I never understood the hatred towards this amazing sequel. I love it as much as the original. So many great moments here
Ahhnold wasn't in it. Sequels had to be something very special if they had any chance realizing any success if they failed to bring back the main character. The general consensus was "If they couldn't bring back tall, dark, and sweaty, then it must be crap".
Me too. I loved how it expanded the story and gave us a different environment.
Nah, the original is clearly a better film. But it's sequel is still the second best.👍

Harrigan was the man. Toughest hero in all the Predator movies. He legit had the predator fleeing to his ship.
If Schwarzenegger got his hands on the Predator's advanced weapons to fight with, he'd have had his predator running too, instead he killed his predator with just mud and sticks. In the same scenario without an advanced alien weapon Harrigan would've been a skull of the Predator's wall, within seconds. Dutch is the man.👍

Predator 2 aged like a fine wine, and is still the second best film of the entire Predator franchise, mainly due to the action packed storyline and the fantastic practical and visual effects. While it could have been on another level if Arnold Schwarzenegger returned as The lead as originally intended, but The Lost tribe members appearing out of nowhere during the end of the film was great, as each member had an individual style/personality that stuck strongly to the original design. Not one CGI face.👍

Predator 2 is an underrated sequel, I watch it more than the original now. I love the story, Harrigan and City Predator are just alike personality wise, both were hotheaded. The predator chose him when he jumped in the middle of the action and started taking every down, and then the Predator did the same thing later with the Jamaicans. I also like that it's a subtle play on "Dante's Inferno", everyone complaining about heat, Harrigan having to go into the depths/bowels of the city to hunt the Predator down.
I don't see how some say the 2nd movie wasn't that good, it's one of my favorite movies of the 90s. First two Predator movies are my all time best sci-fi alien movies.

All those Predators decloaking on the spaceship at the end is one of my favorite moments in film history. Poor Mike Harrigan goes through all that with one and now there's like ten!

Everything about this movie was great. The hero was not a war veteran like Arnie, but a streetwise cop hero. That made the movie have its own falvor and different from the original. Its as great as its original in my opinion and my all time favourite.

Mike followed him home beat him in the ship and said whos next. The preators gave him respect well he earned the respect of an alien warrior race.
They admire courage and fearlessness which they are all about! You gotta respect that! Well, the sequel was SUPPOSED to be MUCH closer to the original, as it was about Dukes brother. The comics went into much more detail, including trying to find out where his brother went.

"If It Bleeds" is an excellent short-story anthology, a lot of great talent in it.

Couple of things, One: heard that the part of noland from predators was originally going to be danny glover reprising his role from predator 2 but for personal reasons he turned it down. Now why would I say/remind anyone of this? Because I hope that somebody someday makes a deep fake of the noland scene with danny glovers face and an impersonator doing his voice, just to see what the scene would have looked like. And two: you know........... thinking about it now,JUST ONCE i would like to read a comic (or maybe a novel) where mike and dutch FINALLY meet. I think we're owed that much from this franchise
This one was great because everything was different, including a “Anti-Hero” Predator killing off drug dealers and lords. Basically helping out the Police. Lol. Poor Danny Boy

I remember watching this movie when I was a young man. The scene where Jerry lambert gets his spine ripped out was epic and brutal. It was the noise of it and the practical effects... This movie is simply brutal! I was hooked.
Not brutal he killed him first only a badblood would do that to living prey.
Hence the SKINNED ALIVE spoken in about every dsmned movie..when EVER in the movies does a Predator skin someone alive..why thry indist on putting that BS line in every movie when it's totally FALSE...i never got that!

I'd actually be interested to see a R rated proper AvP remake having Dutch and Mike Harrington team up against an alien xenomoph nest area. But have the same Predators that Mike encountered return to help in exterminating the xenomorphs. There are a few xenomorphs species from the comics yet to appear. I'd love to see the aliens and predator franchises push the envelope on their horror. Nothing wrong with using the Jaws approach where you hide the aliens and build tension.

This movie was frickin awesome from start to finish. After all of the movies though, I've always wondered why Dutch was the only one not to receive a trophy (except a nuclear explosion). Was the jungle predator, dishonourable?

Having to reward a human for killing a tribe member isn’t really necessary and the jungle hunter only self destruct to destroy his technology so human can’t use it

Mike went back to the farm
The flintlock came from a pirate, whos crew mutinied. Predator turns up wanting to fight the pirate. Predator and pirate go back to back fightin off the crew, so they can have a a one on one fight. One of the crew only wounded, stabs the pirate in the back. Robbing the predator of his one on one fight with the pirate. The predator kills the crew member, and takes the flintlock from the pirates body. Not as a victory trophy, but a momento of a fallen warrior. The predator Harrigan kills is the one who took the pistol from the pirate. Thats why they gave the flintlock to Harrigan.

I always thought the Predator Greyback was related to the City Predator, he was stroking his necklace and looked to be grieving before he gave the gun to Harrigan.

The second Predator is a young, inexperienced one; his hunts in the movie are some of his first on earth.
Greyback, the elder, is the one who took the pistol from the pirate. He's clearly an ancient specimen of the species and would have been alive 2 centuries earlier.
