The Spector should easily beat the breaks of any Amazo with zero effort.
The specter being drained this makes zero sense same with the shazam twins they borrow the power of the gods so unless your chosen by the wizard to wield the power i call complete bs to be able to steal it.

@@bashengatheblackmanta7003 More facts. But if technological means are used to steal or negate ordinary superpowers and magic is used to counter magic, there's at least a fig leaf of plausibility. The one size drains all approach of ABSOLUTE POWER is BS.

I get using magic to separate the Spectre from Jim, but draining him? Like the process should cause the Amazo to explode from just trying to. Absorb that level of power.

These writers need to study who spectre is abd stop including him in regular superhero teams and doing him like that, you don’t see marvel making the living tribunal part of the avengers.
Human creation able to absorb God's power is just silly. I'm not talking about "gods" power like wonder woman or Capt marvel, but (dc's) true God power in the Spectre. 😅
Right there's no way with everything I know from reading DC my whole life that this should be possible nothing they come up with will sufficiently explain it
Yeah, time for DC to get overboard with story writing. 1) How could Amanda Waller outsmart the best brains and strategists in the DC universe; 2) How could she manage to deprive all sorts of powerful beings from the powers?; 3) In this issue, what would a cosmic entity like the Specter be doing in a room with a bunch of mortals and how anything in the realm present and sort of challenge to him, even take his powers? Yes, this is Comics by I need a little bit of respect for logic, characters and story continuity.
Thank you for covering this. I hate it when people say they'll get us completely caught up, then don't cover the side stories. Great narration
The most under-apprectiated about this issue is that the Amazo went for the most dangerous person first: John Constantine
I am very curious how this Amazo designed by Fail Safe is able to absorb mystical entities' powers. The only one I can recall who was able to "steal" Spectre's powers temporarily along with any other magic based being was Black Alice. So somehow this Amazo is able to duplicate Black Alice's powers. This is easily the most powerful Amazo ever.

And it is really dangerous how the Amazos can drain magic.
Since the first issue of Task Force VII (or Absolute Power: Shazam!) spoiled this comic, what I’m going to to say is that the only good thing about this comic is Diana, Billy, Mary, and the JLD playing cards before they encountered an Amazo. That’s it.
For the Super Sons back up, I like that Jon and Damian took Lizzie to a Black Canary concert (even though it’a unnecessary for Black Canary to become a singer in her civilian identity, in my opinion) before they were able to talk about her music while fighting Mongul. Also, Damian being a pop music fan, which is surprising and hilarious. Overall, this backup is good.
Watch the Amazo become super intelligent after absorbing whatever Mr. Bubbles (iykyk) has.

It just occurred to me that we could be seeing an effect of Oliver Queen in the past manifesting in the present that's why The Amazozan is speaking in the Ole English tongue

As the robot said in absolute power #1 "If you use magic you will forget how to conjure it" spectre is an entity that needs to be summoned so I guess the robot made Jim forget how to summon spectre

It's terrible that they can absorb the spectre...shouldn't even be possible..no reason heroes have a chance to win..other than the humans need the heroes and give them their weaknesses

So how does these Amazos depower all these different characters.
Spectre shouldn't just be depowered this way. Using some magical mystical items or spells is what should be used to depower him.
Also in comics I always wonder how they use something to depower people who all access their powers through different ways. E.g some is from their natural physiology, some enhanced, some special items etc.
Also the Amazos weren't shown to have touched the Superman family to depower them.
Anyways hoping for some good stories.
