Brought no offense but this is just fancy talk We now know what happened A good friend of his who just so happens to be named T-Pain has been working to get his nappy boy automotive brand off the ground He gave hurt partial ownership in the company and now they're going to grow that thing together... Like he has his own TH-cam channel and I'm pretty sure Hoonigan camp was paying him well I'm sure he was making more than enough money to just pay the bills I'm pretty sure considering his car collection He is a relatively substantial savings his son his family were going to be more than all right.... It just so happens He was given a better opportunity that allows for growth

I believe they have mutual respect, but it's clear he wanted to stay at Hoonigan (he states he was their 4th employee) and get some kind of ownership stake. Either they didn't offer any or it wasn't enough...either way...I think Hert expected more than what he got. Time will tell if this was the right decision. I would've gone 'part time' or something to keep my profile up while my own thing got going...

I stumbled across you guys in 2020, the year my second son was born. I spent up to eight hours a day for 3 months holding him in a children’s hospital 5 hours from home. I did this to keep him comfortable while my wife worked to keep our health insurance. Scrolling through TH-cam looking for an escape, I found your content and enjoyed every minute of it. You all just seemed to fit together. The projects were fun, the burn yard was fun…all of it. My son is one of five children known in the world with an unnamed genetic disorder. He may never walk or talk. But he loves the sound of engines and burn outs. We still watch hours of car content. We can’t thank you enough for helping us get through a difficult time in our lives. We wish you all the best moving forward 🙏🏼
Yea i remember getting into hoonigan BECUASE of Hert and Street Shark youtube videos. Watching the video of his rx7 with Childish Gambino playing in the edit just opened up a whole new world to me when i was a teenager in highschool. Hert, I feel you. Im stepping out of my career for the last 22yrs and completely changing career fields. I spent the last 18 yrs having to place my job over my family and can relate on spending the next period focusing on my family. I look forward to following your next adventure!

As true as that statement is, I think the future of everything fast cars is in good hands with the people who are big, and the people who are branching out from those big roots. Hert has made me laugh in low times through these past 10 years (lost my dad 11 ago and the hoonigan channel, and a rekindled love of drift cars got me through the worst of it) in ways that I wish I could personally thank him for. His pursuits and endeavors in life are all his own and the fact he decides to share them with us all is pretty bold and worth commending. I hope for the best for him.
You will always be remembered and loved. You handled the resignation great and nobody can ever say anything but you were awesome. One thing I learned about life is that when it comes to guys (pre-family), we just want to have fun and be part of other people's projects and goals. As we grow older, wiser, and build a family, now you have a family to secure. And having fun and being part of another person's dream will not safely secure your family. Therefore, by nature, you want to build your own empire for you and your family, and have young, eager, enthusiasts help you build your empire for the next decade or so until they'll need to build their own. The one thing I remember the most about The climbkhana files was you holding a rod with a GoPro on the end, end the other guys praising you for knowing how a car will react and therefore gets the best shots. As you said, you guys went against the grain. And I am a so big fan for it! No corporate angles, just friends out there making cars and having fun. You tapped into the Jackass/skater culture in a way too. Not in stunt and madness, but just you could see you had a good time together. And just some of the cars you buildt! A rallycross Fiesta at ARA, Hoonicorn, Hoonitruck, Escort Cossie V2.. Just making cars of high quality, but still having the punk rock/hip hop edge. I watched Kens mystories on Instagram everyday, tuned in to Car crash weekly, watching the Gymkhana videos at the second they released with friends. You inspired me, and now I am faking till I'm making myself. Doing Facebook shorts for a rallycross team running an Ford RS200.

As true as that statement is, I think the future of everything fast cars is in good hands with the people who are big, and the people who are branching out from those big roots. Hert has made me laugh in low times through these past 10 years (lost my dad 11 ago and the hoonigan channel, and a rekindled love of drift cars got me through the worst of it) in ways that I wish I could personally thank him for. His pursuits and endeavors in life are all his own and the fact he decides to share them with us all is pretty bold and worth commending. I hope for the best for him.
You will always be remembered and loved. You handled the resignation great and nobody can ever say anything but you were awesome. Spend some family time, get everything that happened together and I'm sure millions of us want to know everything when you're ready. If you can't find anyone, feel free to reach out. One thing I learned about life is that when it comes to guys (pre-family), we just want to have fun and be part of other people's projects and goals. As we grow older, wiser, and build a family, now you have a family to secure. And having fun and being part of another person's dream will not safely secure your family. Therefore, by nature, you want to build your own empire for you and your family, and have young, eager, enthusiasts help you build your empire for the next decade or so until they'll need to build their own. It's life's cycles. It's how we all thrive in life.

1. When Ken passed it could just be a lot to still be around Hoonigan, all the memories and all.
2. When Hoonigan sold some of the OG employees like Hurt felt shafted to not be compensated. He mentioned “I was not an owner when it was acquired” in this video even.
Ken is the only reason all of this happened.... It's a life changer game changer and Hoonigan will never be the same again!

Thank you for all the content, man. The one thing I remember the most about The climbkhana files was you holding a rod with a GoPro on the end, end the other guys praising you for knowing how a car will react and therefore gets the best shots.
As you said, you guys went against the grain. And I am a so big fan for it! No corporate angles, just friends out there making cars and having fun. You tapped into the Jackass/skater culture in a way too. Not in stunt and madness, but just you could see you had a good time together. And just some of the cars you buildt! A rallycross Fiesta at ARA, Hoonicorn, Hoonitruck, Escort Cossie V2.. Just making cars of high quality, but still having the punk rock/hip hop edge.
I watched Kens mystories on Instagram everyday, tuned in to Car crash weekly, watching the Gymkhana videos at the second they released with friends. You inspired me, and now I am faking till I'm making myself. Doing Facebook shorts for a rallycross team running an Ford RS200.
