The late 90s... what a time to be alive. This was ESPN
PEAK ESPN!!! Yessir!!!
@@unafraidjlay Peak humanity.
So true it hurts ..
Preach
This is how you do reporting kids! No one better.
Well back then the media was actually required to tell the truth instead of just reporting whatever regardless of whether it's true or not
Facts.
@farajicouncil4496 lol media been lying since it started.
Lebron already GOAT
NBA finals a whole nother proof Lebron carried Kyrie
@@___Anakin.Skywalker smh. Why bring him up? I'm tlkn about the reporting skills.
Stuart Scott quoting a Biggie song while reporting the Flu Game brought a smile to my face. Long Live The 90s!
It’s a Slick Rick song you clown 🤡
STU had another one where he goes. "Stop! , Drop! Shut em down open up, shot!
@@je5406boooyahh
And let's not forget that Biggie had just passed away three months prior.
@@fernandocarrazzoni and Bad Boy literally ran the radio that year too.

R.I.P Stuart Scott you are missed 🎙📺👼
I used to get up extra early to catch morning sportscenter before the school bus came. Those were the days. Live Long Stuart
Ditto.
Born in 83. Everything was better during this time, especially ESPN. Jordan is the GOAT, too. Lol
Facts i wAs late every morning for school
100 💯 rip scott😮❤
🎯🎯🎯
This is when ESPN was actually good 😅
When ESPN was about sports.
This is prime ESPN , in high school this was the go to for sports
Just the music bring back a lot of memories.
It’s a different era. No streaming, no cell phones, no social media, no distractions. This was the only game in town. I doubt it would be that popular today.
Haha....MTV used to be good too
Stuart Scott was such a monumental loss. Not just for ESPN, but every sports fan around the world. And of course his daughters 😢. I ACTUALLY watched ESPN EVERY morning before school during this time❤
Me too
Yup even tho I watched the Bulls game night before, always watched ESPN while getting ready for school.
That picture of Jordan & Pippen holding him is legendary
Like the the first astronaut on the Moon 🌙
“Teams didn’t score a lot back then or really shoot 3s”
Which is true, yet MJ still has the highest PPG average in NBA history, that’s wild 🐐
I forgot how good Stuart Scott was. I grew up on all this. NBA on NBC...inside stuff... ESPN when it was ESPN! Thank God 🙏💜
NBA on NBC is coming back but it won’t be the same.
Stuart Scott is literally the reason I fell in love with keeping up with sports as a kid. Watching sportscenter on loop and hearing his voice dozing off on a school night. Now THAT is top tier nostalgia. RIP the goat Stuart Scott.
In the morning for skool as well!
Chicago Bulls and the 90s is like watching a theater show, truly a treat! The videography, the production, the drama, the tension, the competitiveness, and of course MJ mystic was just unmatched
Stuart Scott was a natural. He was amazing. My gosh.
The reporting was crazy good in this era.
Miss these days. Highlights are SO compelling with this style 😮
Stu was such a special talent. RIP LEGEND
The ESPN I grew up on.... Good ole days....
The golden age of ESPN combined with NBA on NBC??!!
NBA on NBC glory days.
RIP to Stuart Scott!
Greatest highlight read ever.
That Jazz team was an unbelievable team.
I agree. I'm a bulls fan and that jazz team had a opportunities to win games 1, 5, and 6 but the bulls prevail to win title #5.
Facts...ima huge fan of that Bulls team also and i def respected the Jazz ...they were fun to watch.
No they wasn’t.Lol u crazy.86 Celtics was unbelievable,88 89 pistons was unbelievable 87 lakers was unbelievable 2001 lakers was unbelievable 83 sixers was great.the Houston rockets won back to back in the 90s it’s one thing winning one chip on the back of Hakeem greatness cause he was great but back to back with that team truly tells u how weak the 90s was.I don’t believe I would have kept watching basketball if it wasn’t for Michael Jordan
@@festusaniemeka3350They literally would be back to back champions if not for Jordan. Malone would be considered a top 10 player if that happened. And Stockton top 15.
@@JordanMartel1992 says alot about the era because that’s definitely not a championship team Malone is a perennial choker in the playoffs in every sense his play drops in every playoff
The Stuart Scott VanPelt sports center were some of the best. Back to back to back.....
That is how you call an action game highlight. RIP Stu. There will never be another like you.
Whoah. That was actually entertaining highlight commentary. Wild.
