Would have appreciated having voice over commentary onthe video instead og guitar music - could see Gareth was talking/explaining and it would have been much more helpful to know what he was saying. Also agree with the helmet comment for safety videos especially. Thanks for the insights and Happy Trails to all!
great. i feel like I could actually do this when needed :). now: Q: what do you do/ how do you approach jumping/ cross country jumps... and the horse rears and pulls to the side and throws tantrums? do you try to keep them straight or do you turn and turn.. thus the horse can still avoid going over the jump by just turning?
You will repeat the process as often and as many times as necessary. Once the inappropriate response is dealt with, the horse will be able travel through his obstacles well.
Interesting video. My horse is resistant to my leg. When I ask him to go forward into trot he either turns and tries to bite my leg or threatens to rear or in fact does rear. After about 10 min he gives up and works properly. He does the same with transitions to canter. Any suggestions? By the way if you are producing videos for education and young kids may watch you really should wear a safety hat. Not a good example for kids.
I have a young mare that rears if she does not get her way. If we go out and she cannot go forward with the group she will go up. If she s excited she goes up. Please advise🤦♀️
My horse rears when I stop her and I’ve tried tightening and loosening the strap on the bridle but that didn’t work. I’ve tried slowly stopping and adjusting the strap under her chin as well. We’ve tried foaming her mouth at the vet and they didn’t see anything wrong with her mouth. I really really need help so if you could help me that would be great! Just want a nice ride with my horse! 😃
Hi Alysha, it depends on what basics you have in place from the ground,, good basics on the ground would mean you don't need to fix a problem.. I would say your horse doesn't have a problem, he just doesn't understand what you are asking.. to teach the entire basics is more than I can do in a comment section though drop us an email at heartfeltkzn@gmail.com and we can give you some education options that suit you
Enjoyed the video but we dont hear yr information said while working the buckin horse... Also like to mention all your videos are quite hard to find ..maybe add a key search word or something.. The trouble i have with with my boy is he gives me more then willingly his head on ground but once in saddle he fights against me so no matter how hard i pull/hold he just wont give and we end up in a rodeo fight😓

I can't help but notice, that the guy is riding a known rearing horse with out a safety helmet on..... I would be dead if not for a riding helmet.
