cool trick that makes a nice 'room' sound is to set up a set of monitors or regular speakers in a larger room and with a stereo pair of SDC mics find a spot in the room where they drums sound the biggest and record the speakers either as your live tracking or afterwards after you've done some balancing. It works pretty well for those of us who have dry but controlled small rooms.
