Would love to see a little map update of the whole of Africa at the end of the vids so we can see how far you guys have made it.
Or even just maps that show the whole of the country that they're in. Any map that us non locals can make sense of.

I'm constantly scanning Google maps and Google Earth while watching the videos, following the roads Russ is running on. Stop the video when they show the red line, or when they mention a name of a town and search it on Google :)

Yes. You could also add a recurring theme by asking one of you a random question about life in every episode. Or similar, you could give your thoughts to a random quote / tweet.

They're getting better but could still do with a bit more imo. Perhaps a viewer question a day about the effort or his life (to make it more personal to Russ - someone back home could pick from all the replies and send it to the team each day). Also an on screen caption for the start of each day would be good.
@@ric112 Yep that was missing, I got confused where one minute Russ seemed in touble and then suddenly he was back on the road again. Seems like this one was quite a rushed cut though maybe (with the abrupt ending etc)?

All the landscape is pretty much just nothingness in the desert, should get interesting when he gets around central Africa

Dw about not much happening in this one btw, I've enjoyed it just as much as the previous vids. It's simply how it goes sometimes and I appreciate you don't try to forcefully make it more crazy or shocking or whatever.

If you need some more content options, you could:
- add some numbers on the running conditions like elevation gain, temperature, sunshine duration, rainfall, etc.
- add a short section to introduce every country / region and its culture
- make a recurring theme like "tweet review", "thoughts about a random inspirational quote" or other silly philosophy stuff in every episode
- add way more B roll (running and/or landscape) with music
- showcase your nutrition
- do a mukbang video xD
- try out local sweets / dishes together

Or in general focus on RUNNING (what’s in his rucksack, how much water does he take with him, how many shoes has he got through,..) THE ENTIRE LENGTH (comparison to other countries, comparison to other world records, why these countries and not the others in Africa, explain the planned route) OF AFRICA (this is important, Africa is so underrepresented in the media, people want to see what it’s like, you could just use facts found on the internet and summarise them and show the landscape, explain exactly where you are and what there is to tell about that region).
But I agree, there need to be more people helping I guess. What about someone at home helping with that (like Zac Alsop did)? We need more money!! Where’s the fundraiser link?
Also, I feel like you’re trying to do „exciting“ videos like Zac for example. Those are really cool but maybe your focus should be on something else. Maybe even the running charity - what is all this for? What have you reached so far? How much money have people donated? Where have you been shown in the media? I’ve seen interviews, maybe include those, too? 🤷🏼♀️

What happened to Russ after he got picked up on the side of the road? Did he get medical help, he seemed pretty delirious in the back of the pickup. And how did you find each other after crossing the border?

Yeah, when I was watching I wasn't even sure if he is for real or just joking with the out of water thing?? Something like this definitely deserves more
He's so nonchalant about it *and* doesn't share any details, it's a bit suspicious. I mean, I wouldn't put it past him to just not really react to a thing like that, but I'm thinking maybe at some point he just realized he's getting into a too dangerous and risky territory by staying in the desert with not enough water, so he stopped a car and took a ride to wait for the van in a safe place. Doing a weird face for the camera is not difficult. But I'm not accusing them of this cause it's impossible to say, hopefully they'll elaborate next time.
I checked the map and the road he ran on that day. There wasn't any village in the next 50kms on the road, and the guys were on the border until evening (it was dark when they finished), so it was deadly for Russ really. I think it was real! But since the only village was near the border, he got a ride back to it (I guess) and meet the boys there. Russ was there much earlier. But it would have not sounded pretty awesome, that he walked 30-40 kms in the desert and then went back to the starting point by car (he mentioned: 'the nearest town'). But it was the only responsible decision.
Yeah definitely agree that it was the only responsible decision, I'm glad he could flag down a car. Was hoping for a bit more elaboration, for example on how he got that ride, from who and to where. Would also help like other commenters say to have a map and get a rough idea how Russ moves around.
Was hoping for some footage of them calling eachother over the satellite phone or them reuniting at the end, or at least some footage recorded afterwards talking about what happened. It must have been pretty damn scary out there at night alone, Russ is a beast! Also Harry and Stan are legends for siphoning diesel from a truck in the middle of the desert at night.
Somewhat nearby there seems to be a wellness resort called Ai-Ais.
There also is a lake called Blinkpan with some unnamed buildings surround it.
Nearest large town is Karasburg, but about a 100-150km / 60 - 100 mile drive.
Offering feedback is good but I think people need to remember they’re filming and editing these videos in literally a few days in the middle of a desert. It’s not going to be perfect. Cracking episode, and I still can’t fathom how it’s physically possible to do what Russ is doing. Keep on stomping, looking forward to following the rest this journey.
Gotta respect that as well as running all day every day for the last month in the heat of AFRICA, Russ is still making time to narrate these videos for us and record footage himself along the way. Absolute legend 💪🏻🏃🏼

After watching all these videos recently, I crushed a couple of 5k runs this week, because I'm just too motivated by Russ. Dude is an absolute savage.
This content is so good man, see a lot of comments asking for more running footage etc, which is fair, but i gotta say, I'm love it currently, so entertaining.
A lot of people in the comments have already said it, but it would be cool to see a map of the route and distance covered so far in these videos. Anyways great content! The Namibian desert looks so vast and daunting.

Russ MUST have a GPS phone/tracker for basic safety can someone PLEASE fund this? Only one between him and the support team (so sometimes the support team have it) is madness and very, very dangerous. There are many snakes in Africa where if you're bitten you MUST get to a hospital within the hour or you'll be dead :(

Segments that would be awesome to see so updates aren't repetitive and we get more insight:
- Map updates of overall progress
- Q&A portion from previous comments
- Landscape and the changing areas while driving through the running route
- Nutrition and how food/water is handled
- How the Van is outfitted and how it works with everyone, how Van life works, storage, etc.
- More info on WHY the running, just an update there. You can also add charity to the side of the youtube banner if wanted
- Overall map/route planned and why
Keep up the awesome quality and vids so far, wanted to toss in some creative options to break up the similar format and give more community engagement. You guys are the pros so do with it as you will!
