You are a very good teacher don't talk to little or too much I'm getting back into the jewelry repair after 40 years vacation haha going to take my grandchildren something if I can hopefully thank you for the videos
Thank you so much Chad. Your ideas are great and I love your calm demeanor. It makes watching you very easy and more able to concentrate on the techniques. I’m binge watching you now!
I would love to thank you for your inspiring and teaching videos. I am a severely disabled artist from Germany and think about starting silver- and goldsmithing for quite some time now. Since I mostly spend my time in my medical bed, up until now I kinda avoided having molten metal and 2000 degree hot torches in my bed, but seeing your beautiful work really makes me wanna try it out. 🤔😅 Thank you for your calm and slow style that really shows how to make such wonderful jewellery.
Hello Chad, love ur work! I'm a beginner, learning & playing alot. Where do you order ur tubing & some silver supplies from? Sometimes Amazon is not the way to go I hav found.
Hey Chad, I love your video's. Where and what type of magnesia block do you use. I ordered one from amazon and its to hard to press anything down into it. Was reading on the internet and jewelers say the blocks have gotten harder and soft ones hard to find. Thanks!
Thanks Mike! I've been getting them from amazon lately as well, and mine have been pretty crumbly. Maybe whoever manufactures these has developed a quality control issue...
Very good channel, my dad was a jeweler for 25 years and i never paid much attention until he passed and i found his silver scraps in an Altoids tin. I wanted to secretly make my sister a piece of jewelry with it, but wanted to practice on scrap jewelry. Here i am a year later with a homemade forge making coins, bars, and now jewelry. I need advice, I'm making a HUGE bail for a 16mm Miami cuban chain, i like the 2nd "tube with 2 attachment points" but concerned the tube will clash with the chain shape? Any recommendations or will it be ok? I bought some 20ga soft wire but i think i wanted to make it with 14semi hard at least because pendant is 50 grams.
Hello Reid:). It's a pretty neutral flame. Since only atmospheric oxygen is being pulled into the flame, it doesn't seem to oxidize the metal much. Definitely better than the old Benzomatic propane torch I have my beginners start with.
Hello Jennifer. The only real advantage they provide is they are soft enough to push parts of your piece right into them, securing them in place. They are crumbly and messy and have to be replaced frequently, but indispensable for certain situations in my opinion.

What a nice thing to say! I'm really glad you like the videos. It does seem a bit risky using a torch in bed:). Thank you for the lovely comment!
Thanks for the ideas on different bail styles. Its perfect timing on the video! I have several medallions that all need unique bails.
You’re welcome Dane! Thanks for the nice comment:)
I’m always looking for bail designs as I make different styles of necklaces with various materials so THANK YOU! ❤
You're welcome Kim!

Thanks Dustin! Send me a pic of the chain and the pendant to my Instagram account and I can advise you a little better. Thanks for the nice comment:)
Chad, with that type of torch, is it always a neutral flame? Does it help to control fire stain better than other torch types?

@@chadssilversmithing Thanks for your reply. I enjoy your channel.
As a beginner, I'm using a regular stone block & charcoal. What does the magnesium block do?
