from my understanding of anti magic from the wiki, it doesnt protect you from curses. it states divine, curses and neutral is not reduced. so we could drop anti magic from this build as it only helps against mages or warlock with dark magic (ray of darkness, dark bolt, dark reflection). could sub in dark enchantment instead for 10% boost to dark reflection. could also run crystal sword as it combos well with blow of corruption. if u build for additional magical damage to boost ur dark reflection and blow of corruption u benefit using crystal sword plus it melts pdr builds. also since you use spells to buff urself and not to cast curses on enemies i think crystal sword casting works well enough to not have to swap to spellbook so saves u time there from switching or incase u get jumped on. thematically suits the cursed swordsman build too.
Interesting idea, might be a use for it after all because every time I use crystal sword, I'm always thinking wow, this feels like the weakest weapon in the game

seems like an interesting build idea the only personal preference change I would make would be taking a kris dagger and crystal ball so that you don't lose too much speed using falchion and ball but the ball will increase the blow of corruption damage
This is definitely an option although crystal ball and Kris is still -25 ( -10 for Kris and -15 for ball) and Falch I believe is -30 which isn't too much of a difference. Definitely up to your preference Kris for sure has higher DPS if you can connect all hits, but Falchs range helps when fighting multiple players.
The reason I don't use ball is your exact thinking can't lose too much MS so I run book and falch with lantern.
@@UrbanGent253 yea that's all valid just personal preference and i mainly play solos and the kris has some good burst damage to go with the blow of corruption and having the +5 on each swing with the bloodstained spell but could definitely see going up against multiple people having the extra reach being helpful
this build sounds like a lot of fun, cant wait to try it. Im kind of new to this game, but I've always been a fan of off meta builds.

@UrbanGent253 I ran this build all day but ran either vampirism or malice is place of the shard perk. It was a lot of fun, and I actually had a ton of success.
Ending up 2 shotting a barb, 2 fighters and a warlock lol. They weren't expecting to get hit so hard definitely caught some people off gaurd. Super fin build man, respect.
Man, your guides are so useful.. but I would probably do this on a fresh or “semi-fresh” warlock when you don’t have squire with all that stuff. It’s actually very entertaining seeing you play, have you ever thought of doing like a fresh start? It would be awesome
Yeah some of these builds would be tough with base Squire, that's why it's so important to get your first 2 quest lines done asap for better gear. I've thought about doing a fresh character, 0 to Hero type deal, and talking about the gear I'd prioritize and locations on the map for gearing up quick.

Yeah thats what i was meaning I'll make it happen for you level 1-20 with a bunch of tips what perks to prioritize as you slowly unlock them. 💪🏾

Try demon form with spells then use eldrich, pos, the weakness spell, blood blade, and the spell that takes buffs and turns them into shards so if you fight a bard bam 200% dmg if they keep buffing skills run vamp, demon armor, healing from melee and dark reflection. Then stack magical healing str and vigor buff go into demon form use the lifesteal ability use a crystal sword too since it goes off will and str

Hey melee longsword warlock here. Looks like my build except I don’t run spells. You could probably replace the lightfoot boots with laced turnshoe or adventurer boots for no loss in movement speed and gaining a little in terms of swing speed. Dexterity really does help with longsword builds. I’d probably also suggest cloth pants and strength gloves plus orc skin to get to 15 strength if you don’t have last seasons new +1 weapon damage skins. I run lizard skin but I realize the armor rating is not that good compared to a shadow mask additional stats.
Interesting build, with meta I typically run book but this seems like a viable build especially if you build a bit of dex
Oh I hold my own in normals. It’s a lot of fun especially since I play like an berserker charging in swinging. Would recommend you try it. Last night I had a four kill GC game and the last two was against a duo in solos.

I was thinking about the Platelock and wanted to ask: Would the Northern Tunic work? It gives some nice Agility and Dexteiry bonusses.
Yes it definitely works just keep in mind it is -16 MS so it's a bit heavier but definitely is an option 👍🏾

I come from playing a lot of No Spell Cleric and wanted to try it out with Warlock, as I think it has much more potential for melee/hybrid builds, plus the weapons able for the class are fire.

Run this with a bear druid partner, he can throw up a hot to offset your curse and if you curse him his bear dunk is going to shred
Definitely gonna try this would be disgusting with a juicy Druid 40+ Str
Very cool build! I don't know if I like soul collector with eldritch shield though as the shield wastes all of your stacks. Does the shield at least get stronger when it eats stacks?
Yeah true it might be best to swap that out after testing it multiple times it doesn't seem to get strong even though it should. You could always pop BOC first to proc shards then buff up. Although that would leave you with limited time to engage.
@@UrbanGent253 They should totally change that interaction if that's the case! Silly that the perk and spell have been in the game this long and still have such a poor QoL together.
Yeah, and the lack of explanation as to how the spells work with each other leads people to have to test everything in depth. Hopefully Ironmace irons it out a bit
BTW instead of curse of weakness I found spell predation very good especially in this meta
1000% the clerics and bards are rampant spell predation is one of those sleeper spells I've always ran up until recently. Too many race car clerics gotta slow them down a bit with weakness lol
What’s the stat prio? Do you focus on getting will in this build?
True phys is good since it's mostly a melee build, also Strength dex, movement speed would be prioritize. The occultist tunic and occultist pants both give Strength.
So what benefit gets Eldritch Shield from soul collector? More shield capacity?
It actually has 0 benefit when in reality it should proc and become 100% with max shards With soul collector.
Would longsword be good for this build? I have ~140 hours played and still don't have a main. Currently playing Ranger but I want to use a longsword and not play Fighter. Want to play a melee that can cast but don't like Cleric weapons.

id change the damage reflect to torture mastery tho and benefit from that cause the healing is kinda broken
You could definitely use longsword especially, if your parrys are insane. Torture mastery also is doable just requires a bit more prep time

You definitely could although the reason I didn't go plate is because this is like a higher movement speed skirmish build if I went plate people would just poke with range snd not engage.
