Hello everyone, My opinion here: 1. According to Biblical knowledge. Sunday is a HOLY day. Let's keep it HOLY. 2. Nagaland for christ which means "Nagaland is for christ". Not for DMC or for business sectors and for other religions. Let's remember that we are in the land call "NAGALAND FOR CHRIST ". 3. Store/shopping mall staff won't be able to go to church if the shops are open on sunday at 12:00 noon, because they have to be there in store before 11 am or 11:30 am. 4. Staff don't get time for their family and friends. Because they have to work from morning 9am to evening 7:30pm or 8 pm (i-e, 10hrs 30 mins or 11 hours ×7) . Our brothers and sisters don't prefer easy money, so they work hard. I personally salute to each of them. 5. In other states if the staff doesn't take weekly off they get extra payment. But here they don't. 6. In other states daily working hour. 9 hours a day. But here 10 to 11 hours. Therefore, let's look around every corners and speak out. I work in a 10-7 job. I can't buy anything in the morning cos most of the shops aren't open, I can't shop after my work gets over cos till that times most shopkeepers close their shops. My only option is to shop on Sunday. If you look from my perspective what do you think? Not just me, but most people who stay in rent/have 10-7 job face this issue. And if Sunday is observed as rest day then shouldn't petrol pump/pharmacies be closed too? They're essential and should be open? But clothes/vegetables/other everyday use things aren't essential?

Some ppl fast every Sunday to thank God for the whole week, and to pray for the next days.... Even if the shop is open and is cheap whatsoever temptation it could be, I dont buy on sundays as God instructed me through parents n elders. Grew up from a family where my parents discouraged us planning picnics or journeys on Sundays. They told us to give thanks just 1 day in a week, that we lose nothing for remembering and honouring God. Instead we gain God's protection , blessings , provision, etc. There were times in the past I failed due to work pressure but to be honest, one day in a week belongs to the Living God that we should not modify into our will or convenience, but His Will should be done. God bless if understood from the heart, and not just read to criticize the truth.
I fully support DMC. Why are people so much against this??? I'm sure 50% of people against this are the ones drinking alcohol on Sunday evenings, let alone 50% of the people against this don't even go to church or even pray on sundays. And not to follow the fools who don't believe in sunday to keep it a rest day. . The world is a fool and all running after money, they only give excuse of time but the matter is only money. I work in a 10-7 job. I can't buy anything in the morning cos most of the shops aren't open, I can't shop after my work gets over cos till that times most shopkeepers close their shops. My only option is to shop on Sunday. If you look from my perspective what do you think? Not just me, but most people who stay in rent/have 10-7 job face this issue. And if Sunday is observed as rest day then shouldn't petrol pump/pharmacies be closed too? They're essential and should be open? But clothes/vegetables/other everyday use things aren't essential?

Even if the shop is open and is cheap whatsoever temptation it could be, I dont buy on sundays as God instructed me through parents n elders.
Grew up from a family where my parents discouraged us planning picnics or journeys on Sundays.
They told us to give thanks just 1 day in a week, that we lose nothing for remembering and honouring God. Instead we gain God's protection , blessings , provision, etc.
There were times in the past I failed due to work pressure but to be honest, one day in a week belongs to the Living God that we should not modify into our will or convenience, but His Will should be done.

Why are people so much against this???
I'm sure 50% of people against this are the ones drinking alcohol on Sunday evenings, let alone 50% of the people against this don't even go to church or even pray on sundays. While some people probably got a job through backdoor appointment and some parents against this DMC directive would readily jump over fences to get backdoor job for their children though they proclaim themselves as christian. Some educated youths and students against this decision are probably chewing tobacco inside the church. And I'm sure that the rich christian who are against this will go to a luxury bakery run by the plain after church service for their afternoon tea or picnic.

While we Nagas don't open or operate businesses on sundays, we, ourselves the Naga people are the ones who goes to bakery, paan shops, bazaars, vishals, mudu ghor, etc open by the plains people on Sundays. While we are pretending to be a true hardcore christian, the plains people are looting all our money and economy and they are living a lavish life outside Nagaland. Instead, let the local also open shops on Sundays if they can after church service and let them earn some few money and give some of the profit to Church as Thanksgiving or use it for their children's education or for good purposes. There are some who living hand to mouth and giving them the opportunity to earn even on sundays would be a great blessing to them. People say money is not everything but c'mon! We cannot lie forever. The general election is the living testament that money matters, instead of choosing money during election, let us rather work honestly even on Sundays and though it will be a small amount, it will be an honest amount.
Opening shops and running businesses on sundays doesn't make you a non-christian. Its the love for your neighbour, willingness to help people unconditionally, honesty, sincerity, humility, studying the Bible, prayer and worship, evangelism, living a holy life, choosing the right leaders during elections, not accepting backdoor appointments, no gossiping, not being judgemental and so many more is what makes a true christian.

Money is not everything, and the DMC should avoid promoting a purely business-focused mindset on the locals.
I also believe we should do away with the habit of calling everyone "uncle" or "auntie." Not everyone wants to be addressed that way. Instead, we should respectfully address people as "sir" or "madam," regardless of their social background.