I remember this game quite well, doesn't matter if I was 13. I remember the 2nd Jazz series, Supersonics, and the Suns finals the most.
Same, I was 10, but I won't ever forget that game. I still watch the highlights of it quite often. What MJ did that day was unbelievable. It has to be one of his all time great peformances.
I was 9. Still had my white 23 bulls J.. 😅
I Graduated Eighth Grade A Couple Hours before the start of the game.
I rushed home to watch the second half.
Great Memories!
Growing up as a kid seeing Stuart Scott on TV always brings excitement and fun while he commentates on the game. His energy is unmatched and spoke the same language just like us. That what made Stuart Scott so special. He always be truly miss every single day. R.I.P. To the Legend Stuart Scott One Love
They loved the smooth jazz back in the 90’s
Waking up early every morning just to watch the endless loop of sports highlights on ESPN before leaving for school. That was my alarm clock. Thanks for being such a big part of my childhood, Stuart. You are sorely missed.
Man, I really miss Stuart Scott and his reporting....hope he's resting in peace
Never met Stuart Scott but man I miss him. Boo ya. Rest in peace.
Now we stuck with screaming a smith
It's immoratlized in NBA 2k11. The FLU GAME.
The Greatest 2K game ever!! I still play it daily.

*Food Poisoning Game.
I miss the 90s.
I love how their suits match the studio background haha.....90's TV .....golden era of SC =) RIP Stuart Scott BOO YAHHHHHH
Michael Jordan is the GOAT of goats, and nobody is a close second.
Seeing how I can find a comment from you 5 comments down talking about Lebron, I think even YOU think that he is a close second.
Kobe Bryant has entered the chat
Agreed! There is no close second.
@@StoneGonebird close second. MJ had 15 yrs but was injured early in his sophomore yr and came back nearing playoffs on 95 so basically he has 14 yrs and bird has 13 yrs of basketball play as well but then late 3 to 4 yrs was marred by injuries so you can say he has only 10 but solid and quality yrs with 3 chips, 3 straight MVPs and 4 consecutive finals appearance. Gave it all on both ends, as clutch as anyone, excellent playmaker, rebounder, passer, hussle and shooting efficiency at the highest level
@@Kingdizzleltdinc615Kobe 41% & 31% from 3 in Finals career, most played on Easy Mode next to the best Superstar any Superstar ever played with. Kobe Stans are the most delusional fans after the LeBron Lames
On one end you got to give Bryant props for not backing down but on the other.. Yo B that's Mike 😂
Stuart Scott knew back then it was food poisoning before MJ told us 23 years later 😭😭😭
R.i.p. stu you were the best!!! I remember svp and him together when i was little i wish more of the world could have seen it before he passed
Jordan Was Sick Wit It...
An I'm Talking Sick As In Awesome..
😂🤣
Doing it so effortlessly like only Stuart could.
“Teams didn’t score a lot”
Teams also played defense
Crazy right an look at it now Trash
If u Fart its a foul
Some teams have barely been scoring 90 pts in this year’s playoffs because teams have actually been playing defense (finally).
wow. i forgot This espn. this is the ESPN that raised me
🐐🐐🐐🐐 MJ ONE OF ONE... Bron 🍦 would have sat out with street clothes with old lady jewels on.. MJ mentally was a bulletproof tank!
27 years ago Mike had one of the best games in his career. The Epic Flu Game in the '97 Finals. Putting on one of the most amazing performances in NBA history with 38 points and 7 boards winning a pivotal Game 5 in Utah.
Look how much Hair Rich Eisen had back then, a lot has changed in 24+ years. 👨
Man, Stuart Scott was that dude.
I remember this game, me and my mom were literally hollering at the tv as Jordan powered through to another masterpiece. Good times.
Rip Stewart Scott 🙏🏾 💯💯💯
This is the peak of ESPN, and MJ doing goat things
Stuart Scott is the GOAT
4:43 When you get CHECKED for trying to diminish one of THE GREATEST Finals games AND Performances EVER!
True…and if SVP noticed, teams in the playoffs this year have barely been scoring 90 pts and that’s with attempting A LOT more 3s. They were actually playing defense but the games were still exciting with lower scores.
The writing is so good…
Stew!!! The sauce he put on commentating buttah we miss ya. I know you would be proud of Svp he’s Mr. SportsCenter!
RIP Stu. He was 1 of 1
Stuart’s flow was just fun and entertaining…miss him
I thought we were "done with the 90's."
They'll be watching this long after I'm gone. Blessed to have been alive and aware during the era of the GOAT!
