I’m happy to see that you are posting videos again. I stopped tying about 6 years ago whe I became unable to fish ( back issues). A year & a half ago, I found out an organization called Healing Waters welcomed donations of flies. I really missed tying & decided to get back into tying, so my flies would have a useful purpose. Since then I have been using your videos & those of several other tyers to bring back memories of forgotten skill & to learn new ones. Thank you for your posts. Thank you also for preserving your 365 & the Raske streamer site through GFF. I was a friend of Mike Martinek & member of United Fly Tyers, & I think it’s important that the records of his & Don Bastian’s work be preserved. Your efforts & Martin’s at GFF have made that happen.
I have little experience Perdigons or with pond fishing. My Healing Waters group is based on a pond. Since I can’t test the flies myself, I’m hoping you could recommend what weights on a Perdigon you would recommend for pond fishing. I’m used to chuck & duck, heavy Clousers in salt or heavy nymphs in fast rivers, but I’m assuming fairly novice fly fishers might have trouble casting heavily weighted flies & that heavy Perdigons might not be needed in a pond.

It's really nice to hear from you. All of the credit for preserving S365 goes to Martin. He really knows his stuff and I'm very happy that it landed there. I didn't know Mike too well, but we did talk hockey over the phone on occasion. I've got a few of his flies and both his books in my collection. I'm really glad that both Don and Mike were able to share a bit for the project.
I think these Perdigons should work well on a trout pond. I'd likely be trying to fish them either by casting out with slow retrieve using lighter flies (#14/16 w/ 3.0mm) or under a teardrop foam strike indicator with long leader chironomid style if that makes sense (ala Brian Chan / Phil Rowley).
      Cheers!

Just looking back at the last time I uploaded a fly, it's been almost a year. I hope that you like the fly and have a chance to try it out. Let me know what color wire you'll be tying with. Cheers

Holy chimo Darren! Only a minute eh? Very happy when I saw the notification, you haven't loss your touch. Copper & black is good, brown & yellow would be great too. If color makes a difference, I've had good results with brown or yellow in the mix for warm water fish. Gee it's good to see a video from the "capo di tutti capi". I hope it's not a "minute" before the next. :o) Thanks man!

Chimo Joe! Brown and yellow sounds great! I'm getting ready for the spring and getting in a few flies for my own boxes now. Hopefully my "Boss" doesn't mind me being out on the river more this year. I got a lot of testing to take care of lol. Good to hear from you Joe. Cheers
