The letter mentioned that he will find his long lost old best friend in the game but he was too afraid to take the offer but he has to anyway since his wage isn't enough for him as a lawyer. For years, Leo wasn't able to find his lovely daughter. Leo treated her as a gem and would do anything for his daughter. So Leo participated in the game but sadly as the hunter just to find his daughter, not realising that his daughter is in the game. Same as for Emma as she too wanted to find her long lost father, so she created the scarecrow that resembles her father. Emma treated it as her father and not realising that it is fake. The Doctor wanted to find a cure for Emma since Emma has mental issues and caught with depression as she has no parents and lived on as a sad orphan. Since then, the manor invited Emma to play the game this time because Emma read the invitation and notice that his father is inside the game. Emma brought the scarecrow out in the open and burned it just to attract Leo's attention. While Riley is decoding the machine with the Doctor, both of them heard a noise outside. So Riley asked the Doctor to check out and soon she got attacked by Leo because of the burned scarecrow. The reason why he is so furious and attacked without thinking is because of Riley who stole his family and thought that that was Riley but it was the Doctor. This is just my theory...

So I think Martha is Emma's mother name. My opinion is that Martha Coordinator and this Martha is a complete different person ** Lydia is Emily's real name.I think after being blinded with fame and money, she soon realize what she did and want to start over again, so she changed Emma and her name # In Freddy's diary, he sneeked into Emily's room, after he saw that she once work in **** private hospital (i don't remember the name) he smiled evilly and said "So it's you,huh" so Emily might have did some thing hurtful to him such as his baby and his stolen-from-his-best-friend-wife

That's bc the button eyes are just how the detective reimagines them, the whole game is just him reading the journals and reimagineing it in his head. Hence why the detective does not have button eyes.
okay so this is what i’m getting; emma wood’s real name is lisa beck and she’s the daughter of leo beck and a woman named martha. leo and freddy riley (the lawyer) were friends/business partners, but at some point freddy grew interested in martha, leo’s wife. in an attempt to take his money and wife, presumably to purposely lead him into debt so martha would leave him, freddy suggests leo buys a arms factory - what leo didn’t know was that it was in severe debt and thus made him lose ridiculous amounts of money. because of this, martha and him began arguing often (it’s pointed out by emma) and one day she leaves him for riley. during this time, leo tried to make it work by selling objects around the house but once people caught wind of the fact he was in debt the beck’s began being the victims of constant thievery (an example would be the Theif that later joins the game). now drowning in debt, leo decides to leave emma in an orphanage and burns the arms factory down and is pronounced legally dead. freddy, as his lawyer and now lover of martha, inherits the money since emma isn’t of age. emma is now living at the i orphanage funded by pierson but the conditions are so bad they are forced to turn it into an asylum for children. during her stay at the orphanage, leo, who is alive, is offered an invite to the game - his prize would be his debt being cleared and the ability to meet his child, emma, again. unfortunately, he grows agitated and angry at the game - perhaps even thinking he wouldn’t win - and one day fails to comply to the rules (write in your diary every day) and is burned alive and brought back as a hunter - the hell ember. while this is happening, martha and freddy’s relationship starts to strain. she finds out she’s pregnant and she’s horrified at the realization, because of this she goes to a doctor named lydia jones (we know her as emily dyer aka the doctor) who performs illegal abortions (she used to have a clinic, even if she wasn’t a licensed doctor, but she wasn’t generating any money so she turned to illegal procedures in an attempt to make money) where she passed away due to said failed abortion. emily finds out she had a daughter named emma, presumably while talking with martha, and how her formed husband had died. it’s possible martha felt guilty about leaving emma alone and wished to go find her. with martha dead, emily hides her body and has dogs eat her and goes on to try and find emma as a way to pay her respects for martha. she finds emily the asylum where she’s forced to operate on her and other patients, because of this emma becomes a very disturbed girl, plus previous events in her life, she still however trusts and cherishes emily. once she’s of age, emma runs away and changes her name from lisa beck to emma woods in an attempt to throw off emily and those around her. emma later receives an invitation to the game a few years later, perhaps with the promise of finding her parents or the doctor who’s treated her. there she meets emily, freddy, and pierson. she remembers emily but says nothing, waiting for her to remember her - she asks about her previous job in an attempt to get her to talk but finds out instead she regretted what she did to her patients but wanted to help others anyway. with this confirmed, emma grows attached to emily once again. she doesn’t remember freddy or pierson, and pierson doesn’t remember her as little lisa beck either, while freddy does remember her but he doesn’t regret what he did at all. with the four reconnected, alongside lucky guy who doesn’t share much connection to the story, they are now being chased by the man who ties them all together; leo beck.
My theory is that if emma new what would happen she should have know why her mother left but when leo some how got in the manor he was in a jacket with a mask but lawyers not dead cause after he ran and caught him he had him some were as well with emily he was in his origanal clothe when she was in the game he jump over the brick wall he caught her too but not emma or thief cause they had nothing to do with it well emma was in the family but idk why he did not get her too but maybe in one of the storys we see riley and emily get caught and two things he either killed them or did some thing tragic but for now lets stick with the story and dont worry about theif cause he is one of the good guys and i feel like dectective is up to something cause how does he know where the books are well he knows what they look like but how did he spot it like that quick and he must be the one behind all of this because only survivors have buttons on there eyes not hunters dont but alot of them have masks on and he might be one hunter or who controls the manor but anyways thats my theory