The true sports fan watched this ALL MORNING!!
I remember I was sitting in a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel room watching this game. I will never forget this game.
Really miss those days and especially Stuart Scott
I was 10 and I still remember it vividly. It WAS awesome!!!
Bryan: "is it Michael or Michelle?"
MJ: "so you have chosen death "
Listening to the now deceased commentator , bro, the flow, the creative words , and the delivery were just outstanding.
Sportcenter on repeat. Playing NBA live or Madden. 90's R&B. Laughing at Jerry Springer, Jenny Jones, Ricki Lake , Maury. Living Color, Married with Children or The Simpsons. MTV, BET, and VH1. Talking all night on the phone. And singing all the infomercials that come on. Always saying I'm getting that collection. ❤
NBA at its peak, good ol' times.
We need more of these old school clips
The Flu game was simply an iconic moment - from a player who had so many more iconic NBA finals moments than down moments. An iconic game from a player who’s ceiling was as high as anyone - and who’s floor was higher than anyone.
Stuart Scott was the best Sports Commentator ever! Kids would be late for High School on purpose to see him give Sports Commentating
Stuart Scott the best! Miss that guy! RIP
No better sports analyst than Stuart Scott best ever to do it we miss you (Stu💙)
Man I remember when we got cable and I discovered ESPN! Waking up early in the morning just so I can catch the highlights before going to school! I really miss Stew! RIP to a sports casting legend!
stu was tha reazon eye watch’t sportscenter/espn becides basketball highlights
Wow the natural flow, the flavor, the lingo. Who is better than Stuart Scott?
This is sooo much better than the talking heads on ESPN now. Continue to rest in paradise Stu Scott
I remember this game. My dad jumped up, cheered, ran for the door and never came back,
This was when SportsCenter matters and it was good times
That sax coming in at the start 🔥
Wow. I love this already
Legendary stuff. Long live, stuart! MJ forever! ❤
Stuwart Scott, and Rich Eisen. Best sportscenter duo past, present, or future.
OG SVP, OG Rich Eisen, OG Stuart Scott (RIP)
iconic.
Hearing Stuart quote Biggie reminded he was murdered only a few months prior to this. 😢
Stuart Scott, legend🙏🏾
There was a point in time back then where I didn't miss an episode of SC for like a decade. Everyday.
And since then its been a decade now since i last watched MSESPN 😂😂
That game was awesome glad I watched it as a 9 year old
Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant won their 5th NBA Championship rings in their 30s, before AGE 40. And NOW LeBron James can only win his 5th NBA Championship ring at AGE 40 or older. Michael Jordan won his 5th Ring at AGE 34 and Kobe Bryant won his 5th Ring at AGE 31. LeBron James has only 4 Rings at AGE 40. Michael Jordan won his 4th and 5th NBA Regular Season MVPS in his 30s, before AGE 40 …. LeBron James did not win even ONE NBA Regular Season MVP in his 30s. Michael Jordan won 2 League MVPs in his 30s, before AGE 40. And NOW it’s too late for LeBron James to win his 5th Regular Season MVP in his 30s because LeBron James will be 40-years-old when the next Michael Jordan Regular Season MVP Award-voting takes place.😯 Michael Jordan is the GOAT and Kobe Bryant is better than LeBron James. It is what it is buddy. 🤷♂️🏀🏀🏀🏀🐐🐐🐐✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
@moneyball647 I agree, MJ's the GOAT for sure, and Kobe is an amazing player, but there are several players ahead of him, and Lebron definitely is.
The whole ESPN crew back then are the GOATS.
Blessings Stu
he looked healthy back then and then to think he would deteriorate with time life is crazy
I remember when espn changed from the blue background when showing stats to the beige one around 94
Yes loved watching Stewart when I was a kid b4 school😮
R I P Scott
Everybody is still trying to be Stu and failing at it. He truly was one of a kind.
Throwback 🏀🔥

things are better when WE are great;
there it is.
Posting this when it was announced that they are releasing the flu game 12s next year (2025) is on point
Scoring 38 out of 90 team points is equivalent to scoring 53 out of 125 team points. And let’s not forget mj AVERAGED 33.6 per game in the finals when the average score was around 90 points per team.
ESPN has fell way off,The 90’s was the Golden Age Of ESPN 🥱
🫡Thank you, Stuart Scott
That Jazz logo is a piece of art.
“Yoo B, that’s Mike!” Lol what a legend
