Those are awesome stories. These guys lived their engineering, not by degrees from some establishment, but from the school of hard knocks. Somehow it never occurs to guys like Warren that it can’t be done so they just do it! Love it!
Another awesome story. Warren is a true engine master learning from experience, failing and trying again. Great series. Look forward to the next one. Be safe and stay well
Ya. Such an interesting man. TH-cam videos of his stories will be timeless..im sharing this one with my son. Hes a heavy duty mechanic. Thanks again guys!
I am not anywhere near this man's level but I put a 453 detroit in my GMC 2500 4X4 pickup back in the early sixties... in Forks washington. I do believe that there would be a few people who remember it because of the loud sounds that truck made. Yes it did have a blower on it as diesel engines need the air. They don't have manifold vacuum so its much better to force air in with the fuel that is injected... I have since done the 3208 cat engine in several ford two ton flatbed trucks we used for hauling wood with. Its not rocket science but its the weight of the engine that you have to overcome. This man is quite the story teller ... I have done similar things talking to others of my own exploits of mechanicing... fab work is much more fun than the boring everyday same old thing