That's bc the button eyes are just how the detective reimagines them, the whole game is just him reading the journals and reimagineing it in his head. Hence why the detective does not have button eyes.

okay so this is what i’m getting;
emma wood’s real name is lisa beck and she’s the daughter of leo beck and a woman named martha.
leo and freddy riley (the lawyer) were friends/business partners, but at some point freddy grew interested in martha, leo’s wife. in an attempt to take his money and wife, presumably to purposely lead him into debt so martha would leave him, freddy suggests leo buys a arms factory - what leo didn’t know was that it was in severe debt and thus made him lose ridiculous amounts of money.
because of this, martha and him began arguing often (it’s pointed out by emma) and one day she leaves him for riley. during this time, leo tried to make it work by selling objects around the house but once people caught wind of the fact he was in debt the beck’s began being the victims of constant thievery (an example would be the Theif that later joins the game).
now drowning in debt, leo decides to leave emma in an orphanage and burns the arms factory down and is pronounced legally dead. freddy, as his lawyer and now lover of martha, inherits the money since emma isn’t of age.
emma is now living at the i orphanage funded by pierson but the conditions are so bad they are forced to turn it into an asylum for children.
during her stay at the orphanage, leo, who is alive, is offered an invite to the game - his prize would be his debt being cleared and the ability to meet his child, emma, again. unfortunately, he grows agitated and angry at the game - perhaps even thinking he wouldn’t win - and one day fails to comply to the rules (write in your diary every day) and is burned alive and brought back as a hunter - the hell ember.
while this is happening, martha and freddy’s relationship starts to strain. she finds out she’s pregnant and she’s horrified at the realization, because of this she goes to a doctor named lydia jones (we know her as emily dyer aka the doctor) who performs illegal abortions (she used to have a clinic, even if she wasn’t a licensed doctor, but she wasn’t generating any money so she turned to illegal procedures in an attempt to make money) where she passed away due to said failed abortion. emily finds out she had a daughter named emma, presumably while talking with martha, and how her formed husband had died. it’s possible martha felt guilty about leaving emma alone and wished to go find her. with martha dead, emily hides her body and has dogs eat her and goes on to try and find emma as a way to pay her respects for martha. she finds emily the asylum where she’s forced to operate on her and other patients, because of this emma becomes a very disturbed girl, plus previous events in her life, she still however trusts and cherishes emily. once she’s of age, emma runs away and changes her name from lisa beck to emma woods in an attempt to throw off emily and those around her.
emma later receives an invitation to the game a few years later, perhaps with the promise of finding her parents or the doctor who’s treated her. there she meets emily, freddy, and pierson. she remembers emily but says nothing, waiting for her to remember her - she asks about her previous job in an attempt to get her to talk but finds out instead she regretted what she did to her patients but wanted to help others anyway. with this confirmed, emma grows attached to emily once again. she doesn’t remember freddy or pierson, and pierson doesn’t remember her as little lisa beck either, while freddy does remember her but he doesn’t regret what he did at all.
with the four reconnected, alongside lucky guy who doesn’t share much connection to the story, they are now being chased by the man who ties them all together; leo beck.

My theory is that if emma new what would happen she should have know why her mother left but when leo some how got in the manor he was in a jacket with a mask but lawyers not dead cause after he ran and caught him he had him some were as well with emily he was in his origanal clothe when she was in the game he jump over the brick wall he caught her too but not emma or thief cause they had nothing to do with it well emma was in the family but idk why he did not get her too but maybe in one of the storys we see riley and emily get caught and two things he either killed them or did some thing tragic but for now lets stick with the story and dont worry about theif cause he is one of the good guys and i feel like dectective is up to something cause how does he know where the books are well he knows what they look like but how did he spot it like that quick and he must be the one behind all of this because only survivors have buttons on there eyes not hunters dont but alot of them have masks on and he might be one hunter or who controls the manor but anyways thats my theory
Lol what you mean?? It's a detectives nature to read anything in a crime scene to at least gather some proof or evidence. Those books were there..But why? He is suspicious..but it has nothing to do with knowing the placements of the diaries.

If you look closely în The mirror you can see Hell Ember witch is making me think that detective is One of The hunters and be remembers Hell ember(most probably smiley face because of mental problema) and also probably The persona Who writed on The mirror,, trust yourself'' was ripper because he can be come invisible

I feel like the reason why the Thief is so obsessed with Emma(Gardener) is because he took care of her or knew her from the orphanage she was in. I dont know, but thats just my theory on his obsession with her.
