is a scrappy fan favorite but KAT is a top 20 player in the entire league.
...and if it was DD for KAT then I'd be all for it, but Julius is an All Star. I feel like NYK just screwed themselves b/c KAT's contract gives them very little flexibility if the team doesn't gel and I view the roster as being slightly worse overall as a result of this deal. We could have made this trade at the deadline and at least give the team a shot to see how they play together healthy.
