    This saloon is still as roomy on the inside though, giving you versatility and practicality.
    Prices for the range start from £9,845.00 on the road - the model we have here costs £12,640.00 with metallic paint.

    I have had the Bi-fuel comfort for a month now. It's a brilliant car that I run constantly on LPG (57p a litre) , you get a few miles mpg less , but I've just been on a round trip to Birmingham on roughly £23 of LPG for 355 miles!

      Proper bargain motoring, we knew it made it economical, that’s crazy though.

      @@spanishtickle5684 Hi , you cannot even tell when you switch over , it's seamless. You'd be crazy to switch to petrol anyway at the price. The car feels more powerful on LPG anyway.
      I've just done another road trip 730 miles on £55 of LPG !!

    I like Dacia as a brand anyway but the latest Sandero brings it up to a whole new level. I find it amazing that in the past, Dacia has used previous Renault tech and underpinnings (Sandero Mk2 used Clio Mk3 underpinnings) to keep costs low whereas this uses the latest Clio 5 platform, engines, gearbox etc and as a base model, is still just over £6000 less than the base model Clio for what is essentially, the same car. The Clio will probably be a little more luxurious with a bit more tech but it's not like you're getting very little with these latest Sanderos.

    Would be good to know if it has stop-start, how smoothly it works (no separate 12/24/48 Volt starter generator of course :-) ) and if it works at all when using LPG ? Other than that the bi-fuel looks an excellent proposition. My local Sainsbury's is doing LPG at 55 pence a litre: I needed a lie down and a stiff drink after I saw that......

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It certainly does with the price hikes, it’s a very efficient and smooth system, hopefully we’ll get longer than 25m with the car next time.

    • @rogersummers4619
      @rogersummers4619 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@PlanetautoUK I look forward to that. LPG seems to be "The fuel that time forgot".
      Adjusting for the 50 mpg you get with the Sandero running on petrol to compensate for 40 mpg it does on LPG, petrol is around 20% more efficient.
      However, at 56 pence a litre for LPG it is around 2.7 times cheaper to buy. You're effectively getting a car that's turning in over 105 mpg in 'petrol terms' - at today's pricing.
      Have I got my maths wrong here.... or does it beg the question as to how on earth can an owner of a new ID.3 ever recoup his original costs against a Sandero Bi-fuel equivalent ? 🙂

    My wife has had a last-generation one for the last two and a half years. It was the basic (essential) spec and the gutless (75hp) engine - having always driven an old car before that, the lack of tech/etc wasn't a problem, and it was fine around town, but gutless on a fast road. So we've just ordered a new one for when it's time to hand it back - still the basic spec but the 100hp bi-fuel, in blue (as was the old one).

    • @PlanetautoUK

    A great review. I enjoyed the Annabelle interjections too.
    The Iron Blue looks brilliant and so good to see a proper handbrake too. Dacia are doing a lot right. The previous Sandero performed really well in the What car? reliability survey - incredible for a budget car - and the new model seems to really move the model on in terms of style and refinement without a huge price hike. I don't understand why the sales seem to be falling? I wonder if it's the warranty? If they went to 5 years would they get more sales from budget conscious buyers? Given the reliability seems good it might not be too big a risk for Dacia either.
    With reliable budget cars, built on other manufacturer's tech and LPG they are very much in Proton's old market too. Shame Proton lost sight of that

      Thank you Alan, we filmed this in 25 minutes 😵‍💫 range days are hectic beasts, fun and completely non stop, and yes it’s good to see Annabelle starting to return.
      It may well be warranty or people now seriously looking at hybrid ev tech alternatives rather than older tech, excise duty, emissions & media spin, etc etc
      Dacia just get better and better, thank you Alan

      @@PlanetautoUK it'll depreciate like a lead balloon, they are cheap for a reason, wait till it's got 60k on the clock and the faults start cropping up.
      I'm well versed on cars, I've always driven 10 year old cars and keep them until they are ready for scrap. (Near zero depreciation)
      Toyota and Honda wipe the floor against European cars on the reliability front.
      Put that Dacia next to a 2019 jazz and look at the difference in build quality.

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      As am I, the same was said about MG, and Kia. Honda are far higher priced than Dacia, to buy a second hand motor you miss out on what Sandero buyers want a reliable well built brand new car with better fuel economy than pretty much all competitors- Dacia are better than you give them credit for, I’d rather have the ek9 with a k20, or for the price of an older Jazz I’d rather have an FK8 - and we’ll see about depreciation
