I loved how Robotnik was inside the Robot controlling it with his Body, and Stone was trying to help by reading the “manual.”

Since during the marketing of the flim and Wow just wow Seeing Super Sonic was Freaking awesome my jaw hit the floor when I saw it
But yeah as for this playset its really good and I hope Jakks does a 4 inch movie Super Soinc figure.

To me, the reason why the Death Egg Robot is purple and this playset, is because that was going to be the Death Egg Robot's original color palette, but they changed it during development of the movie to make it look more like the one from the Sonic 2 video game.
Remember the “‘’stache smash?” That was something Stone came up with on his own. I hope Robotnik will appreciate it, even though he can’t find any heart to care about it.

in leaked images before the set was released you could see "super sonic" on the bottom of the package so they kinda avoided spoilers

Toy company's typically have to design figures with concept art, while the movies are still in production, so I imagine that why the Death-egg robot is purple!

Y'know, even if it's a bit "janky" as a playset, I'll bet that this one, and maybe even the OTHER Death-Egg playset could both work as cool Sonic-themed board-games! You easily re-imagine this as a 'Mousetrap'-style game, where you get points every time you knock a figure off, or something like that. Same with the other version! (only in reverse) Thanks for keeping us updated! =)

Definitely the end of the movie was of course my favorite scene of Sonic 2 especially Super Sonic appearing in the end was the best part!!! Especially it was adorable the way how my girlfriend clapped her hands when she saw him haha 😁 it definitely was a cool moment and can't wait to get this for myself and make an awesome display of this too! 👍

I think the Super Sonic figure is made of Rubber because they probably new kids would try to throw it at the Death Robot and swing it around as if it was flying. The other Death Egg Robot play set has a rolled up Classic Sonic Figure that is meant to be launched at the Robot itself

honestly i wish it was a full figure, but i actually wished the other side had the inside details and it came with the Master emerald powered Eggman so you could reenacted the inside battle between him and Tails/knuckles because it looks like there is a spot to stand eggman at like in the movie
Stone was so In Love with Robotnik and I saw some hint of Robotnik returning the affection but it was only very small and basically nothing.

I think they made the Super Sonic rubber because you can launch it at the Death Egg robot, kind of how the classic Sonic spindash figure was rubber in the other death egg robot

Ngl, I’m a little disappointed that the Death Egg Robobot is just a glorified wall with arms and isn’t the right color but other than that, it looks super cool.

It is noticeable that for the sonic design in the box they reused a conventional sonic render xd
Since it’s hollow anyways, shouldn’t there be a place to “suspend” Robotnik inside of it (and also shouldn’t it come with a Super Robotnik figure and also Agent Stone sitting in the interior booth with an instruction manual)?
It should but since its a billboard cutout style set we might have to use what we have.

I just watched the commercial on TH-cam. In the ad, the arms were up when they used Super Sonic. Maybe that works better?

I think Super Sonic's head is rubber for the same reason the Classic Sonic figure with the OG Death Egg Robot is rubber: launch safe. Meaning it can be launched and not harm anyone or anything since it's made out of a soft material.
The colors could of just been an issue with production of the movie since alot of toys are based off concept art and are started usually when a film is in preproduction

Why is the Mech purple?
I got the robot part for 2 dollars and 19 cents including tax from a thrift store. It was in perfect condition besides one of the sides of the mustache being broken.
Kind of look like it's a First Concept of the Death Egg Robot in the movie... Cause of the colours and the face sculpt idk
Something tells me that the Super Sonic figure wasn't exactly.. made at a standard as high as the other movie 2.5 figures. The rubber I can understand as its intended to be launched at the Death Egg Robot itself, but the head just seems.. really rushed. No new face at all (including the green eyes), and the spine pattern is pretty much identical to modern Super Sonic's. Sure, its got the smaller quill details as expected, but looking at pictures of the figure I noticed that its missing Movie Sonic's 7th spine (compared to other Sonics, he has an extra spine at the bottom middle). In the movie, Super Sonic's spines were a lot more like normal Sonic's, but pointing up while still going more back than outwards.

The reason why it’s Robert is so you don’t scratch anything sonic or the death egg robot
