GREAT TIP on the Sterling Cufflink-back findings!! I've been looking to source some quality silver or gold backs, but companies like Rio ask freaking $30 for a pair and they're not even solid-silver! Love how you achieved a great mirror finish with just some wire brushes and a little compound. I get so overwhelmed using billions of different sand-grits, so the simpler the BETTER!! I'm going to have to try this technique on some 1/10 Platinum Britannia's! Cheers

Thank you, and it appears a few people aren't being notified about videos. Sadly that's TH-cam being TH-cam and I don't have the answers for it ☹️

Very nice, I have made a few of these , I am about to make some more ready for Xmas. Is there a reason you hand polished them? I just stick them in the drum polisher.
It is such a simple piece to make, yet it makes great gifts.
Anyone thinking of making these you need to buy the coins from before 1920, I think post 1920 they went to only 50% silver.

I hand polish because its what I'm used to doing and I don't have a drum polisher. And yeah this was a fun little project.

@@natecharleswatches thank you, if you ever buy one go for the rubber drum, the plastic one is terrible. I recently bought the Cooksongold Gold Pro barrel, it is great.

    Why?
You can't get rid of them except for scrap.
    Nobody wears them anymore.
    You only wrecked the coins

Nobody uses the coins 😂, and there's no value in scrapping so why wouldn't I

People still wear cufflinks, last week the local gift shop owner asked me to start making them for Xmas, she has been getting requests for silver cufflinks.
The coins are cheap, I bought six last week for £6, scrap value is very little.
