I love that John is interacting with the other people on stage in a very in their face kind of way. Magical. Lots of other things to say about this tour, still taking in the music and formulating thoughts.
went to this show cautiously optimistic because all the iterations prior to D&Co have been a big let down -- even last years version with the same lineup. Now all I can say is wow! It was the real high life.
Mayer said on GD channel that it took him a few months to settle in - late July shows are AMAZING. He's edgier than Trey which fits better with the Dead and Mayer fits like he was born to do this.
Holy cow.I said, do they DARE? I have one IPod loaded with JUST live Mahavishnu, a bit of Allmans, and a choice collection of Dark Stars from 1972 to 1974. I really like what Mayer is doing - on SOME material. BUT: Listening to this, he needs to shut UP and listen. Too many notes. He's not ready. It may never be possible.
