I have been showing this video to kindergartners and first graders in our school library, after reading them the book "The Wonky Donkey." The kids are all enraptured by watching the donkeys in the video and listening to the calm, peaceful narration. It's so sweet. Thank you for sharing. We are in Portland, Oregon, U.S.
Sandra, you have the patience of a saint and a heart of gold. The donkeys are a great addition. Trust means most when it comes t o love. My best wishes to you on your therapy adventures!
You are so kind and gentle with the donkeys. They are indeed lovely animals. I think that they are very happy to be with you. I do wish that we could all be able to go back to happier days such as yours.
Bless you for what you're doing for the children, and for yourself, Donkeys are wonderful, I have 3 mini's, 3 Mammoth Donkeys that I rescued from Kill Pens. I'm working on them to trust me, and learning to be more Patient. Thanks for sharing your experiences 👍
Thank you Oneda. Yes, they are adorable. We didn't know anything about them before they arrived, but they've settled in very well and we're lucky to have them.
Wonderful to see your handling and the training for therapy. We've been on Donkey Sanctuary courses in their behaviour which were really interesting - we're hoping to foster some soon!
+Liz Reece We're lucky - ours hadn't had any serious trauma in their lives, so it wasn't difficult to show them what to do. Good luck with yours when you get them : - )
Thank you for this, really enjoyed it and learned a lot. I am interested in miniature burros for therapy or for a fun activity for kids (riding) at summer or church camps. I live near the Pleasant Valley Donkey Rescue center in San Angelo, Texas and am thinking about adopting, but they rarely have miniatures. I grew up riding them as a child in Arkansas and it was such a wonderful and rewarding experience and would love for other young children to experience them as I, so fortunately, was able to. They can be such sweet creatures, but ornery sometimes, too! Best wishes to you and thank you for what you are doing.
I love donkeys! It would be so healing for me to be around them. Is there a place in the USA like your place that I could spend time in helping with grooming the donkeys?
Angie Taylor, there are therapeutic farms all over the US. You could certainly do a google search for one in your area. We’ve lived in several different states, and there was usually one within easy driving distance wherever we’ve lived.
Oh I guessed already! They have a tiny hamster wheel that runs an itty-bitty little dynamo that powers your christmas lights ... or turns an ice cream churn ...
Donkeys are very cautious creatures, and very sensitive and alert, too. They watch their handler carefully. So if you show them that the dog is trustworthy and friendly, that you are ok and confident with the dog, and the dog doesn't bark at them or snap at their legs or tail, then over time, they will get used to them and accept them. That's how things worked with our dogs here anyway. Best of luck, Sandra
I love your videos. We watch them together with my partner. We´d like to share them with our friends but not all of them speak English, so I was wondering if you´d like me to subtitle them. Let me know :) We love Bob

So ... I am curious as to how the guinea pigs earn their keep ... Surely you're not opening a Mexican restaurant?

Hi
Woul you please tell me how to make Donkeys accept dogs?
Kind Regards
