hackrf+portapak used as a ghost box/spirit box

this is how ive used a hackrf one with portapak as a spirit box/ ghost box no modification needed just update portapak to the latast mayhem firmware and away you go

The SDR Ghost boxes i wrote the Custom firmware for them, The problem with them is there a bit expensive lol, I struggle to sell the cheaper Analogue Ghost boxes. 😂 But atleast you can set this one up to scan out of the box, Analogue radios tend to sound better because they dont Step sweep, so we dont hear the static noise as much well you hear it but its not like the Chh Chh Chh sound lol. Its more blended and softer. 😅

the same as the h2 will work only thing thats diffent is the buttons and small jog wheel

I have a question about that flat rotary dial. Is it better or worse than the one that stands out. Would you rather have the one that stands out? I can see advantages and disadvantages to both...

The one that stands out keeps turning itself on when you throw it in a bag, unless you 3D print a cover to keeps the knob from being depressed.
