Luffy is so broken its hard seeing him like this especially since he's so happy go lucky all the time. Luffy really be going through some sh*t but thankfully he got a great support system around him like Jimbei, Hancock, etc and of course Law for helping him
Shanks as an individual is the weakest yonko, but he’s the fastest and most skilled fighter of them all and his entire crew has power close to his own, unlike the other yonko whose crew are much weaker than them, it’s why everyone fears them, it’s like a whole yonko crew

Luffy isn't just saddened he is Hella mad and frustrated that he couldn't do anything to stop Aces death he was so close of escaping with Aces he did everything to rescue him
This is particularly hard on Jerry who lost his father recently (that's why he was away) you can tell just by looking at his face when Luffy wakes up and starts shouting.
Great episode!!!!! Excellent voice actor Mayumi Tanaka. I didn't know she also voiced Yajirobe from DBZ.

This guy , Luffy, literally said "People die..." to a girl Vivi, back in Alabasta arc, and act like people died is like nothing until he experienced it himself. Truly well written character and story. GOATED Goda
Yes, I love the parallels. And I feel like it's very realistic too. One may not have that big of a problem if random people die in a war, but suffers to accept the reality when it's their family.
Because Ace was all he had. He was fine when number 2 died, but Ace was Luffy's family. He doesn't have the luxury Vivi had.

The portrayal of his characters emotions is one of Oda's greatest traits within his Manga. Scenes like the ending of this Ep. can only make you feel so much dependening on how invested you become within a characters and he makes you feel like no one can do, what he just did to you again, and then he does it again and again and again
I think what also helps are his characters exaggerated faces that tells you exactly how the character feel or thinking.
His brother died he’s traumatized everyone doesn’t just cry he was brutally killed in front of him after fighting a literal war to free one of the few family members he has left
Luffy has no intent to kill but if you die from fighting him he wont be mad either
."A" stands for Ace, "S" stands for Sabo, and "C" stands for "crybaby" (meaning Luffy). Finally, "E" stands for Edward Newgate, who Ace considered his father and the man he owed everything to.
This were some of the hardest episodes for me to watch when I first started cause my older brother got me into One Piece and I always saw me as Luffy and him as Ace. So when Ace died it hit hard cause I kept imagining myself in that situation.
I'm baffled by the fact that a guy who can't tell the difference between genjitsu and genjutsu calls himself "anime king"

Wells and Pat look happy when seeing Luffy in pain, I can see they smile in they face. Rob and Evan got a genuinely feel Luffy pain more and understand his feeling
They aren’t happy, they just don’t like showing emotions and hide there sadness with a smile. Kinda like what Doffy does. I think they are insecure about showing emotions or something like that. But u are right it’s weird when they smile at sad stuff all the time.

And who actually would try to tattoo themselves? Especially if they want a tattoo that looks good.
@Kurotetsu Oda has actually planned many characters quite early on (Rayleigh was on chapter 19 and Jinbe at Arlong arc).
Also I did some research and apparently Oda has said on the 4th Databook One Piece Green: Secret Pieces that Ace's tattoo was tribute to Sabo.

What a hypocrite this Rob guy is, badmouthing when zoro cried and saying cry like luffy and all. Zoro cried because of his weakness which couldn't make him defeat the strongest swordsman which was his promise to his dead friend where luffy crying because of his weakness of not saving his brother. Zoro feels weak, he cried. Luffy feels weak, he cried. That's all.
Black Beard doesn't realize that he built a crew out of fear and favors. He might get backstabbed at some point. I really don't like how they treat one piece sometimes. In latest reaction they were almost talking the whole time when shank was speaking and even were laughing during dadan's speech. On the other hand when they watch boruto even when nothing is going on in fillers they listen to each and every dialogue and on little things starts praising it. Its sometimes really irritating.And even they were smiling at jimbae's dialogue.
