It is most certainly a "hauntingly beautiful" piece, but only if it's played by one who feels the music, rather than just playing it. You are one of those rare people, and it shows. I've heard this piece many times, but your rendition is one of the best I've ever "felt". Bravo ! Keep up the great work. 🥰
Of course you can. I taught myself to play Villa Lobos Prelude No.1 in E. The self teaching wasn't exactly easy but the piece isn't too difficult technically at least. Playing it how the composer intended is another matter. Julian Bream's Masterclass helped quite a lot but when I was teaching myself 12 years ago. The full vid wasn't available on TH-cam. I really could've used it but the full vid is on TH-cam now. I used guitar tabs and they are mostly all, almost completely wrong in most passages, however they are still very useful because they get you playing, working and progressing etc. Annoyingly playing it properly isn't anymore difficult than playing it according to the Tabs. Then you see the piece played properly on YT or wherever and can adjust. Using Tabs isn't ideal but you can get online lessons these days and it is all experience, right or wrong. It doesn't have to be perfect. Perfection comes from variety, experience and regular practice. For me I need a teacher but you could be different. I get frustrated, get a mental block and can't progress. A teacher could really help. I eventually found I played best when I was watching TV (after about a 90 min warm up) and playing. As soon as my full attention went to what I was doing it all went downhill. The subconscious and the conscious mind doing battle I think. So what was my Villa Lobos like? A firm 1/10. After I taught myself that, I severed 2x tendons in my hand and haven't picked the guitar up since LOL. Oh well.
Oooh surprise Beatrix video. What I like the most about your vids Beatrix is that they feel so homely, no overproduced studio nonsense, just you, the guitar, and passion. It's always wonderful to see you play. Cheers,
Hello Beatrix. I can see in your expressions how this well crafted instrument responds with sweet resonance. It’s a gift only a classical guitarist can receive and appreciate.
Beautifully done. I loved the intro and outro. Nice that such a simple addition made the video more personal and accessible. It was like visiting you at home, and you said, "Hey, listen to this new piece I've learned."
Such a beautiful piece of music. I would say that I have heard it before, but I cannot say where or when. But I can say that I cannot get enough of it. Beautiful music from a beautiful lady. Thank you.
Lovely performance. When I first heard "Suite Del Recuerdo" (maybe 20 years ago) I was mesmerized by the many movements, and the haunting beauty of the interwoven melodies.
Yes.Wrap your crying heart around every note and when you are done you'll want to play it again and again until you start crying yourself. Then you would have mastered what the composer intended, I'm still crying. It's amazing how the classical guitar can do this. Love it! ❤
Which only goes to show why a simple relatively slow but beautifully harmonious piece well executed with feeling will get my vote every day, over an overly loud and ridiculously and complicated and fast work. Those pieces are doubtless good for learning a variety of skills but honestly which of the two varieties 9 times out of 10 make the heart soar more? In music we can not deal in absolutes of course because for every general rule you will always find the exception! Anyway, thank you.
It is pieces like this that have helped inspire me to make a commitment to learning classical guitar. They are just so hauntingly beautiful, and I use them as inspiration for when I start to think that I will never get anywhere!
I tried something new with this intro and outro this time. I wanted it to look more welcoming and casual, just like we’re hanging out in my room. I’m not sure if it was a good idea. Any feedback regarding to this would be appreciated!
As already stated in several posts here, very beautifully played! I really loved the tone of your guitar as well! Thank you for sharing such a lovely piece of music!
❤Good morning 🎉how much personal touch the music portrays,so soothingly, so gracefully rendered and performed, without any doubt, superb performance, thanks so much!🎉❤
Me encanta cómo cambiaste la posición de ese B7, permite que resuene por más tiempo y se puede mezclar con la forma original para dar mucho más color a la pieza 🥰
Was not disappointed when I clicked on this. Beautiful and elegant. Thank you!

I can only dream of playing like this some day. Hauntingly beautiful piece so perfectly played.
You can learn to play it. If you want to, I guarantee it. Practice, supervision, you can do it.
